Thank you so much for covering my brother Danny. Although this was very difficult to watch , all we have left for hope is media exposure. The RNC here in Newfoundland didnt give one crap about him, and only put divers and things in the water to make themselves look better!! And I may stand corrected but it may have been up to a month before they went back to the bars he visited that night. No police officer has a right to assume anything in a missing persons case, and they did for my brother. Waited a week to do ANYTHING!! Divers and searchers. Also, he went missing October 24th 2006 . Shelly Stokes the physic found his clothes in an alleyway the following spring!!!

For some reason I just don’t believe there was a girl involved. I don’t think he was going to meet up with anyone, his friends probably made that up. One of the crew members is definitely behind this
@s.kaiyisah3710

I was thinking the same thing , if he were going to meet a girl he would litterly tell his brother . And he call his brother and said someone make him paranoid or him make someone paranoid , and he seems upset , which could be the people he was with from the boat was making him feel that way , maybe they say something or accuse him of something . That people that say he was meeting a women that night , maybe know something more than we know .
@kamisa7362
@kamisa7362 5 жыл бұрын
Finally, someone thinks exactly what I've been thinking. To me, the crew seems more obvious than any of these other theories. They're the ones who said he was meeting a woman, they're the ones in charge of the watch and mysteriously lost it, his stuff was found on the boat, and his hat and jacket were found hidden close to the boat. They probably dumped him out in the ocean. Also, who actually took out all that cash? And why aren't there any surveillance video's?

See I thought this was recent, wasn't paying attention to the date of the actual crime, so I'm like hmm maybe tindr or something. But you would think if someone is ecstatic to meet either a new guy or girl he or she would tell someone at least her NAME. Breaks my heart to think about it more for the fact that he lived his whole life by the water to have possibly his life ended in water too. Prayers for the family.

My original opinion was that maybe he was going to meet a prostitute and that is why he kept going to the strip club place. And that is why no one knows about this girl except guys who were probably into the same thing. And that it may have been something he never did before/was uncharacteristic for him. My next opinion was that it was a misunderstanding. Like maybe one of the guys said "Hey Danny! What are you doing tonight? Got a date?" And he said jokingly "Yeah. Gonna meet a girl right now."

To me, the phone call supports the theory that crew members were involved. Someone was making him paranoid and he wanted his brother to be with him on the boat the next year. I think he was afraid of someone on the boat.

I think it is them too. There is way too much forgetting happening. Plus the fact that they said he was with him but the phone call proves he wasn't. And of course the watch. I think there was probably some sort of argument which resulted in an accident and they are trying to cover it up. Poorly. Either that or the whole crew suffers from fucking amnesia.

There's too many suspicious things about this case to rule out foul play. 1. The timeline that his crewmates gave not matching up with the phone call 2. Him sounding nervous/scared on the phone 3. The crewmates saying he was meeting up with a woman who was never heard from 4. His clothes being found in this random location 5. The watch and wallet found at the boat and then the watch going missing. I definitely think the crewmates are lying about something

Danelle, this is the first time I have heard that you lost a sibling. I’m so sorry to hear that. I lost my older brother about two years ago and it hurts every day. He was up there with the best men I’ve ever known. His passing has taught me many things, one being how fragile life is. These videos that you produce are a reminder for me of just that. They remind me to look out for people who may not be so aware, because I don’t want anyone in the world to feel the way that I do from unexpectedly losing a loved one. I am from St. John’s, Newfoundland and unfortunately a lot of people that go missing are never found. There are so many places to hide/dispose of a body where it would be impossible to find them. The province is an island therefore surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean where someone can be swept away in seconds. Thank you Danelle for covering missing persons cases from Newfoundland such as this one and the Cortney Lake investigation. Mentioning New Foundland made me think of "Dear Zachary" that documentary haunts me. Unfortunately, it would spoil the whole thing if you read comments or google it before watching it but it's worth it. (you can watch the full thing on youtube) I have never sobbed so hard in my life watching a movie. It is about a man killed by his ex gf, she ends up in jail, pregnant with his child and the documentary was started by the murdered man's best friend who traveled far and wide to collect stories about Andrew so his son could know who he was. It also follows the murdered man's parents quest for custody of Zachary. It's such a great documentary and the strength his parents have is mindblowing. This documentary made me want to scream and lose faith in humanity but somehow also managed to restore it. I honestly recommend this to people all over because the parents are such amazing people that I think everyone should know these amazing people exist in the world and their son's story. If anyone actually watches it, let me know if you liked it :)

What a stellar friend to have started and ended his search and interview with the people his best friend came upon in his outstanding live. I never have imagined or would imagine the shear brutality, manipulation, and wickedness some people hold in them. What I want to say is thank you for your recommendation and sharing his story, I am very glad to have heard about Andrew and Zachary, their family and friends and through his best friend. I cannot thank you enough for covering Newfoundland missing persons cases. I live here and it's common knowledge around here that once someone goes missing, chances are that they're forgotten about and never to be found. My town, Grand Falls, is currently searching for someone's body. RCMP gave up after 4 days. By spreading awareness for our missing persons, you keep their stories and names out there. It means so much to see that people outside our little island care just as much as us. Thank you, sincerely.

