I think they should hold onto these other designs and use them as variations of the species. like how we have crocodiles with thick snouts and bulky bodies, then crocs with thin snouts and skinny bodies.

The Ancient Godzilla that turned into Shimo is an awesome design that could be reused, and I'd love to see Fosphera given an actual role in a film or show. Maybe have it be revealed that she's an extraterrestrial Titan like King Ghidorah was and in-fact could have accidentally led KG to Earth in the past. Also, the fish-like/aquatic Verticines remind me of something you'd have seen in the Subnautica franchise.

I feel like shimo definitely could've been scarier! I think her being so ancient could've lead to an even creepier design. Either way, I'm happy with what we got.

Wingard's claim that the plan to always use Mothra doesn't mean he wouldn't film the movie using Phosphera first. Like he said, they had to wait in the rights approval. You're still gonna make the film in the meantime with what you've got. So yeah, you're gonna film with Phosphera first and make changes after if your wish to use Mothra gets granted

If Mothra was always the original plan, would he not have used her name during screening and only put in Phosphura's as voice-overs? Additionally he should have remembered to change the Phosphura mural if he was so set on getting the rights to Mothra.

@@yissibiiyte It is what it is I think he always intended Mothra to be in the movie in his mind, but it didn’t seem like that was going to happen until he got the support of the people who watched the test screenings

@yissibiiyte I already covered that. Just because Mothra was always the plan does not mean you can execute that plan. The studio would not allow any director to spend time and money on a character they do not yet have the rights to. Phosphera was the safest bet at the time. What Wingard wanted and what he could actually do are different things. So again, yes his plan was always to have Mothra in the film. But he didn't have Mothra yet.

I got to meet Jared Krichevsky, the artist who helped finalize the designs for Skar King, Shimo, Godzilla Evolved, Mechagodzilla, and even Mechagodzilla from Ready Player One, at G-Fest this year. He seemed like a really nice guy who was thrilled to get to work with these giant monsters, and he even signed a print of Godzilla Evolved for me! I also asked him if he took any inspiration from Godzilla 2000 for Godzilla Evolved and he did confirm the inspiration. I love these early concept designs, especially Ice Godzilla (I would have loved to see another of Godzilla's species in some form or another), but I'm really happy with all we got. So excited for Godzilla x Kong 3!

Titanus Phosphora design is amazing & beautiful, but sadly she didn't appear alongside Mothra in GxK The New Empire. I hope Phosphora will officially appear in the GxK 3rd sequel movie & see her become an ally to Kong & Shino, right👍

Phosphera looks way better in the size chart page, looking more Owl like than the winged alien goat we saw at first. I think with tweaking of the proportions, posture, blending some traits in better, she could fit in among the Hollow Earth Pantheon. In fact, rather than waste the idea, I'd love to see her team up with Mothra. And I do believe Phosphera always was meant to be a fallback, because so far we've not seen any concept art of her other than the two leaks and the size chart, there's more Mothra in the art book than Phosphera. I feel like some of the unused Skar King traits could have gone into the other apes.

My guess if Fosphera makes it into the MonsterVerse: She will be an alien kaiju that comes down to Earth as a protector. And her species was the inspiration for accounts of the Seraphim due to their angelic appearance.

Fospheria would be cool if they made it an alien that people translate to angel. Have her in place of mothra would have made it different and linked to ghidorah since he was also an alien. And maybe they are responsible for the hallow earth energy source which caused the titans to exist. And I would also have preferred an ancient much bigger older gohi species. I like shimu but I'm not a fan of her design and usage. And it would have been cool to see godzilllas reaction to seeing another one of his species.

@@bgrov40 I agree. I think he was a cool villain, but should've posed more of a threat (to Kong, at least, if not to Godzilla). Other than threat, I really like the concept of a dark-mirror, tyrannical counterpart to Kong. Also, I just really like his red design.

The original monster villain from Kong Skull Island was supposed to be amphibious and serpentine. I guess they did research because the Drown Vipers fit the EXACT description. Also, if dinosaurs existed in Hollow Earth, what would they be like?

Shimo looked kinda dopy in the movie with its big snout. The Concept art of an Old Godzilla ancestor that has to walk on all 4s and is pale white with blue is so much better. It makes more sense as to why Godzilla had to evolve to fight it.
