We caught word of a secret cabin in the backcountry on Vancouver Island. Naturally we had to take our SAS'd Toyota pickup on a wheeling adventure to try and find it. We encountered a series of obstacles that got increasingly difficult until we reached on that was either going to ruin the truck, and our day by leaving us stranded, or it was going to lead to the cabin.
The truck we're in today we call The Yeti, it's a 1986 Toyota pickup with the following mods:
2wd to 4wd conversion
22re with 4 speed
Dual transfer cases with twin sticks
Custom front bumper from Westcan Offroad Design
Custom rock sliders from Fabsall
5.29 Yukon Gears F/R
Lock right lockers F/R
Custom thick wall driveshafts from Western Driveline
TG rear bumper
OTT Hi Steer with FJ80 "555" tie rod ends and ARP knuckle studs
Big brake upgrade/braided brake lines
37x12.5x15 Interco TrXus tires
Currently on 15x10 Daytona Steelies painted bronze
Mint interior with custom center console and wicked stereo set-up
Magnaflow 2.5" exhaust with stainless tip
Bilstein 14" 5125 shocks
Runva XP11500 Winch, synthetic rope and wireless remote

If pulled straight its super strong but pulled at an angle it is far far less. Luckily your truck is not heavy and it wasn't swamped adding to the weight There are a few videos on YT showing them fail also I recommend watching Ronny Dahl's Winch video.

I just found you channel and really enjoyed the video. We're from the mountains of western NC, so not a lot of snow, but some fair off-roading. I just sold a flat-deck, single cab 1988 4x4 Yota for an upgrade to a access cab Gen1 4x4. I have a pretty much stock 1990 runner but never knew it could be an icebreaker. I was probably more nervous than you when you committed to go for it. Wowsirrs what an exciting adventure. Nice rig and your video got my attention and focus as if I were there. Happy trails

I am discovering this channel on a backroad spot I am camping at in the back of my Toyota Hiace. So cool. Do they make tire chains for tires that size?? Used them for the first time today and it’s insane the amount of snow traction they give to a good AT tire
@ToyotaWorldRunners
@ToyotaWorldRunners 2 жыл бұрын
That's awesome man, thanks for tagging along! Chains are great, and yes they make them for 37s and even bigger! The thing with chains that I've found is that they're great for digging down to earth to find traction, and they do. When the snow get's suuper deep (as you'll see in an upcoming video) you want to try and "float" and stay on top, and at that point chains lose their usefulness. Cheers for watching 🍻🤙

I know, I felt bad not putting in the shots... It's big conflict honestly. Cabins around here are often getting vandalized, burnt down and subjected for removal by forestry companies.
