Danube River Flooding Budapest Streets 4K

The Danube River has been consistently been rising for the last week and it has flooded the nearby streets along both the Pest and Buda side. It is at it's highest level since 2013.

The city is built to manage these floods. The lower embankments are closed for a few days, the flood can make no damage there, then they clean it up and the traffic can use it again. That is it. No surprise there.

What did they do with all the ships? They sailed downstream? Wasn't there also a monitor in front of Parliament?

Yeah some up and below the main area. There were a few boats still running but in the city you couldn't dock. I don't remember anything about a monitor.

7am but even at 10-11am the day before it was pretty empty as well.

It is really not a big deal for Hungarians, it happens every couple years or so. You can see how the banks of the Danube built up to handle the floods.

Sorry, but the shocking was that in the last 10 years Danube hasn't floaded, so dry was the weather. Budapest absolutely reasdy for floads three times biggest as this was...
