What a step by step process of making the 3d printer with old CD ROM and floppy drive mechanisms you have made. Super guide to make a 3 d printer at home. I have not seen the description part of your video to gather more information on the parts andtheir sourcing. Further I will go through the description for the software part also. Kudos and a great salute to the efforts you have put.

Congratulazioni : é l'ennesimo progetto che ammiro su KZfaq e l'invidia per la bravura e l'inventiva da un pezzo han lasciato spazio all'ammirazione piú completa. to do this project,make sure that the motor of the DVD drive is the stepper motor and not the DC motor or else it is more difficult to control

Ciao Daniele , non ho parole per descrivere la meraviglia che provo ogni volta che vedo un tuo progettino, a parte la cura che metti nella realizzazione, che ormai e un tuo standard, l'inventiva nel riutilizzare cose di tutti i giorni per fare cose sempre nuove è degna del ,migliore Mc Gyver. Tutto quello che hai chiesto alla fine del video è interessante, anche perchè con poche modifiche lo puoi adattare ad hardware più grandi che permettano di aumentare la dimensione di stampa. L'aggiunta di display e del lettore di SD card penso che sia una cosa molto più utile del wifi e del bluetooth, anche se dal punto di vista prettamente didattico ogni argomento citato nei post qui sotto è interessante, scatola e supporto per le bobine sono cose che chiunque può fare, software , programmazione e sbroglio dei problemi invece li vedo un po' più in salita, almeno per me e probabilmente per molti di noi da questa parte del monitor. Ciao e teniamo duro! ( cantiamo vittoria molto sottovoce, pur sapendo che la vita è un lampo e prenderlo..il coronavirus naturalmente, è un attimo) P.S. ottima la battuta delle mani più veloci del west! Ci ho fatto una grassa risata!

Sono rimasto colpito dal sistema di ancoraggio dell'hotend, per abitudine non ci avrei pensato due minuti a fare una "clamp" in 3D e invece hai usato un sistema più semplice e rapido! Le prime aggiunte che farei sono proprio relative al raffreddamento del filamento estruso, stampa offline e un piccolo vetro da mettere sul piatto. Comunque veramente bel progetto, complimenti!

Well done. Solid frame, bed adhesion seems good, results are very good. You've made a solid 3D printer. I would recommend improving it by 3D printing new parts, at least to replace the wooden parts.

Hi Daniele, this is far the best 3D printer using old DVDROM and floppy driver I have seen untin now. The assembly is really impressive and I liked several ideas employed on that. Well, I would like give to you some suggestions: why not make a chassis using structural profiles instead regular aluminum profiles and plates? Not all people around the world have the same impressive set of tools, ability to use them. Ok, the structural profiles would not give the same beautifull sight, but work with them is easy thanks to the big variety of connetctors and other acessories. And instead of fix the pieces of wood over heads of the the trolleys, one alternative way is to remove the optics and electronics from DVDs and fill the grooves with polyester resyn (the one used to repair car bodywork) or other kind of plastic resin that can be sanded before dry. And n the flopy, the lower R/W head can be also removed. Doing so you will have a big clear and plain area to drill holes and place screws to fix the other parts over them resulting in a more sturdy assembly and nice sight. I have done this procedure in my parts and works fine! By last, have you thought of make a universal chassis? It could be used to other kinds of micro CNCs like engraver and plotter just changing some parts.