Him accidentally falling into the water only makes sense until you begin to think of where all of his personal belongings wound up. Then the entire theory falls apart, in my opinion. Not only would it have been extremely cold to begin with in October, but the windchill in Newfoundland is horrendous all year round. And speaking from experience, it’s so damp there that the cold feels like it just seeps into your bones.

I find it strange that the psychic said she had info that was “fruitful” for the case... I feel like there’s something to that... the choice of words.... is just... weird/interesting.... then... they don’t even look into the dna?!?! That’s crazy to me... Also keep in mind the year... 2006 ... watches were a status symbol... almost everyone wore a watch then...curious to know what kind of watch/brand it was because if someone on the boat was hard up for money for drugs etc, that would explain its sudden “disappearance” from the boat... I also think the idea about the $40 withdrawal for a cab makes a lot of sense- in 2006 you couldn’t just use your credit/debit card like you do now... you literally needed cash... so there’s something to that... curious to know where each of the withdrawals were/times.... Love your content Danelle-

I was wondering about the watch brand. Watches are status symbols espacially big brands and men are crazy into them. Rich or poor you want that item. There can be jealously from watches and maybe it was crew robbing him and the watch was sentimental so he wouldnt give it over so it because a challenge and the body was disposed of. The watch couldve easily went on black market.

Yeah, if anyone other than a “psychic” had said those things they would have immediately been under a ton of suspicion and questioning from the police. This is beyond suspicious. That woman knows something about this crime and it has nothing to do with psychic abilities.

I can't imagine someone wearing an overly expensive watch to work on a fishing boat, so I don't know how much of a "status symbol" it could've been. I can imagine someone being desperate enough to steal even a cheap one for a few extra bucks, however.

I have been told my many ex navy people about a crew mate having been "gotten rid of" because he didn't fit in or in one case he had caught on to a drug selling situation & said he would be reporting it. I imagine that early several gay military men met their end that way. You never know who is just repeating urban legend of tales retold until they became "fact". Fishing boats have more flex toward what people do in their off ship time so I don't know if that happens as much but I agree with what you said about the watch disappearance being very suspicious as well as the helpful & suddenly no longer involved psychic being odd as well. It just infuriates me when the police won't do their job! They should treat each & every case as if the victim was their child or other family member! My daughter is a nurse & that was my advice to her. If there comes a time when you can't do that, for whatever reason, then take a vacation because these patients deserve that level of treatment as do the victims & their families in this case. Sorry, too long & preachy. Poor family, not much chance of closure for them.

In July of 1999 when I was 3 months old he disappeared leaving behind his 3 young boys and wife. We’ve never found any remains or trace of him in almost 20 years and it still eats at me every now and then. They found his truck, wallet and keys i believe abandon in a field. But we haven’t heard or seen him since 1999.

Maybe he fought with a crewmate over a girl (or really anything) that night and was afraid of confronting him. They had a fight behind the boat supplies and the crewmate took his wallet and watch and left him there.. and from there, beat up and drunk, he may have fallen into the water. The crewmate then later realized he has the items on him and they may be found so he calls it in, and maybe like you said, there was evidence of a struggle on the watch and they had to dispose of it. Or maybe even another crewmate found it and called it in, then when the assailant realizes this and that there may be evidence on the watch, then throws it out.

It seems like that would be the easiest way to cover up foul play if multiple “witnesses” (the crew) heard him say he was going to see a woman it would be hard to suspect that many people with the same story. His phone call to his brother tells me that he was paranoid for the crew, and that he would like for his brother to go with him on the ship next year to feel more safe. The crew of the ship was involved. They made the story of the women up, they took his watch because it was probably worth something and took cash from his bankaccount too. I don't know, seems pretty reasonable and obvious to me.

FYI, Psychics have been jailed after reporting things to police. (Because the police feel the only one who would know that much Is the killer.) If the psychic is local to the area it's even worse. That psychic also may have feared that the killer would come after her or her family which could be her personal reason for not getting involved more. The police WILL check into her and her family for an alibi for that night and that also might have scared her off helping more if she thought the police were suspicious of her family as being involved with the crime.

