Plus I saw about how any crimes on cruises are much less likely to be prosecuted because so many of the male workers are from countries where rape is not taken seriously in the first place and they can just "jump ship" and go home and no one is the wiser, not only that but they can go from one cruise to another because the companies don't do background checks to make sure they aren't hiring rapists or murderers. No thank you.

@@grandcatsmama3421 Yes... so many strange disappearances (typically young women) occur on cruise ships and go unsolved. Too much booze, lowered inhibitions from the feeling you're on vacation in a "safe" place and can do whatever you want, shady employees that usually party with guests, plus legal red tape due to being in international territory/waters is a horrible combination.

Probably a small point, but the off-duty officer claimed to see "three" men leave the room after the commotion . While there were four men total accused of this disappearance, could it be possible that the fourth man wasn't in George's room, but purposely in his own room, while the other three were in fact in George's room, making those few short calls for room service in order to have a "concrete" alibi for the four men? Not sure if this matches all the timeline points, but could be something interesting...

That possibility has been looked at a lot but there hasn't been any way to confirm that or to rule it out. It does fit right up until the part about there not being a record of the room service being ordered at all. Hard to know what to make of that detail.

I've never been on a cruise , but usually when I travel with my husband (especially alone) we always keep track of each other and we're usually together. @ salma loera Jennifer ''passing out'' could have been faked by her. George wasn't her ''new husband'' they've been together and slept together FOR YEARS, and she definitely didn't seem impressed as a new bride. She seemed bored, husband slept somewhere else on their honeymoon, she woke up and went to spa without a care...and seeing how she settled behind George's parents' back, I doubt if there was any love for George at all. WHO suggested the ''honeymoon'' cruise? Yes you get excited and want to get married (for the sake of being married), yet years go by where you do everything a married couple does, except marrying. By the time that day comes, one's eyes already wandered off to some fresh and more exciting new eye candy, so cruises are the perfect way to put an end to a relationship/ and freely enter a new one with a clean sheet. Just add lots of ''new friends'' to the mix, and let them deal with the upcoming mess.

Cruise ships are soooooo shady😫

When I got schnockled on a cruise, the crew came to my room at 6 a.m., took me to an office where several officers gave me a lecture about how dangerous getting that drunk on a ship was and took away my drinking privileges for 24 hours. Super embarrassing. The incident involved me crying because I couldn't find my room the previous night. This was Royal Caribbean. I am surprised this cruise was so tolerant of all this drunken behavior considering my circumstances were pretty tame compared to this. Cruises are great but you HAVE to keep your shit together, be careful who you befriend and always watch out for eachother!

I just found your channel and after seeing some episodes I'd like to compliment you on how respectfully you talk about all people involved, even suspects. I like how you always tell when something is a personal thought or actual evidence by saying you don't know something for sure. That's not something a lot of people can do.

They might’ve only searched the solarium to make George happy that they’d gone out and searched. He was drunk so that was probably enough to settle him down.

Or they went out searched & saw her passed out in the hallway so George knew where she was & thought they’d go & get her. It wasn’t a very long search time after all. Or maybe George didn’t go with them at all cause he was already dead or passed out & they went looking for her to make sure she wouldn’t come back & catch them & found her passed out & left her there.

The dumbest thing they could have done was questioning them as a group. It’s so upsetting that stuff like the sexual assault was taken so lightly. It just got brushed off. That girl was so brave to actually speak up. Applause to her!! 👏🥺

I love how you end almost every video with some motherly advice, like “be safe”, “take care of yourselves” etc. I’m a fairly new mum myself and God I can’t even imagine the heartbreak some of these families go through, and it’s nice to hear how much someone cares. It’s so important that these cases are known about. I really hope George’s family gets the justice they deserve and find out what happened to this poor man. Thank you for making your videos to help people xXx

She probably wanted to move on and forget all of this as fast as possible but it is so disrespectful to do it behind their back, knowing that it's gonna stop the possibility of finally having justice. It was a really selfish move of her.

