Imho trickster is better, lv3 trickster makes you even more agile and fast than vergil himself if you get good with it; no more having to depend on stinger

DPS Swordmaster > Trickster no dmg. Royalguard is just icing on the cake, imo. Double jump for life.

@@legendarydarkknightsparda2850 that's where weapon switching comes in. You got more than enough combos between agni&rudra and rebellion alone, add in shotgun+handguns and that's all the ground and air control you need, while missing only mobility. The teleports also open up more combos you just can't do without trickster(or quicksilver, but QS is meh imho unless you got infinite DT)

As a scrub-lord myself I abide by the “orphan clause™️” “Should thou start a new game with a higher difficulty (hard and above), the yellow edition, and no blorbs or plorbs, one is entitled to use items as they see fit except for most boss fights (Arkham and leviathans heart get a pass cause both of those bosses are utter bullshit on higher difficulties)

Why the hell would you gut yourself on a completely valid play style and question those who used that play style if they really win?

​@@xstreampunk7662 Mostly because the game is balanced around not using items. Sure, they're there, but the game encourages you to not use them by lowering your style ranking at the end for it. That's why in later instalments, items are completely taken out, yet the gameplay doesn't change at all. Because the balance is made despite of the items, not in consideration of them.

XStreamPunk nah. If you used items in a DMC games, you lost. Hell the game even deducts points from you score. You can beat the whole game without using a single item. That’s what the developers intended, the developers balanced fights around not having to use items. Items are a handicap.

The "original black label" version is the same difficulty as any other version. There weren't any kind of Genma Onimusha or Ninja Gaiden Sigma versions released that tweaked the difficulty. That being said yeah the bosses are definitely pretty hard throughout, even on normal mode. I remember as a kid first playing, it took awhile to beat. Revisiting as an adult with more experience gaming, it was really satisfying to get through without too much trouble on hard mode my first time back. Still callenging but way more manageable.

@@donovanfaust3227 Nope, the original version's Normal mode was literally Japan's Easy mode, so it was super brutal. You can look it up if you want. But I know they tweaked later re-releases to change that.
