after the question who the heart was for, she first wanted to answer with girlfriend. But halfway through the word she thought oh I have to name my parents first. she is suddenly so open about her love life, that's really nice to see. Normally she avoided every question about her love life. There are people who have an opinion about their relationship, but DVD is like I don't care I love her.

Interesting that DVD seems to be much more open about dating Ellie. I don’t remember her being as expressive on social media with Beth. Maybe she’s at a point in her life that she feels more comfortable letting people know that she’s got a girlfriend.

no definitely the interviewer kept asking up to 3 times, she is your girlfriend Wright? and daan said no she's not my girlfriend but my best friend. it made her quite nervous at the time. but since she playing at lyon and after a rough time with her injury she seems much more confident. she is super open about everything and looks happier. it was a shock to me too when she brought up about her girlfriend herself in the interview last week. I Like her better this way!

@@as0lesleyyeahh, i totally agree. Daan looked a lot happier and more open to things than at the time she left Lyon. And after having Elli, Daan is so adorable. Ellie really takes good care of Daan.

I won't compare, but Ellie is not someone who shows her affection on social networks but she loves and takes care of DvD every little bit even though Ellie is injured. It is love and the person for Daan's life

Leeuwinnen means lionesses in Dutch (yes we have 2 lionesses teams at the Euro 😅). Quite a few players are supported by their SO's. In the opening match between England and Austria, there is a cute photo of the 3 wives, who were supporters on the Austrian side: Genessee Puntigam (Sarah Puntigam's wife), Anna Markhus (Viktoria Schnaderbeck's fiancée) and Madeleine (Manuela Zinsbeger's fiancée). So awesome that Ellie Carpenter was also there as a supporter, Unfortunately the Dutch team now also lost Lieke Martens due to injury. The Dutch team will have a difficult time against France, although Marie-Antoinette Katoto is out with ACL. The Dutch team isn't in a very good shape at the moment, but could always be up for a surprise. I guess that England will beat spain, hope that Austria will beat Germany (I will most probably be at a public viewing at the City Hall Square in Vienna) ans Sweden are definitely favourites against Belgium.

The good news is that Martens played terrible (as did Van Veenendaal and Nouwen) so the injuries are actually really helping them. Although Nouwen is back now, so that wil be an issue.

Although I agree that the players you mentioned haven't played well so far, apart of Van Veenendaal no player can be substituted into the roster. This means that another potential player is missing. The whole Dutch team still hasn't shown the potential it has to play well. Romée Leuchter is a big win for the team.

@@lassam333 Well yes, it would've been better if Parsons just substituted the players that aren't playing well. But seems like he's not able to make hard decisions unless he's forced to

UEFA doesn't allow him to make these substitutions. He has to play with the roster he has. It is vitally important that Vivianne Miedema will return for the match on Saturday.

Tobin and Christen at the ESPYs..... I mean..... just end the internet at this point. That coming on the heels (no pun intended) of the England-Spain game. Wow, that was a thriller. Can't wait for you guys' video on it. I really believe Daan has the potential to challenge Kristie as every Aussie fans' favourite WAG at next year's World Cup. I don't know if you know this about Australians but we are very welcoming of our sports stars' spouses and regularly "claim" them as our own. You all saw the reaction to Kristie during last year's friendlies over here. Daan is that kind of naughty character that Aussies just love. Shes the perfect partner to our soccer golden girl IMHO.

@@SaraSarah it was the best day ever! My hotel was next to the Dutch one so I met Lieke Martens and Jackie Groenen and spoke with all of them and even got a thumbs up from Daniëlle and in my actual hotel the Iceland team slept so I spoke and got pictures with all of them as well

Ellie was already a professional soccer player when she was 15. I don't think you can compare her to a normal 22 year old. she had to mature very quickly at a young age. maybe she is more mature than daan herself 😆

It's childish for a relationship to be based on age. Daan is really just a little girl. At Arsenal, she has Quinn, Mc,... protecting her. On the Dutch team, Janssen, Jack, Caitlin,... were always ready to protect her and when they came to Lyon, the whole team always protected Van de Donk wholeheartedly. That's just a baby girl. And Ellie takes care of Daan better than anyone.

I am still in shock that DVD dumped Beth after living with her for five years. Poor Beth, she put in all that time only to have her heart broken the minute DVD met someone new. Hopefully Ellie doesn't take the relationship to deeply because DVD will dump her too when she moves on to her next team.

Most of the times they were first friends before they became girlfriends and Beth doesn’t have that difficult with the break up. Beth is on a good flow in soccer. And how they hug eachother after their game afzinkt eachother, they still seemed to be good friends.

no one knows if daan broke up with beth. from being together 24/7 to moving to another country, must have been difficult for both of them. I think that's why they broke up because Beth seems pretty okay with it. beth really hadn't liked ellie's post recently if ellie was the reason for their break up. it's nice to see that daan and beth are still friends, many people could take an example from this.