I think someone from the crew is involved. He probably did take his wallet with him that night and whether the motive was a personal issue, money, or both, the involved crew member/members are responsible for them showing back up on the boat. It would also explain why the watch disappeared. Either some type of evidence on it or they wanted to get money for it. They would also have knowledge about sea currents and temperature. And they are the only ones corroborating the story of this mystery woman...

Im from a huge finishing town in New Bedford Massachusetts owned a fishing boat and lost a brother in law overboard. So many factors ring true that you've mentioned here. I m so sorry to say that I am 99.999% sure that unfortunately Danny's will not ever be found. weather it was accidental or murder. between the fast flowing river and the ocean it flows into, no one would nor need to spend hours digging a grave in the frozen ground , the ocean is the only senceable place where he sadly ended up and it happens all the time, I'm sorry to say. These guys fight all the time!! The thing is they have no choice to shut up & get along or you will be fired ...if your a real good fisherman but a jerk (not Danny his calls are to sweet) the crew will keep you separated or on seperate watches cause you have to work together and be focused on this dangerous job. they make huge money and know to be drinkers, to say the least. when u hit the dock u go party or u go home. sounds like he nor a few guy didn't live close by so they stayed on board till the next day when they settled up and get their paychecks for the trip. ah yes, friends or not , a drunken sailor often is ready to fight. Behind the Supply house maybe?...that would be the only reason to take off your coat &hat (to fight) &/or it was overlooked after they threw him in the water or planted there &paid the psychic to lead cop off the boat away from the crew where it really happened. I think that because if you have a watch, unless it's an unlikely work watch unnecessary & in the way for fishing...u would certainly wear it out on the town and these guy don't buy cheap watches. all those hard working days ...no way would the guy up & leave without it.i certainly hope the family received it from the boat owner ! if it wasn't for the calls and coat I'd agree he slipped overboard taken a leak or something after he got back and it happens allot. at night in winter your pretty much gone, but in this case it has fowl play all over it. I would track those fishermen down catch em when they're drunk ,tell a similar kind of story as w stranger .maybe by this time so many years later u can catch one of them on a guilt trip, hope I filled in something as of the fishing industry in question.I lost my brother Donny the fisherman too...May God Bless Donny and Danny. Someone should dig into the psychics background. How long she has been a psychic and if this was a typical behavior of hers. She could have a connection to someone that put her up to this task in order to deflect from some theory that may have been in the works at that time.

YUP* the woman was a prostitute, met her at the strip-club, took her back to his boat--or got a ride--took everything out his pockets, watch off....then foul play. Not on his boat, since no DNA evidence there... Maybe he left his wallet/(expensive)watch on the boat, cuz he knew where he was headed(the brothel/stripclub); the large amount of $$ he took out of atm(/wherever) was to pay for the hooker. Unless it was all in ones. Then maybe they had 'a tryst' at that boathouse~parking lot, and: foul-play...

As a Canadian, I did have some thoughts in relation to some of the details you brought up. ATMs here in Canada usually only give out $20 bills, and sometimes $50 bills depending on the amount of money you're trying to withdraw. So even if he was carrying his cash loosely in his pockets, it wouldn't have been as many individual bills as you're thinking. Still odd for sure, but not as much of a hassle as I think you might think. Also, Newfoundland gets very cold, so 30F isn't actually too uncomfortably cold to be out in in a t-shirt, especially drunk and especially if you're used to it, so it would actually be entirely believable to me if he took off his own jacket and maybe lost it somehow. That being said the case is still pretty odd, and if someone on the crew had something to do with it, I wouldn't be surprised if someone on the police force helped with either a cover up of some sort or by just slowing down the investigation. St. John's isn't very big, everybody knows everybody, so any connections between the crew of the boat and the cops is something I think should be looked at very seriously.

Danelle if you ever do a mystery week again where you cover different types of cases you should look into the Boston’s mysterious vanishing men. There’s a couple articles online about it and there’s an interesting correlation between men vanishing around the Boston MA area and appearing days or weeks later in the water far away with “no signs of foul play”. It’s interested me for so long and I’d love to hear your input! As always amazing video ♥️♥️

Danelle, I don’t know if you got my comment from the first video, but I might still have connections in St. John’s/Newfoundland. It’s a very small place and everyone knows everyone. Let me know if you’d like to me help put you in touch.

That's a bit of a stereotype. It's a city (albeit a smaller one) and we all don't know each other.

I’m born and raised in Newfoundland and I have never heard of this case!!! I was out of the province in 2006 when this happened. Thanks for covering a local Newfoundland case!
