I spoke with Dominic Cruz today after the comments he made at media day. We sat down and had a honest conversation about our opinions amongst other things. Also a little about his fight. We also got joined by the special ref Micheal BISPING lol. Was fun and good to sit with em!

In all seriousness Dominic is wrong here. Whatever issue he has with DC should have been discussed privately. Dominic dissing or trashing DC to the media breaks every man code or friendship between coworkers. To be it comes across as Dominic is pissed that DC gets paid more than him while he does less work than him. If I were DC I will watch what I see around Dominic from now on. If Dominic can say that about DC to the media imagine what he would say behind DC back where DC can't defend himself. For everyone Dominic is the type of coworker you don't hangout with but just keep it all business while at work.

If they're like nearly best friends, I get it. If they're just friendly colleagues, I really understand Dom's point. I like DC on commentary but soooo often he seems to miss seeing the forest through the trees. The number of times DC will be commentating the fight focusing on only one of the fighters, completely miscoring the fight is getting more and more frequent. And tbh, it seems like because no one has called him on it, he's decided it's fine and it's gotten worse and worse. Dom focused in on the lack of watching film, but he seemed to be getting at the larger point of DC's biased commentary. Look, they're ringside, I don't expect the commentators to always accurately represent a fight but that's why they need to be more reserved and less blatantly biased. Dom said nothing harsh and was offering constructive criticism. And based on DC's point of bring private convos public, it sounds like they HAVE talked about this privately. At some point bringing it up casually in the public is the right move if anything is ever going to change. I'd bet DC's commentary becomes more focused and less biased now, at least in the short term. I understand DC feeling the sting a little but we all know he's gotten way too loose subjectively, and it never would have made any difference no matter how many fans brought it up. It had to be a colleague, and really only Dom would have ever been willing to do it. This is a net positive not some bro code violation.

DC only knows loyalty, trust and brotherhood. Dom doesn't fully understand these values to the extent that DC does. Dom made statements that went far beyond criticism, like DC is just doing it for a paycheck. Even if DC didn't watch film, Dom could have told him in private, rather than making those statements in public. Dom isn't wrong that DC could probably prepare more and devote more time to watching film, but his approach is unprofessional and a breach of trust/friendship. Also, Dom is not DC's boss lol

Finally someone I agree with, Dom is wrong for going public but he’s entitled to his own opinion. However I think DC’s jovial nature is perfect for the commentating booth. Its a great equalizer between Anik’s analytical straightforward nature & Bispings/Doms wit. Joe Rogan serves the same purpose. Paul Felder is a mellow well-rounded analytical commentator as well. DC is also an olympic wrestler, he understands ground game better and explains it well. Dom didn’t think of all of this, its about the Chemistry.

If you don't listen then you need to do something that will make you do something, I think this is a good move from Dominic and shows he cares for DC. DC needs to work harder on commentary, you can't forget fighters names, being biased and don't prepare yourself for important fights. Whatever truth there may be to that accusation (and I do use the word "accusation") it's something that could potentially take food out of his kids' mouths. It's perfectly acceptable for a brother to tell you *privately* that you need to up your game, and honestly I appreciate that kind of honesty, but to put someone on blast publicly over things that are *central* to their career is unnecessary and if he could drop his defensive, condescending tone for one second I think he'd realise that. Let me break this down in a nutshell. Domanick struggles to hold accountability for his actions due to the to the fact he has a more than grandeur opinion of himself. Dom struggles with accepting he is wrong, because he believes he's truly great. The truth is, his head is too far up his arse for him to ever consider himself to be incorrect or morally wrong in any given circumstance. Dom is anything but humble and lacks an ounce of humility, he has no boundaries in what he says about others because he feels entitled to express his opinion based on his own self preserved level of importance and doesn't believe he can ever be incorrect. Daniel, a person like you who's heart strong needs to be around more people like yourself, such as Khabib. You need to associate with people who're humble and appreciate you, people who're able to hold accountability for their actions and be more considerate with you in mind. People take your big heart and warm kindness as a weakness and they often don't show you enough appreciation because of this, and it sucks. Keep your head held high Daniel and don't feel discouraged by what Dom said, you're more than just an all time great fighter, you're a fantastic commentator, and a fantastic person.

how is shitting on your colleague/brother to the media and then saying i love you to his face genuine?

@@ReforestEarth Cruz said the same thing in the public press conference as he did to DC’s face. That’s genuine. It’s shitty for sure, but was genuine. But I was really referring to the spirit between the three of them when they get together.

@@ReforestEarth they love each other man They just bullshitting as friends, even though some of the stuff is serious. They aren’t straight up pissed at each other, they are working it out. It’s awesome, I mean they are all fighters they didn’t even get aggressive. These guys are bros for sure

Three of my all time favorite fighters. Dom was my first favorite fighter. Way back to the first Uriah Faber fight. When he tapped there was a fire there that comes through still to this day but back then it showed me that he had that true fighting spirit. From that fight he went on a tear. Love that guy as a fighter.

Two belts is all the preparation DC will ever need. He's observant, charismatic, and funny. Let's be honest, when it is a team of three people on the desk, not everybody needs to be a historian.

So observant that he spent atleast a minute talking about barbershops during a fight last week. Being a good fighter doesn't mean your a good commentator

It's not about being a historian. That would be about past fighters. It's about present day fighters currently fighting.
