Dangerous Downwind Miller's Run!

Check out this video on the world-famous Miller's Run in the beautiful Cape Town, South Africa! Winds this day were gusting up to 40 knots, and as you can see, there were times I barely had to paddle! I shared a variety of thoughts from meditation to perseverance, to calling out a couple of hyper-famous individuals - make sure you watch the whole video to find out who!

I have known Oscar for over 30 years. We have been friend and rivals, & enjoyed the power of the oceans together. In my book, if anyone deserves & has earned a lifetime paddling award, it is Oscar.

Thankyou so much for this video. I really felt your words. I have just started surf ski. And although I can't go in conditions like you yet. I just love the quietness you get away from life's dramas. And nature helps to teach you to stay calm when you're out on the water. It is truly a humbling experience been out in the ocean on surfski. Being one with nature and remembering how powerful nature can be.

I have done paddling in a seakayak, in winds around 46knots, it was safe and fun but reminded very much survival situation, where conditions are way over physical and mental limits. Your videos are always so good, and super helpful. I love your philosophy too, keeps grounded!

@@OscarChalupskySurfski hi Oscar, yes I have. He contacted me and said there was a 540xxl demo for me to try and I am arranging a pick up as he is not going to be in my part of the world soon. Hopefully I'll be picking up next week some time, really excited about trying it out. Thanks so much for arranging.

Actually we don’t have any OC1 in SA to my knowledge. It’s mainly because you have to mainly get out through waves. An OC1 should be able to do this run
