In my opinion, this was one of, if not THE most powerful, gut-wrenching death notice scene EVER. I've seen it several times and it gets me every time. She is an amazing actress!

Its obvious in the series that she gives herself to the show . That scene was so heart breaking . I love her , amazing actress!

You do realise that this is a prequal to another show called cell block H that was on back in the 80's. Bea is very much alive in that show. Infact Frankie is back in prison and facing off with Bea.

It's just how the hosts introduced Danielle to viewers, who know her more for playing Bea Smith for 4 seasons in Wentworth but where left shocked after lasts months finale twist and a few question on how fans reacted to twist. I actually don't understand the purpose of her appearing on this show, unless it was to promote her charity work, she never even spoke about her other acting projects. Infact she seemed to use the excuse that its still airing in the UK to avoid talking about Wentworth.

They were filming at a cemetery in Melbourne. Vera, Will and Franky were there. She's gone, for sure. I personally hope that Bea is dead. I believe her character was worn out, in a sense. I mean she's been top dog, she has murdered a few people, she's in prison for life without parole... etc.. I could go on. I feel as if other characters can now step up and we can explore their lives and thoughts now. I do love Bea and Danielle is one gifted actress, she's beyond amazing.

That's what occured to me as well. I have the first four seasons on Aussie/US edition dvds and a few of the women were in there for being abused, especially Bea. That's totally messed up.

Multiverse! In the universe in which Wentworth is set, Bea is a victim of domestic violence who attempts to kill her abusive husband, gets busted and goes to prison for it. She's physically weak ass and relies on Maxine for muscle backup, and finally gets knifed to death by Ferguson. In the universe in which Prisoner is set, Bea is no pushover and would likely be a perpetrator of domestic violence than be a victim of it. She serves her first 10 year sentence for killing her husband's mistress around 1969, shoots her husband to death upon her release in 1979, and runs the prison wth her wit and muscle sans Maxine throughout her stint as prison top dog. When Officer Ferguson arrives in 1982, she and Bea have several showdowns with Bea always physically overpowering Ferguson. Ferguson does eventually succeed in removing Bea but it's via a prison transfer not in a body bag. So, the characters and events of the two universes aren't parallel.

@@tsutsuji1 okay, but Wentworth Bea is not a pushover, she is up until the very end a survivor. Even her death was for a better purpose. She's someone your root for, who's been giving a shitty hand. She's fallen and overcome. She went from a shell to a warrior. That's character growth baby. Plus you don't have to be the toughest to lead, you can use your brain like a game of chess.
