I’m not a stay at home mom. But I love biblical headship. Praise God he is sovereign over every situation. I am thankful for your logical and realistic outline of our roles. Thank goodness forshocking submission. My job and support of my family financially is part of my role. I consider a field and buy it. Please don’t pigeonhole your sisters who submit through service of financial support and do not relegate any of their motherly duties. The woman of proverbs is what God created her to be. Thank you for who you are. And praise God for who we are. Shout out to my submissive Godly rock sisters who go every day with confidence that they wash socks and lead by submission. And bring home the bacon. Which their husbands thank God for.

Thank you , i really did learn much, but... have to give an objection I am a wife of an unbeliever, I am learning to be submissive and want to be submissive. he was controlling and still stuggling with jealousy , he controlled my every move , what I wore, and kept me away from everyone with excuses and munipilating , I picked up alot of weight, I was unneat ,looked homeless and then my dad stepped in. My husband has changed much and I am thankfull. If I had to ask him what he wants, he will fall back and take advantage. I have my personality back again , and to ask him if he wants me to excersice (which takes 30 min and at no cost)or do something his way , he will take advantage and have a foot hold. I was in an emotional abusive Marraige

Sorry to hear that, hopefully things have gotten better. Yes submission can be wrought with abuse , "a narcissist dream" ( “Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely”) not many on here would like admit it, or admit it to themselves for that matter. Admit its happening or its happened ( who wants to rock the boat - God forbid the church or congregation would find out your dirty laundry? )

In my case, you are right. I'm not a feminist. I wonder if people ever think of this, though, but looking at the history, even from times with suffragettes, feminism didn't develop on a vacuum. It was a response to something, not a good response, but a reaction to something nonetheless and it's not loving, benevolent male leadership.

submittere is where submit comes from. it also means send under. submission should be thought of as a sub mission. Men are uniquely responsible to be in sub mission to God on His mission and a woman's place is to be on this same mission as her husband but her mission is a sub mission of his mission. helpful?
@cryptojihadi265
@cryptojihadi265 4 ай бұрын
'Submit', not 'mission', is the root of 'submission'. Submit coming from the Latin submittere, as you pointed out. Mittere being the root of that word, which means to place or put. So combined with sub, it means to put or place under. Going to the English word submission and trying to use mission as the root word, totally changes the meaning. Mission which comes from the Latin Missio, and has nothing more to do with mittere: to place or put, than kitten has to do with kitchen. Sure, they share a lot of letters between them, but their meanings aren't even in the same ballpark. But these are the logical hoops people jump through to try to get the Bible to not say what it actually says. Just proving the western church is under submission to the Jezebel spirit, not Christ, who IS the Word. Feminism has done such a great job of demonizing the word submit(ONLY when it comes to women) that even the Church is scared to death to quote any scripture that contains that word in regards to women, without going through what you just did to change the meaning to something more palatable. I'll never forget one of the more egregious examples I heard, was a sermon, by a normally very good and solid pastor. He preached on the verse about women submitting to their husbands, and by the end of the sermon, we all understood, that verse actually means men need to submit to their wives. What's ironic is feminism convinced women it was slavery and bondage to submit to their husbands, who took a vow to love and cherish them, but it was freedom to submit to a boss who has no affinity for them, nor did he take a vow to love and protect them. All so she can become a cog in a corporate machine, that can be easily discarded when it suits them. Somehow, THAT submission, is perfectly fine.
@JR-rs5qs

@cryptojihadi265 whatever, bud. Not trying to make the word fit my own narrative. All missions are under the One giving the mission. Women have a mission as well, but it's under their husband's authority and it's oriented toward her household, rather than to outside the home. Trying to outpatriarch me is schismatic and dumb.
@cryptojihadi265
@cryptojihadi265 4 ай бұрын
@@JR-rs5qs but mission has nothing to do with submit. So your entire post is meaningless in relation to the topic of this video and YOUR initial assertion about what submission means. You start with the su mission premise but then go on about a sub mission. Two completely different words. But the wife's sub mission, if you do want to address a completely different topic is to support and care for her husband. To be his helper.

Be careful about telling women to run to their pastors and side step their husbands, even if their husbands ask them to sin. Often, women cause their husbands to stumble into sin. We can work out most problems in marriage without running to others a lot of times so be careful about just letting people in for any reason at all, at any time. Husbands and wives should agree upon who they speak to about their issues before one just goes and does it.

