Chungha was born in Korea but moved to Dallas, TX when she was young and lived there for 7/8 years, so she is fluent in English. She was formerly apart of the girl group I.O.I (2016-2017). I.O.I was formed from the Mnet girl group survival show the group was only temporary project as all the girl were apart of different companies. Chungha debuted as a solo artist in 2017 with MNH Entertainment. She is a phenomenal dancer and performer! YO THE THING YOU SAID ABOUT HER DIFFERENT SIDES. Her entire album concepts was about the four sides of her, it's split in four sections, noble, savage, unknown and pleasures. Chungha really can carry her own, she was in a group called I.O.I. that was formed by a survival show but they disbanded. This is not really a critic, but unfortunately I think that MVs can't really convey Chungha's true potential as a dancer. I mean, she's amazing in the MVs, and the effects and transitions are a nice touch, but watching her dance practices you realize how good she is at performing.

Chungha is LEGEND. Looks like others have educated y’all on the competition show and her brief time in a group so I’ll skip that and just say this... Chungha really does have that ~something special, with which she works hard to maintain and better herself. “Gotta Go” is my personal favorite and her first truly big hit. Her first two singles did well (I personally enjoyed “Rollercoaster” a lot), but “Gotta Go” was rather unique and utilized that slow, smooth kind of choreo that hits especially hard when performed by someone like Chungha. [Two sidesteps and shoulder-rolls that take nearly three seconds to execute ... but it feels as if she just kicked you in the face after tumbling. lol] Her next single “Snapping” was another huge hit. (sidenote: someone made an animated dancing-Thanos video that I am still not over) “Stay Tonight” rivals “Gotta Go” for her best track. It brings back late 80s-early 90s dance/pop (La Bouche is what I hear but my familiarity with that genre is very limited). The choreo is voguevoguevogue. It’s a stunner, truly. The “Bicycle” music video actually incorporates the concepts from ALL of the aforementioned tracks. It’s amazing.

Love y'alls videos!! I would highly suggest you check out some of Chungha's dance practices or performance videos (I recommend the "Dream of You" performance video and the "Stay Tonight" & "Snapping" dance practices). She's an amazingly charismatic performer and dancer and an absolute sweetheart! Also, random fun fact: She's super close with her dancers/choreographers, who she has been working with for years. She really loves to give them a chance in the spotlight (you can see this in the ending of the "Stay Tonight" choreo, where she steps to the back and lets her dancers go off in the front). She's also vocal about not referring to them as her "backup" dancers, just her dancers, as she wants them to be recognized for their individual talents and what they bring to the performance dynamic, rather than just being the background for her solo performances.

Hi, guys... I enjoyed this reaction! Chungha is Korean-American and is an amazing solo artist! :) She is the sweetest girl, as you'll see in a lot of American interviews she's had... But she's one of the sickest dancers of this current generation of Kpop idols.. :) She actually debut as a main dancer in a girl group first before going solo... :) Her group was one of the top Kpop girl group, probably the 2nd after Twice, during the time they were active...but they were just a project group and had to disband after a year... But they went on to debut in separate groups..and Chungha was the only one who debuted as a solo artist... :) I think you guys would enjoy watching the dance practice of this MV since you're dancers.. 😊

You guys really nailed it with Chungha and her "sides" and attitudes. She's a pro at that. She can do sensual, she can do sexy, she can do innocent, she can do party girl, she can do vulnerability, she can do confidence. And she can mix them at will too! She's a true performer. Chungha in addition to being a solo singer, she's also an actual DANCER and she contributes to the choreographies. So that's why she's always in there with the backup dancers doing the dancing full on cause she can truly hold her own in that right. Whereas a lot of solo artists can dance a enough to get by but the backup dancers do the bulk while the soloist stands and sings or just grooves a bit. When you circle back around to more Chungha, i highly recommend the "Stay Tonight", "Play", and the "Gotta Go" dance practices. All three have fantastic music videos, but to the point you kind of hit on in this video, it's very heavily edited with lots of cuts so you don't see all of the choreo all the time in the music video. So you can really appreciate the choreos better in the dance practices or in a live performance like the Studio Choom performances (Studio Choom performances aren't sung live, they are more about showcasing the dancing).

i really think you guys should react to only the dance practice or even do both the mv and the dance practice so you guys can get a good grasp of what the actual choreography looks like! it would be a very interesting video to see dancers analyzing chungha because it's always a sight to behold! (both chungha and the dancer's reaction)

MVs really showcase her attitude but honestly, here dance practices are where it's at!!! You can really see how strong of a dancer she is and how much attention she pays to every detail of it. Not to mention her dancers!!! They always give 120% for the dance and the end result is an amazingly cohesive dance performance where chungha remains the focus (bc your eyes are naturally drawn to her) and the dancers complement her skills perfectly.
