I used to listen to this on a cassette player with earphones while I skiied at Winter Park. I still remember how fun it was with the snow flying and me flying down the mountain with Batman! Good memories!

This is the only theme song I can think of that, if you'd never heard it, and it was played to you, you could identify who's theme it was. "it's Batman!" That's how good it is.

+CrusadeFire1 I would say this theme is the official theme. The amount of fan films and video games that either have this theme or a theme clearly based of of this is mindblowing. Barely anything has the Zimmer theme at all

This is the best Batman theme for the best Batman movies! Because it made Batman an iconic character, dark and gothic! The Zimmer's themes are like the Nolan's trilogy: Too realistic, too insipid and too "human" without madness...

MRomney08 It's not because billions of people believe something stupid that it is a universal truth! Nolan is a good director and he make very good movies but his Batman is not iconic: He just a man with a mask... Not a super hero, just a man... In Burton's movies, Batman is more than a man, he's like in the comics, an icon, not just a man! (see "Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns" for example! No just a man with a mask!)

I think they are both amazing in their own right. But the Burton ones are more like the comics.

You can actually find this on the CD "Danny Elfman: Film & Television Music Vol. 1" It's not so "complete". Each track segues into each other and "Up The Cathedral" is actually edited. That saying, his score to Batman is AMAZING. You can hear the HUGE Bernard Herrmann influence, especially for "Up The Cathedral".
