I can't point my finger at exactly why but his music is just so extremely emotional. I think it's the rawness of it. His stuff makes me cry sometimes.

This song lives only in souls. It was born deep in Daniel's soul, and it transfers to the listeners soul on first listen, without diversion.

Somethings last a long time. They get in you and they swirl and paint upon your pallet an understanding for our brothers and sisters out here in the world with us and of ourselves. Somethings are just true to the experience of life and this song is one of those things. The truths in this song are universal to our experiences in this human state. He had a tremendous ability to locate and express that through all the struggles he had getting through our weird wild world and I am forever grateful for that as it is a gift he gave each of us. RIP Dan, you're always remembered and forever loved by so many, thank you for what you shared.

I think this was the first time I was ever a "single tear" person lol. This is my favorite song of his and to see him shaking and struggling to get through it brought a tear to my eye. Love him or hate him he was authentic and full of passion and no one can ever take that away. I am grateful for this. I am grateful for him.

He had manic depression. Later developed full on schizophrenia, due to a horrible mixture of pain, drugs, and a lack of understanding. No dementia, just a lot of fucking hardships.
