I think this is the video that is going to convince me to make the purchase. Been looking around, listening, watching videos, looking at instrument lists for all kinds of products. This really showcases what Albion can do and I love what I'm hearing. Honestly a steal at that price too. Just want to say thank you for uploading this video. There are a lot of people who are very interested in these kinds of products, so they want something like this.

Awesome Demo! Thanks a lot for this presentation and taking the time to turn every little thing in this library! Edit: After a year time, I finally was able to purchase this wonderful library (the 10th Anniversary Edition which is even nicer). Thanks Daniel for going over it in such detail! Cheers!

Awesome walkthrough Daniel, your piece sounds epic! Well done! I wonder if you have bought any other spitfire libraries? I am looking at choosing one or two libraries, but I've been having a hard time deciding which one. Albion One, Symphonic Strings, and Studio Strings are amongst the few I am eyeing on. What are your thoughts? Your advice will be highly appreciated. Thank you! :)

Awesome video! Perhaps you could do one that goes a little more deeply into mixing orchestral sample packs (i.e. panning, grouping, reverb etc). What i'd really love to know is do you find you have to pan much with Albion (I'll be buying it very soon), or does the original tracking provide a good sound stage?? Keep up the great work!

Is the fact that it only has ensemble patches rather than separate instruments ever a problem? On strings, is it not easy to quickly go beyond the number of notes a real section would actually play? What about the divisi issue for realism?

Hi Daniel - I've been enjoying you videos for nearly 6 months now and I've almost seen them all now. It's nice to see your progression as a composer and it's inspiring me to follow my own dream to do the same thing and I wanted to ask a question I'm sure you get asked all the time.... If you started right now with approximately a £2000 budget what packages/combinations would you get to be able to use: solo and ensemble brass/winds/strings and percussion, sound effects, choir and ethnic instruments? The full albion package looks great as in 1-4, symphobia looks like a favourite of yours and I've heard you recommend Komplete on other videos. MOTU ethno 2 looks like a favourite of a lot of guys but there seems to be a lack of solo or small ensemble classical packages (always sold separately) ... Anyone else recommend a specific set. I'm thinking blockbuster movie soundtrack to intimate ensemble to small ethnic group. Is it possible??? Thanks for reading :)

+Dervish Capkiner You'll def need the Native Instruments Kontakt 5 to use almost every sample instrument made in recent memory..including Albion, which is what your hearing him play on here within Kontakt. Most of the best sample libraries require Kontakt to be able to use them. I'd say Komplete 10 is a MUST. I think Kontakt alone costs $199 if you buy it alone. Tho if you have zero interest in learning any kind of synthesis and only want to mess with sample instruments within Kontakt I'd just buy Kontakt. But if you think you'll use ANYTHING else Komplete is a steal.

I'm not much into producing Orchestral stuff so I don't feel comfortable giving advice. That being said....I've heard great things about the East/West libraries. And from personal experience I can tell you Omnisphere 2 is AMAZING at everything from vocal choir sounds, synths, strings, brass, to crazy psycoacoustic sounds....but it's a high $ instrument by itself. Can't say enough about Omisphere. Other than that I just use the stock NI Session strings and Brass in Kontakt if I need orchestral sounds. But mainly I'll use Omnisphere.
@DrumsSnowSkateSoft
@DrumsSnowSkateSoft 8 жыл бұрын
+Dereck Dunn East West Libraries are great, but not for everyone. the Play engine is a nuisance to deal with, and while East West libraries do sound great, they take a lot of programming and attention to detail in order to get them sounding remotely convincing. they are a good price (you can actually get the entire collection of east west products for a 30 dollar per month subscription service now) but keep in mind it takes quite a good computer to get the most out of their products. I personally would recommend Albion ONE, komplete ultimate, and for a choir library, strezov sampling storm choir 2 is absolutely incredible, the full package is definitely worth it and id highly recommend it. i will warn you though, it isnt always wise to go ahead and buy a ton of libraries in bulk. Komplete Ultimate is worth getting, but i wouldnt go ahead and get all of the Albions right off the bat. start with Albion ONE, see how you like it, and then you can complete the bundle. Spitfire allows you to complete the bundle if you already own one of the products, so you can still get the other libraries at a discounted price. I bought Albion 1 (the original) two years ago and at first i was not really a big fan, but it grew on me over time. I think if i bought all of them at once i wouldve been a bit overwhelmed, and a part of me thinks i would feel a bit dissapointed. thats a lot of money to drop all at once on products you havent used before, and if you really dont like one of them, theres a bigger chance you wont like all of them, and you just blew 1000 dollars. also, i would consider waiting a little on komplete ultimate and find out when komplete ultimate 11 comes out. 10 wasnt a big upgrade from 9, but seeing the new products that NI has been putting out in the past year and future releases, there is going to be a lot of new stuff coming in the next version of komplete.

