Yeah it took me ages to realise that the straight facing sprites have one asymmetrical iris. Getting the expression right was a lot easier after that lol.

If you're already using the texture then maybe try working on a fluid pose first and then work on the actual drawing? I'm not sure if this can apply to DR sprites but, usually when people say their drawings look static, it can be because there's no real energy to it or it looks stiff.

if it's too clean, you can try to add more clothing wrinkles. I think danganronpa sprites typically have an unnaturally large amount of those.

Sometimes I feel like my drawings are too clean when there isn’t enough variety in the line weight. Could help to make sure pressure sensitivity is on and that you’re varying your stroke weight with each line.

Adding clothing wrinkles is good, or you might want to try out weighted lines, which is where the outline is thicker in some places and thinner in others which you see a lot in comic books and such.

Try using an actual human body as a reference for the hands, i personally do the position i want with my own body and take that as a reference, you can also try studying anatomy! Though, i sit in the front of the class in a table of 4 and at lunch break i sit down with 2 classmates who also are in my class and my teacher also sits there, so we try drawing realistic or anime hands (anime because they know i like anime and stuff) and then also do it with shadows and all, it really helps with drawing hands especially when there’s 3 people who will give you good and honest criticism.

This might not help much, but I would simply suggest to draw often(obviously lol) and always try to learn something. If you find you find you have trouble drawing a body part, shading, or anything like that, then find references and focus on understanding it better. It's a gradual change, but the more often you do it, the more you'll improve. Sorry that this is so long, I just found it hard to first kick off with my art and start to actually be ok with it, so I hope that I can be of some help with someone else who isn't confident. I hope none of this was offensive, I only have good intentions. And one last thing in this monstrous paragraph, the change that made me enjoy my art way more was using stylized proportions, so I would suggest referencing proportions and seeing how to change them to fit your art style, while not being completely inaccurate.

Ibis paint x is the place to go cause it is what everybody is using for sprites and all of that and then there is medibang............ well that’s not for any of that well not really (this is only a better recommendation)