Whom is this speech aimed at? This definitely would not get anyone opposing the idea to come to terms with it. The way she talks about submission is too abstract and depends too much on other's interpretation. "Submission is different for everyone"? And is compromise a bad thing now?
@jtpcwife1486
@jtpcwife1486 3 жыл бұрын
Her speech is aimed at Christian married women and I think when she says submission is different for everyone, this is because we all have different husbands (therefore we can’t exactly compare our ways of submission to other marriages). I also don’t think this speech was to get the opposing side to come to terms with it, but more for Christian married women to actually step up and do the hard deed of submitting to their husbands. And as far as compromising being bad, idk? I don’t know what to think of that idea yet. I know for sure that the world will tell you that compromising is the right answer. But for biblical submission I think it depends entirely on the specific situation and how strongly your husband may feel. I hope this makes sense! God bless ☺️

Indoctrination? Yes! Absolutely! That's what the apostles commanded in Jesus name. The world is indoctrinating all the time. We ought to be indoctrinating ourselves from scripture, our children and those who are walking the path God is directing with us. If you stand against that perhaps you need to get a little closer to Jesus yourself.

Shouldn't women only submit themselves to men that have fully submitted themselves to God? How is a man able to lead his family the way God intended, without constantly seeking guidance from God. God should be the center of a husband's and wife's life period, therefore marrying an unbeliever should never be a thing #Unequally_Yoked 🙅🏽‍♀️

Yes. If you're husband is unsaved you do not have to submit to him, only to God BUT you need to surround yourself with wise Christian women becuase it is easy to decieve ourselves that we're submitting to God in a situation when really it's our own flesh or wose being used by the enemy. God may at times tell you to submit to your unbelieving husband.

There is some good stuff here, but you can definitely tell she lives in a bit of a bubble, as all her examples of submission are fairly simple, and aren't likely to lead to destruction and divorce. For example, I like to listen to Dave Ramsey's call-in show, and wives call in asking for advice because the husband is making unwise financial decisions (usually going deeply into debt for either "toys" or a business). Should a wife in this position "submit," even though these decisions, though not necessarily sinful (maybe he thinks he is making a good business investment), have a high likelihood of leading to the destruction of the family's finances and even divorce? This is a difficult, real world example, and I'm not hearing any real answer here.

According to biblical command to submit yes. It doesnt say "Submit...unless...". The best thing to do in that situation is to pray and let the Spirit work.
@Goshawk-zh2pt
@Goshawk-zh2pt 4 жыл бұрын
Again, this is a difficult, real world situation. Simply saying "Yes, submit" is going to give women a wrong impression about their ability to act in a serious situation. Perhaps a better question is how best to love (biblically) your spouse in a situation like this? I would hope, if a husband and wife are in a good church, that the wife would feel comfortable going to her pastor/elders. Unfortunately, these situations, if never resolved, do often lead to divorce. Dave Ramsey has been giving people money advice for 30 years, and he usually tells these callers as much.
@katiegodinho2275
@katiegodinho2275 4 жыл бұрын
Dave Ramsey is awesome. I like listening to him. And I like that he gives it straight. We need to never underestimate the power of prayer and the power of the Spirit. If the husband is a believer and sensitive to the Spirit, than the wife never needs to take action and try to be the head. As a wife Ive seen the Holy Spirit work in powerful ways just by me praying instead of trying to take action when, as hard as it is to admit, is not my place. Most marriages are a pretty balanced partnership and the husband welcomes feedback and poor decisions, but if he isn't open than we need to let Christ work simply because He is much more powerful and wise than we are. And He doesn't condone divorce except for sexual sin. So if finances are causing divorce than there are deeper issues on both the wife and husbands part. First start with prayer, real prayer. Then if need be approach a pastor or leader who can speak truth and wisdom in to both husband and wife.
@anselman3156
@anselman3156 4 жыл бұрын
Rather than divorce, might 1 Corinthians 7. 11 allow for a separation from a badly behaving husband? The normal rule is not to depart (I suppose meaning the command is not to seek permanent separation/divorce), but it is immediately followed by a seeming concession allowing for separation in some circumstances, always open to reconciliation.