Hi SymTIK, thanks so much for your great reply and advice, I really appreciate it. I made a purchase about three weeks ago and bought the full KOMPLETE player only as it was half price and I bought the cinesamples CORE package which has core BRASS, STRINGS, WINDS and PERCUSSION. I bought it as it looked simple, no fuss , good quality and no too many overwhelming things. However............I have been trying to get the download to work for three weeks now and they are terrible at getting back to me. I haven't even been able to use it yet and I bought it at the end of November so I'm starting to regret my purchase even though I thought it was the perfect thing for me to orchestrate classical music. Anyway, I really like 8dio and spitfire and I'm a music teacher and am eligeble for a discount so think I might be investing in them in the future........

Hello Daniel and all other peeps! Thanks alot for your great videos. I have a question: What is your routing? Don't you have several outputs from your Kontakt 5? Where do you do the mixing? You see, my problem is that I've got one channel with MIDI that goes to the Kontakt 5, and from there I have a specific output that a specific audio track can take audio from. So for example, when I play something on a trumpet, it first reads the MIDI from the trumpet MIDI track, sends that to the Kontakt 5 track, the Kontakt 5 sends audio via a specific output to the trumpet audio track. This is great because it gives me lots of control and makes it easy to mix. The issue is however when I try to solo the trumpet. If I solo the MIDI track only, no sound is coming out. Same happens if I solo the audio track only as well. I have to solo them both for it to work! This is a big problem, and I can't find a way to solve it! Do you have any ideas? Should I maybe change my routing? How do you route your signals? Do you mix in Kontakt? Best regards // Elias

Hi after watching the CineSymphony Lite Overview, it looked like the best way for my entry into cinematic scoring sounds (strings and brass primarily), but with this new overview of Albion One, I'm thinking of getting Albion One. They are both recently released/updated products, both cover strings/brass/winds and percussion, and in the USA similar pricing. Which would be the better library to get started with between the two? Trying to decide between Albion One as a my stand-alone orchestral library, or investing in the full Symphony Series from NI (I can get the full series for $548) and adding woodwinds... I'm a professional violist trying to break into orchestral composition and it would be nice to have maximum control over the parts since I'm really well versed in orchestration. What do you guys think?

if you want maximum control over parts, the best option is neither of those. I would get EWQL Complete Composer Cloud for 30 dollars a month. it includes access to every single one of their gold series products, giving you access to their Hollywood Strings, Brass, Woodwinds, Percession, Solo Violin, Solo Cello, Solo Harp, and all of their other products. its a phenomenal deal. I own Albion One as well, and although it is phenomenal, it is designed for Film Composition. This means that it is not so much focused around realism and full orchestra control, and is more focused on getting that instant, film ready sound. I use it more for its percussion and steam synth more than I actually use the orchestra content tbh, the strings sound way too synthetic for my taste, the original Albion sounded better. i would also like to mention that the Complete Composer Cloud can be cancelled at any time, so if you find you dont like it or its too much to pay for, you can cancel when you want and at the next payment period, you will not be charged and the products licenses wont be renewed. You also dont need to download every product, you can download what you want, when you want. the installation engine lets you choose what products are currently installed on your computer

***** Thanks. Some dude said OE 1 is like bread and butter and OE2 is like Jam. OE2 certainly has some interesting sounds.

If you own the Native Instruments Kontakt plugin, and it runs on your operating system, Albion One will as well. I am 99% sure Native Instruments Kontakt is compatible with Windows XP. www.native-instruments.com/en/products/komplete/samplers/kontakt-5/
