@@SS-gx7tg Hhm, I watched an interview with Glenn and Eerie where they say it's Glenn that writes all the songs, obviously the band members contribute but without Glenn those songs wouldn't exist. But maybe they were just talking about Danzig 4. And then Rick Rubin also factors into it, as soon as he was gone it wen't downhill. Here's the interview: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/eJeDbLuWld2qdHU.html&ab_channel=MatsEngesten

@@R.Lennartz But that's my point - all the band members contributed to writing those songs but the contracts were setup so that only Glenn got credited as the sole songwriter. Just one of many reasons he eventually lost his entire band, they just got tired of him taking more and more of the money and credit and acting like a tyrant. There's been zero guitar solos that sound like Christ's stuff after Christ left the band. If Glenn was truly the sole songwriter (as he likes to claim), the band wouldn't have taken such a drastically different direction after 4p.

The solos on the songs on Danzig III are even better, same w/ 4. This guy is unreal. I am sorta surprised he went back to teaching after Danzig. You'd think he'd have joined other big name metal bands given how talented he is, but I guess teaching guitar is what makes him happy. Glenn treating these guys like session musicians was so lame. I know Glenn has a huge ego and wanted the lion's share of the money but Danzig has been garbage after Erie, Chuck and John left.

This is just prior to the breakup, and just after that, John got thrown from a truck at 50 mph in a car wreck and broke half the bones in his body and mangled his playing hand. That's why he never had a career after Danzig.

I don't know the specifics of the accident, but he seemingly didn't lose his ability to play or anything.
