I remember downloading the Horse Prince app several years ago at a friend’s birthday party so we could all make fun of it. I’m pretty sure I overplayed the joke because I got decently far into the story before realizing that I had chosen to spend a good chunk of my time playing a game about dating a human faced horse instead of actually socializing like a normal person

I want to confess that when I was 13, I played the horse dating simulator every day for 3 months. I am now 20 and this burden has weighed me down for years. I’ve had my horse prince for like 2 months now and the weirdest part of the game is that it sorta repeats itself when you get to a certain point, like after episode 13 you and Yuuma wake up at some random field and you just have to keep playing the same game. I’m so close to finishing and I’ve wasted so much time on it, also I named my character MyButt Edit: So it’s been almost a year and I forgot about this comment, but folks I’d like to share some distressing news, MY HORSE PRINCE DOES NOT HAVE AN ENDING!!!!! You heard me right, this game keeps on going forever and ever and ever and I WILL NOT let it control my life anymore, I’m sorry that this isn’t the ending you wanted and I’m sorry that I wasted almost 2 years on this godawful game. I'm Japanese and we sure do love our "apps with a cursed concept but strangely boring gameplay" games. (This category itself would be more than enough to be a video) I personally really recommend "Alpaca Evolution". It's about an alpaca that tries to fight/absorb other alpacas to gain power. If you slog through the shockingly boring gameplay, you can see this fella evolve into a horrifying monstrosity (and you have 2-3 endings to choose from where you can either be a god, or end the universe) I will warn the game play is similar to horse prince. They all are and it SUCKS.

Should I be ashamed to admit I 100% completed Horse Prince back when I was in high school? My memories fuzzy but for anyone wondering what else happens in the game I remember there being a rival horse (who also had a human face) and like the 2 of them kinda fought for your affection, and the main horse wanted to prove himself by winning this big horse race. Then when you beat the game you get sent to heaven, I am not joking and I’m pretty sure god himself starts talking to you. That’s all I really remember 😅

You could honestly do a whole series JUST on weird otome games. I think they’re fun especially since even something as insane as My Horse Prince is still more fleshed out than your average bad knockoff mobile game. I remember my friend played the horse game in high school and it got old after you get over the initial premise, but there are a surprising number of games in a similar vein that are actually quite… good? Hatoful Boyfriend is the big one, and I remember that same friend telling me about some game where a bunch of cats transform into sexy anime guys. I played a game where you date fruit once (not anthropomorphized, just regular old fruits). Truly it’s like there’s an otome game for literally anything you could think of

For what I know, Hatoful Boyfriend is a satirical masterpiece. I wonder what game you're referring to with the cat game... I know NekoPara and Pet Boyfriend (which is a really cursed name for a game relatively innocent), but neither of them are excactly like that. I would also love to see Danny playing Kitty Love, not for the plot, but for the horribly bad translation that adds its own entertainment value.

i played uma pri back in grade 9 and i can’t believe it still haunts me to this day. my friend literally beat the whole game, it was so insane. the weirdest part, besides the concept, was when you talked to him and tried to get the answer he liked, it would ALWAYS be the stupidest or least expected one. like he’d ask “do you like me?” and if you said yes, he’d get sad or irate. it’s so wild

I learned of My Horse Prince years ago and it’s one of my all time favorite iPhone games if only for the level of humor and satire it gives, making fun of both apps in the same format and visual novels The funniest part has to be when the horse beats up a bunch of thugs after his rock concert before getting into a race with his rival, who is just another horse but he has red hair

I suddenly have so many more questions than I did before I read this. How did the horse beat up thugs? Were the thugs just raccoons with human faces or something? Did my horse prince just neigh them away? Why am I just picturing a poorly animated video of a horse leg detaching from the rest of the horse beating up some raccoons with handsome faces in ski masks? How would I know the raccoons are handsome if they have ski masks on? Why am I assuming the thugs are raccoons? How does a horse play guitar? Did he grow a human hand just to play it? Does he play it with his teeth? Who gave the horse a guitar in the first place? Why is my horse prince racing his nemesis who is also a horse with a human face and long flowing red hair the most normal part of this comment to me? Why is his nemesis not called his neighmesis? And why is this horse a prince? Is their a whole chain of royalty in horses? It there a horse hierarchy system? Are their peasant horses? Do the horse noblemen wear monocles to show their superiority? These are literally just a small FRACTION of the questions I have from this comment. i hate that my teenage years have been plagued with my horse prince lmao. my friend found out about it on tumblr and we got it on my phone. it wasn't long before i became addicted. i would feed the silly little horse his silly little carrots between classes. this was also during 2016. creepy clowns scaring the shit out of me? my horse prince. celebrity dying? horse man. trump getting elected? GUESS WHO'S GETTING THEIR CARROTS. additionally, that year, i had an awful allergic reaction that put me in the hospital and the first thing that i said to my sister, waking from a benadryl-induced sleep, was: "please pass me my phone, i need to feed yuuma." thanks for the ptsd like 6 years later, denny

I played My Horse Prince many years back. It was good to occupy the time with and I found it very amusing. All these cliche moments expect he is literally a horse. He feeds her food, but he is holding the chopsticks with his horse hoof in a way that defies physics. Amusing game. I appreciate it.
