Carl, reach out to my friend and former vocal coach Eli Prinsen. he is a great guy and great teacher. I think he would add a lot of value to your viewers.

Wow! and you got Karyn as well! I see now that I've been away from your channel too long. I got a few lessons with Karyn, and her technical knowledge of the voice apparatus is unbeatable. You're doing great Carl! Congrats!

And what I said is an understatement, you're a walking encyclopedia on the subject... Let's begin with your writings about Open Throat, which about 3-4 years ago they changed for good the way I sing, and trully continues to get better for me. Thank you!

Daniel's "sing to a baby" video is one of my favorites. I need more insight into that kind of skill set... singing loud parts softly and how to build that control.

Maybe try working on more challenging songs to curb the lack of motivation you are sometimes feeling. I feel extremely motivated for the last 15 years cos I have a massive amount of songs that are highly challenging to choose from, making it impossible to be bored.

I agree, I think regardless though the better you get the harder it can become generally to motivate yourself to work.

Carl Wehden I've had the opposite, as the better I get at copying songs, the faster I learn new songs, making me more obsessed to learn challenging stuff that I had shelved in the past due to it being too hard previously. For example here is a song list of songs and artists that are incredible (my genre). Maybe make something similar for your genre. rnbsinginglessons.com/#challengingsongs

Franco Corelli taught but supposedly he wasn't a very good teacher. It does seem like the greatest singers rarely make great teachers.
@cwehden
@cwehden 6 жыл бұрын
that's typically because they've never experienced singing being difficult it's very hard to fix something that you haven't been through yourself, it can be done but it's much more difficult.
@paulmontesanti813

Totally agree. Corelli was probably exactly as you describe. He actually never really had a teacher (he took a few lessons here and there, including some lessons with a teacher who ruined his voice and forced him to stop singing for six months). But he was essentially self taught. If you can self-teach yourself into being the greatest tenor of your generation, you probably have a pretty solid starting foundation.
