Thanks for not naming this place. I havent surfed there in over 30 years and I recognized it almost right away. It was always small when ever I was there. As mentioned this is a rare day at this break and the funny thing is if youve spent any time driving up and down the coast youve probable driven by this spot. With the right tide, swell and conditions almost any place can be magic at least once in awhile

Yes, used to drive by there all the time to at least check it. There's a kind of a peak in the middle on smaller days, but going left on a big day is sketchy as eff.

I was there watching them surf from beachside. They literally launch off of first rock. If you don’t know what you’re doing. You get bashed against the second rock. Huge swells that week.

when i see waves like this it makes me wonder how a little reef building or removal of rock could change the wave for better.

I think scientists or somebody should work to find out how exactly this happens so we're able to build piers to make waves better

I often think the same. But then again...it is what it is...looks pretty fun to me. Great place to share some waves with your mates Close together in the take off zone....sharing the stoke, telling a few porkie pies. Maybe a little more offshore might smarten it up a bit..days like this in the water are classic. We can build anything now. Let's stop fucking with the planet and especially Our Mother Ocean. Stay well.

Changing the rocks/reef could really help the wave. However, based on my knowledge of humans trying to control and modify nature, it may likely do more harm than good.

We were surf/camping there when they filmed Karate Kid, It was big enough that the 2nd peak was pumping and you could ride it half way to Zero's.

Look surfing is my favorite activity/ sport but unfortunately it’s become everything we feared back in the day ( Ya I’m an older guy) Commercialized and over crowded and thanks to the internet the concept of a secret spot is just a dream for the most part. I still love it but I’m glad I grew up surfing in Hawaii where I lived in the 70s when 10 guys out was a crowd. I know, I sound like the bitter old guy but young guys talk about the future and old guys talk about the past. “You should of been here yesterday “ 😹

I really liked those waves. I work in the desert in Saudi Arabia. That oily swell and sort of wedging section left and right there gave me something to dream about. Remind me of better times. It is a nice video.

Exactly. It only works on a strong south southwest swell particularly on a high tide. Very fickle And all the so-called locals think this is some kind of a secret spot. Blows me away
