The McCarthy Clans traditional favorite is "Danny Boy", at least in my Cork branch of the family. Generations going back to Ireland, the first born male with red hair was usually named "Daniel". My brother carries this tradition with deep, fiery red hair, but I also get a claim too, my middle name is Danielle. I passed this down to my daughter, whose name is Daniella to honor both sides of the family. This was the first Irish song I learned as a child to sing for my grandmother when she was diagnosed with a terminal illness. The whole family got together to perform this song on all their instruments, me of course being the singer. It is not an easy song to sing without having a strong emotion of Irish pride. The last time I performed this was for my grandfather's funeral, since then, I cannot sing this without a tear, each time I try, I butcher the pitches when the sadness reaches my throat. "Danny Boy" is forever a heart-wrenching classic for the Irish. Enjoy this song in 528HZ.
