How to fall asleep fast? Try a long sleep story for grown ups.
This is a deep sleep hypnosis, guided adult bedtime story designed, like all my deep relaxation bedtime stories, to calm an overactive mind. This guided sleep meditation is to help you let go of thoughts and worries while helping you to fall asleep quickly, tackling insomnia.
This healing hypnosis sleep story for adults is a guided sleep meditation deep relaxation bedtime story for adults recorded and created during one of my livestreams where I get given ideas from those watching and live on air, take those ideas and turn them into a guided sleep meditation. This sleep story for grownups is about finding yourself in an antiques shop, you explore what is in the antiques shop. You head to the back part of the shop where the rarest items are. You find an old book and begin to read. As you read, you find yourself drawn into the book, finding yourself on a tropical island aware of seagulls, of the beach and the warmth of the sun on your face. You notice dolphins leaping out to sea. You notice a hummingbird feeding from a flower. You begin to think about slowing down time and notice that the hummingbird slows to a halt. You explore the island, walking deeper into the trees and across to the other side of the island where you set up camp. You watch as the sun sets, gazing at the night sky, you eat some marshmallows before drifting off asleep. While you drift asleep, you drift into a dream. You have a sense of walking in a desert in Egypt heading to an archaeological dig. You are the main archaeologist and unearth what looks like an urn. When you take it from it's chamber, mist appears around the urn and as the mist clears you see a black cat with a gold necklace sat in front of you. You follow the cat to a pyramid and realise that the pyramid is a spaceship. The cat takes off in that spaceship with you on board. It lands in Australia where the cat awakens thousands more cats from stasis. These cats came from Mars and as Mars's environment changed they had to leave the planet and they came here thousands of years ago. All the cats head to the spaceship, you go on the spaceship as well. The cat's drop you off back in Egypt before the cats fly off out of sight in that spaceship. You wake up in your camp on that beach, you eat marshmallows for breakfast, you explore the tropical island further. As you explore, you slowly find yourself back in the antique shop. You get curious about the necklace. You think you have seen it somewhere in the shop. You go and search and find it. You purchase it before leaving the shop, going to a park, sitting in the park eating strawberries under a tree. You share your strawberries with a raven before noticing a storm is coming, so you head home. Once home, you relax in your conservatory listening to the rain on the windows, seeing the occasional flash of sheet lightning and the distant rumble of thunder. While listening to the rain, your mind wanders to childhood thoughts of making bubble mixture, blowing bubbles and playing. As the storm gets nearer you drift out of the reverie and head to bed, drifting comfortably asleep. The next day you continue investigating about the cats. You head to the local church, investigate documents in the church, then checking out books in the local library. Out the back of the library you see foxes playing and you see a black cat. You walk to the cat, engage with the cat, before the cat confidently walks away. You then go to a cafe, get on with your day wondering about your experiences, before heading home at the end of the day, going to bed and drifting off asleep.

I never got passed the description of the book in the antique store and was sleeping soundly. I live that I found you. My husband usually reads to Me to help Me sleep but I always feel bad keeping him up. And sometimes he stops too soon and I’m not deeply asleep so I wake back up. I love him for doing this for me. He also has a soothing voice. He thanks you and so do I!

I've been doing this at greater than this level for a couple of decades in therapy with clients and when teaching where I would listen to the client share about their problem and what they would like to achieve and then I would tell a therapeutic hypnotic story (there is a video of me doing this in the description). I've been teaching this to people training to be therapists for about 15 years in live training courses including my hypnotherapy diploma and in my online courses and writing about how to do this for about the same length of time. It is only since September though that my channel has focused on stories, for the 12.5 years before that it has focused on autism and mental health, including teaching people how to do hypnosis and therapy but in September I gave in to the fact that most people were here for the stories and so focused my channel on them and have pretty much stopped making other autism and mental health or training videos for now. This longer story is from the recent livestream where I get given ideas by viewers and then ad-lib a story live on air as soon as I have a list of things the viewers would like included in the story.

@@DanJonesHypnosisThank you for all of that information. I did know that you made content discussing autism but I didn't realize how long you had been trying to publicize that discussion. I'm sorry. I wrote to you as if you were a new KZfaqr. I wanted to offer encouragement because your hypnotic form of short story writing was new to me. Male KZfaqrs have a harder time gaining traction than female KZfaqrs it seems, therefore I wanted to do a little bit to help you succeed. I did listen to the story of your personal struggle to find work and connect with people. It was sad yet relatable. I'm glad you found what you needed to find, although in a better world you would have found it sooner. I hope others who are going through what you went through find your autism awareness content sooner rather than later.

