At a 2000+ rating I have a hard time finding decent, educational content on KZfaq that I can actually benefit from. From 800 to expert class there’s alot to learn from and you are so eloquently offering help…So many streamers and channels gloss over things with little to no explaination. I say this not to be arrogant or flex but to stress to others (hopefully even Danya himself) just how valuable he is, and I can honestly say that I look forward to every upload he gifts us. Danya- your stream of thought videos and details therein are amazing. You have a gift, and I’ve learned more from your content than any paid lesson I’ve had. You are so appreciated.

I met Igor Glek in 2022 in a tournament near Bordeaux, France! He is a super nice person! He was really excited to talk to me! I have studied many of his games on the King’s Indian Attack, it’s super interesting!

One of the difficulties for players of all levels below 2200 and maybe below 2500 is how to attack. I really love these themes of attack by Naroditsky. Danya, you are a great chess coach. Arguably the best for players who are not yet grandmasters. Where positional chess and practical considerations go. It would be the greatest thing if you could post two videos (wishes can come true) a day :). I am surprised that you are still under 500K. I wonder why more people aren't discovering your channel. Please consider an "art of attack according to Danya" series. Could be a best seller. Cheers, and much appreciation for all the hard work that makes us better.

This line vs Petrov is awesome. I like Urusov Gambit vs Petrov but will try this. On intermediate level Urusov is great (worked 4 m). I guess this will work too. Speedruns are fun and very helpful. I have watched all the omyland, sensei, and airport. IDK if starting too low rating on those is helpful because I was never that low. But when it comes to 3min chess, it's different. Because higher rated 10min users will mostly be lower rated on 3min. I'm 1300 in 10min and 1100 in 3min. So it would help to start lower in 3 min. Like I presume many 1000 rated users on 10min may be rated 600s in 3min. Because faster time adds more of a micro factor of moving pieces fast. Although the problem with these/previous speedrun is too much different openings. I would prefer a set of openings with lesson prior to applying them in a 10min speedrun. For example, there are 7 main openings in my experience. Say I only play e4 as white. Opponent has 5 main responses - e5, scandi, scilian, carocan, french. So it's a total of 5 main openings white users need to learn and understand when playing e5. And a beginner like me will only learn one response for each. Respectively - danish for e5, trap for scandi, smithnmora for scilian, tal for carocan, tarash airport for french. Black users need to learn two responses. e5 and e4. I go carocan and benoni respectively. So that's 7 total openings a basic user like me needs to learn first. And tries to practice. Therefore, it would be interesting to choose specific openings that cover each of the main 7 possibilities. 5 for white and 2 for black. And play only those in a speedrun. There's also side stuff like how to deal with hippo users and 'tyler cow' users. Basically playing e4 as white playing only 7 openings and same responses for each variation within those openings.

It’s a lot to remember but I thoroughly enjoyed the process. Danya is such an effective teacher!

Hey, I really like this video! What strikes me the most is that this type of King's Indian Attach setup by White can be used in almost any opening scenario, e.g., the Closed Sicilian, Closed French, Closed Car-Kann, etc., where White fianchetto's his light-squared bishop and aims for an eventual f4 with an attack against the Black king. But it's not just a "mechanical" setup that plays itself; you must develop a "feel" for the position and be willing to shift gears if and when the situation demands it, because Black is not just going to rollover and play dead. Typically, Black will try to control and break through on the Q-side, while White is attacking on the K-side. But if Black instead shifts his attention to the K-side, then White's overextended pawns and exposed King can work in Black's favor!

Every chapter is like a show, you chess style is incredible to watch nonetheless you're very fluent in your explanation, good points, and game examples I even enjoy the minor things like your catch phrases (like that's all she wrote, on my radar, etc). You have played many gambits in these speedruns. For example Danish, Smith mora, Vienna, Stafford. Would you ever consider doing a Gambit only Speedrun? (Excluding the Queen's Gambit as most players don't accept it)

The sequence from 59:11 "removing the guard" with the Rook to take the Queen was nice, but I was uncertain just how to win with Queen & Rook versus 2 Rooks and Knight. So I set up an analysis and even if you play the top computer move (Re1) it's still only +1.5. Winning for Danya no doubt, but most of us wouldn't find it so obvious.

As a g3 Vienna player, I’m excited to watch this! The only difference in my repertoire is Ne2 instead of f3. Same plan of Kh2 f4!

An interesting response to this g3 line is the move Nxe4!? which leads to a much improved halloween gambit reversed. Carlsen has played it a couple of times in the past 20 years (including against Danya in a bullet game).

Funny. I just played Glek in a tournament - with black - and was actually completely crushing him, but very low on time, so I offered a draw. He had 70 minutes left and agreed instantly, haha. He's a real nice guy who still plays only a few openings as white - so it was relatively easy to prepare, even though it was between a double round. He even analyzed the game with me afterwards and we had some conversations in the coming rounds. Me only being 2100 this was a real treat - the almost perfect game (only mistake was the draw offer, lol), him being such a fair sportsman afterwards, the whole tournament - beating an IM, drawing two GM in one day. This channel here has become a main source of chess knowledge for me, and it seemed to pay off. Wish I had more time to play tournaments - once every two years is just not enough. The Glek variation here is a real interesting one, I tried the sicilian though, with good success. But I do know he still plays this variation OTB. He used to be top12 in the world!

I watched Mike Tyson's 15 best kos last night on YT. It was kind of like this game. It wouldn't surprise me to run into the captain of the black pieces at the bridge club. You know, you get to be a master at chess and then you get a brutal lesson like this and you wonder what you did with all your time.

To me it's just impressive to see how Danya doesn't give a SINGLE coordinate wrong. Just amazing 🙌

28:35 I have played this system where the bishop is not blocked and it all falls apart. Danya is totally correct here. ....having played around with it for a while, I can see why offering the bishop trade early is one of the popular side lines.