When they were being interviewed it was definitely a mistake to interview them all together as it’s very clear they piggy backed off what the other was saying. Also in that same video the way one guy kept saying “end of story” leads me to believe that he was trying to get his friends to not say anything else more that can possibly ruin their alibi or contradict their story.

I was all ready to think the collection of dudes had nothing to do with it, and then I heard the "end of story! End of story!" trying to drown out what one of the other guys was saying. That whole clip stank of lies. Suspicious as hell. They all sound like they're coming up with a story on the fly. Best case scenario: maybe they were all black out drunk, no one remembers what they did, and they're trying to convince themselves nothing happened. If it's not that, I could see it being that they had some other reason to come up with lies on the spot. I'd like to know which of the investigators thought it was a good idea to interview them all at the same time. This is what happens when you do that.

This only validates my reasoning for never wanting to take a cruise. I realize the likelihood of this happening to me is very slim, HOWEVER, almost *every* instance of this happening to someone has resulted in a botched investigation and that really makes me sick to my stomach. I’d be a nervous wreck the whole time. RIP George. I’m so sorry this happened.

I've watched a few crime documentaries based on cruise ships, and it's pretty clear that the cruise ship lines will do anything to remove the burden of the crime off of themselves. There is a reason why there aren't security cameras at every corner, because they don't want to be held responsible of the things that may happen while people are on board. They also have the advantage of being "on the sea", which means the jurisdictions of where the crime happened are unclear, and this alone ultimately causes any near-by countries to ignore said crime, since no one wants to spend their time on an investigation of people who: A) Are probably not even that country's citizens B) Where the crime scene and witnesses have already been compromised. I highly doubt that these "police" on board have any experience with crime investigation which is another reason why they do such a bad job. I know of multiple instances of people disappearing off of cruise ships and the investigations go nowhere, largely in part of the cruise ship lines saying "we don't know anything and we're not responsible (again because they are on the ocean; aka -- no jurisdictions = no law to uphold them)

There's actually an episode of the show Columbo made way back in the 70s that pretty accurately portrays the response of a cruise ship to a murder. (Namely, that the higher levels of the staff don't want to be inconvenienced by it.)

I remember this case when it made international news back in 2005. I cannot un-see that photo of the blood that, imo, is in the shape of George's body and how he landed. The handprint on the rail was so very disturbing because I believe it showed that George tried to hold on to stop from going into the ocean. This case has haunted me. You did the very best coverage of this case, exceeding any Dateline or 20/20. Your research and factual information along with very strong circumstantial evidence is profound and compelling. I went on one cruise with my entire family, grandparents, cousins and this was a 15 day cruise. My sister and I wanted to share a room together and there were knocks on our door from male staff members all night long. We didn't dare unlock the door, told them we didn't call for any services, anything to get them to go away. My family and my cousins (male cousins who to this day, still are protective big brothers,) decided that it wasn't safe for my sister and I to be in our room together. So, my 2 big brothers, who were both Marines, each shared a room. One in my room and the other cousin stayed with my sister in a different room, and sure enough, male crew members knocked on my door!!! My cousin opened that door so fast and upon seeing my 6'4 Marine cousin? The knocks stopped immediately. I know my comment is 4yrs late but I agree with so many of you in the comments. Cruise ships can be very dangerous and they cover up how many people do go missing but they are required to report (I'm sure anyone can find it, if you search for each cruise line) missing passengers that are assumed to have gone overboard. The numbers are alarming, not to mention robbery from crew members who pilfer through your room, harassment and unwanted advances. Great work on this very sad and terrifying crime. If you do take a cruise, please stay together, use the buddy system. If everyone wants to enjoy cocktails and let loose, plz have one person who stays totally sober that night. Much love to everyone 🩷 RIP George Allen Smith Prayers for your family and friends and all the people who loved you. 😔