@@DanJonesHypnosis I stayed with my sister and my autistic nephew for the better part of a year. To help him sleep I would lie close with him and tel him the ‘farm story’ as he called it; a guided tale that was also just slightly interactive for him to decide the story. (I would tell him to see the gate to the farm and if he could see the different animals like ducks, “and what other animals?” He would reply with this and that. By the end he would pick out the animal in the barn to snuggle up with and help it go to sleep. :) Almost always had him asleep in less than 10 mins. Unless he was overly excited about me telling him stories - then he could guide the story for an hour!

Of my 161 sleep stories on my channel, only 17 have cats (and only a few of those have cats feature prominently). This story was recorded during the last livestream. How the livestream stories work is that I ask those who are watching to give me ideas to work with. The idea is that I then use as many of the viewers ideas as possible when I then, 30 minutes into the livestream ad-lib a healing sleep story based on their ideas, so in the last livestream, someone wanted cats to feature, people also asked for Egypt, Australian outback, rainbow, archaeological dig, foxes, blowing bubbles, water, strawberries, raven's, hummingbirds, antiques shop, tropical island and stained-glass window among other things, so I tried to get all of these ideas into the story. I haven't done many stories myself with cats in lately (outside of livestream stories, which are guided by what those engaging in the livestreams ask for). I've got a Christmas story coming up focused around a kitten, I've got a Christmas story coming up where a cat makes a brief appearance just to be stroked for a moment. Other than these, unless cat's come up during one of my December livestreams, I don't have any other cat stories coming up for now. The last stories with cat's were: The Secret Creator's (12th November), Ballet Dancer's Dream (9th November), The Horse and the Magic Mushroom (26th October), The Egyptian Cat's Ocean Adventure (19th October), Dreaming in a Moonlit Meadow (5th October), Exploring A Lucid Dream (5th April) and in that time I've released these 6, plus there will be two Christmas themed stories where cat's appear and there is this current story about Martian cats (so 9 stories with cats since 5th April - the story with cats before 5th April was back on 3rd September 2018), but over that same time period (since 5th April and up to the end of December - as I've already scheduled stories for my channel to 31st December) I've posted 48 sleep stories, so hopefully there is enough variety for everyone to find stories they like, whether it is liking stories with cats or dogs, or mountains, or the ocean, or woodland, or animals etc. You can also visit the playlists, so if you don't like something specific, like cats, you can write down the stories on the cat playlist and then find playlists for things you do like and if any of the cat stories cross over with what is in that playlist you can notice them and ignore them but know that the other stories in that playlist are about what you like in stories. All the best Dan

Sounds like a good class. I used to run relaxation classes, feeling that people didn't take time to relax enough. Now there are mindfulness/meditation classes everywhere, but I used to essentially do similar to on my channel here, I would ask people what they would like to gain from the session and ask for ideas and then create therapeutic metaphors with their ideas focused around the specific things those in the room wanted to gain from the session and people would leave relaxed and many would report changes happening in their lives over time. To help with focus I would add in a sentence 'during this, I will be saying something therapeutic which is specifically meant for you'. This was true, as each person would have given me ideas and things they want to work on, but it would give that extra bit of connection between the person, their problem and me and the story. It is a bit like, if you just walked up to someone and told them the ugly duckling story it would be unlikely to have any impact on the person (unless by chance it was relevant). If on the other hand, someone spoke about feeling like they don't fit in, that they feel like they probably won't amount to anything in their life, they don't believe they can achieve anything etc (or some other potentially matching issue), then during that session you tell the ugly duckling story it connects and helps promote change from within the person because they know they are there for therapy, you are a therapist and so what you do must be 'the therapy' and meaningful, so when they hear the story they consider how it relates to them in context with the problem they are trying to address. So it is important to create that connection between the person, the problem and the storyteller and the storyteller as telling the story in the context of working on solving the problem. This is obviously how things have been done for thousands of years in various cultures and back into our past, where people would have stories to present healing patterns for adulthood, for ways of engaging with the world and each other etc...
