I'm LFC, lifelong. He is a very very good, world class finisher on his day and when in form. He is not a great footballer. He gives the ball away far too much when he is in possession, either a bad pass or smashing it into an opposing defenders legs. He's not a great all round footballer, far from it. He jumps out of and backs out of almost every tackle, never puts it all on the line. Don't get me wrong, been great for the club and football in his goal scoring, but IMHO easily replaceable by any other 20-25 goal a season player. No truly world class player is replaceable. 2 amazing seasons in 7 or 8 is not world class. There is no way has he been at a consistent level that gets into truly world class as a conversation for me. Can't pass or do the basics of football very well at times. Is fully reliant on great players around him, and could never when it's required dig to the depths it takes, as say Stevie G did and could, to drag a poorly performing team or just lower quality team through game after game and stepping up where a trophy is on the line. The season defending the title, where was he and the others doing it? Sorry you huge fans of, I get it, but he's not world class.

Arsenal fan here. Salah has 156 goals and 69 assists in 256 career EPL matches. Thats insane statistics. Pundits and fans do not appear to realize the reason why players like Salah and De Bruyne generate so many goals. Both players are extremely aggressive and actually take risks in the final third. More and more players, including attacking players, are increasingly fixated on keeping possession and playing safe instead of taking risks to generate goals.

I agree with you 100%, the older heads tho were watching players who would take 3-4 players on and then score, but the point I don't agree with is that In today's game, a player (like salah, saka ect) can probably take people on and score, but it's not what the manager wants and they could be dropped for ignoring instructions

Wow I can’t believe what I’m hearing about Mo Salah the player has been the best player over the last 7 years in the premiership. Like Danny said no player in that time would be able to take his position and the goals and assist numbers are mind blowing but I do understand that he has not quite been at it this season but class is permanent form is temporary. I wonder if any Liverpool fan at the start of the season thought it would be a good idea to sell him for £150 million to Saudi or they thought he was irreplaceable, I know by the noise in the summer he was world class and not for sale then yet now despite scoring 24 goals he no longer deserves the appreciation.

This is one of Simon Jordan's stupidest takes in his entire "pundit" career, imagine downgrading a player to just a "very good player" because of the players around him or the system he plays in, absolutely nonsense. I dont hear this sort of nonsense when every player at Spurs funneled there play through Kane to score goals for example, Kane is still a world class player and so is Salah. The man who tried to use salahs poor performance vs Everton where he scored 2 to downplay him is absaloutley embarrassing, I can think of many games where salah gets motm without a goal or assist because of how world class his dribbling, passing; first touch ect was, 2 examples being vs athletico Madrid home 2021 and home 2020. His overall play is literally one of the best the leagues since from he joined in 2017 up untill 2022 he was the complete package, one of the best dribblers, passers, playmakers and goal-scorers all in 1, I can’t believe everyone had forgotten this because of 3-4 months, this is what I call fake fans

Arsenal fan here. Have to agree with Danny...Mo Salah is undoubtedly a world-class player (don't know what Jordan is on about). Salah, for these past years, has no equal in the Prem...unfortunately, he isn't English...cos if he was he'd have been hailed as an all-time great by people like Jordan. Salah walks into any great team, City and Madrid. Salah belongs in the Hall of Fame.

The definition of world class isn’t someone that would get in any side. That’s being the best in the world in your position and it very rare that one player is clearly better than all his competitors. World class just means you’re in the elite group of players in that position which might be top 5-7 depending on the quality at the time.

Diving, at times not pressing and being moody, are all some of the attributes world- class players share. But for all the exceptional things they produce every other times, they're able to get away with things others may not. This clip all be it for bait, may as well reveal Simon's little bias towards certain kind of players and. He thought he found the lowest moment of Sallah's career to take a dig at him. Anybody who knows football and understands the context of the season we're in wouldn't question Mo Sallah's status.

is a player "world class" ? = there is a way to find that question out. talking about diving being 1 way to judge is rather sad and ill thought out = it doesnt bolster your child like opinions or how you arrive at said opinions. Is a player world class = what team in the world would of said "nah you okay we dont want him" ? = Not one team in the whole world would of said no.

Salah is world class and quite frankly if you don't agree then I'd argue you don't have a grasp on how difficult it is to have that output from RW. The fact only Kane kept pace with him says it all. 156 goals and 69 assists in 256 league games, but apparently that is overrated...which player has that output ? Salah gets disrespected so much, for no reason and plays as a right winger and has better goals to apps ratio than most strikers. No one use to say to Ronaldo he needs to get back and defend, No one criticized Shearer for not passing short and defending but in this day and age all people care about is running after a ball or link up play....

As a Livepool fan it is an absolute joy to see Salah score 6-7 seasons consistently in a row, almost the highest goal scoring rate. World class or not, over rated or not, few teams in the history of football can boast of a player like this.

I would take Salah at Madrid. He has been an incredible player. Based on the current crop of forwards playing today, he's definitely world class. Also whoever made that comment about Nicolas Jackson would be able to get Salah's numbers if he played for Liverpool is an idiot. Watch Chelsea, they create a plethora of chances. The reason why they are midtable is because they can't score goals and Jackson is their main culprit. I saw a stat that said the only player to miss more big chances than Jackson was Nunes. Jackson is awful as a ST.

Obviously I'm a Gooner but I do agree with Murphy about him, I genuinely do think that Salah is a World class player. His output and numbers will back up what most of us think about him. I do agree with Simon where he talked about his recent form and attitude, he's not given the team what they expect from him in terms of output, and the disrespect he showed towards Klopp last weekend was absolutely unacceptable. Jurgen Klopp is a phenomenal football manager and he's led their club to a lot of success, Salah should give Klopp the respect he deserves and stop behaving like a petulant child.

Jordans embarrassed himself like never before here ; how on earth , with Salahs numbers , he's not world class is beyond me (and I'm not a Liverpool fan) Salahs scored crazy numbers over the last few seasons with Nunez and Diaz next to him ; he's a f*cking miracle worker never mind world class..... As far as diving goes , Saka and Grealish are 2 of the most prolific at that but guess what , theyre English so they get a free pass (and I'm English).
