I loved the episode where 2 girls in nz climbing in snow decided to do a detour and got stuck up on a ledge in their tent & sleeping bags. Days and days of searching failed to find them & the search was called off. All hope was gone. The helicopter pilot saw the sister crying and asked her if she would like him to take her for a last fly over the mountains so she could say goodbye. INCREDIBLY he flew right in front of the ledge where they were sitting and the 2 girls looked at her face to face in the helicopter. They completely recovered too. Amazing!!

I live in Panama and have gotten myself stuck on roads in the jungle. After watching these shows, I just bought an emergency kit and will take part of it when I hike 🙏

Perhaps one thing to learn from these is to not keep going forward when something seems hinky. In other words, listen to the fear or trepidation and factually analyze the situation. Don't stop solely out of fear, but listen to it. Then see if stopping is warranted.

It’s amazing Jason being lodged between the rock walls, no matter what he did he was not getting free by himself, until he thought his buddy was dead, gave him super human strength to free himself.

So glad Ben completely recovered. Their greatest treasure is the love they have for each other. This is a great reenactment. Incredible that they were found. Good on the wife. Whenever in a risk of hyperthermia at night and especially with someone injured the best thing to do is to keep warm by lying close together. Also it’s a psychological protection to have someone there. Whoever creates these re-enactments is absolutely brilliant. I hope they get rewarded justly. I have been recovering from surgery for 2 Years and during that time I have been inspired to keep going, press on, hope and pray for a miracle. And it takes my mind off my worries and gives me some hours of peace. Also when they first get into trouble I stop the movie and try to think if it was me what would I do. Also I think about what the successful people have in common, what mistakes are they making, did they pray to God for help. Mostly I think that mostly people are successful in staying safe but sometimes things go wrong. It’s life. What amazes me is sometimes it’s an incredible piece of totally unexpected luck. I could go on & on......

Holy its so lucky the wife was able to pull up where they were going ! I've been to the slot canyons many times and they are a maze with sooo many routes. The beginner ones are really fun as long as you don't get lost ! Always take a sat phone into the wilderness where u won't have service and survival equipment. First aid is a great idea and a flash light could've signaled to rescuers and helicopter

This should be titled "The 3 stooges go hiking."

Jason: “I also didn’t know what I’d do alone in the car for 3-4 hours.” Uhh, not almost die in a canyon, for starters. Have a wank and a snooze or something lol. If he had gone back to the car, he coulda got them help sooner. “Hey, let’s abseil down some shi we can’t get back up on a route I’m not familiar with as your first experience canyoneering!” Ben was a dope for bringing two chubby, out of shape buds on a trip like this. He shoulda at least taken them to a rock climbing gym a few times. Bladders suck, especially for canyon/desert environments. Steel or at least thicker aluminum bottles are best. I trust my gut and am not be afraid to annoy myself or ppl in my group for turning around. A real friend won’t get mad. F those that do. Better to stay safe than to be a temporary grease spot in the wilderness.

The two climbers with no experience had no business in that rough of a terrain, they should have trusted their instict. They knew their limits. Never should have let Ben, a fairly experienced climber talk them into anything. And Jason should have just stayed home. If your heart isn't in that, to me you have zero business out there. And man, let's go in a dangerous place, in the middle of nowhere with little equipment and no emergency gear. Great idea! My wife wouldn't let me out of the house until I had everything I needed packed and it's working.

I could only hope to have a group of friends like these guys.

The acting was awesome

I see many people commenting on this show about the quality of the actors and effects, but I have to say the people that do the music are at the top of their game.

If you’re not sure about the way to go, the leader should check the path whilst the others stay put. Ego got these guys in a lot of trouble. You’re not weak for being careful.

Another amazing production of a survival story, and the acting was so, so good 👏 👏 👏

Why they just went the same way back they are coming from?

I love these stories where suspense accompany the knowledge that (mostly) all protagonists of the story make it alive. A reminder: it's thanks to the unpreparedness and errors of trekkers/climbers/sailors/cave divers etc that we can enjoy those incredibly well re-enacted stories from the comfort of an armchair.

I'm happy to watch this comfortably in my bed knowing that I will never make this stupid mistake

So many things are wrong here. The moment they had to start shimming off the ground they should have started questioning if they were on the right path. guess that's par for the course in this country though. Then they keep trying to go forward through exhausting stuff without being 100% sure the sick guy could do it.

I kept thinking, why not have one guy hike his way out, then i remembered, stay put when you're in these situations. That's probably what saved their lives.

I have been watching these episodes non stop every day.. & i can feel the impact its having on my mental state lol if you are also watching this non stop, check out the stranded in the ocean episodes, the one where the rescue crew was attempting to rescue a sailor in a hurricane & they decided it was too risky to save him so they aborted the rescue mission & on their way back to base, they ran out of gas & had to ditch the helicopter, & they were swimming in the ocean with 100 foot waves & they got rescued by the coast guard, imagine if they decided to rescue the sailor maybe things would change

I can't stand people who can't admit when they've made a mistake. They should have gone back the way they came when the one guy realized he'd made a mistake but instead he withheld information from them about where they were and continued on with the mistake at the risk of their lives. I'd never speak to him again after that if I were them.

I still cannot believe that these guys put themselves in this kind of predictament to not realize the real thing here that caused them soo many problems and issues. It's like touching something thats hot or stepping on glass. What is really going on with people's understandings to make such poor choices and not realize better things? You know I've gone through alot in my life with people dieing around me and yet I'm still alive makeing better choices bc of the simpleness of knowing the difference between things. I've even crushed a man with my own car accidently while driving and I still believe that people make their own choices to realize the difference between all things.

I used to be a mountain climber so I know the feeling of not wanting to go back which is considered a failure. However , the reason why they didn't go back the same way they came in was because it was getting late and dark plus they descended a steep canyon with a rope which would have been impossible to climb back up. The leader of the group did the right thing to climb up as quickly as possible, too bad the very last part was unclimbable. The love of his two friends kept him alive! 🤗💖💝

. the one who freaked out, shocked, froze and kept saying "he's dead, he's dead" and kept saying shit like that throughout their ordeal... he was also the guy expecting a fourth child soon- that says a lot about him . .
