@@nateheerema2668 when my opponent plays horizons they strip their deck of every land and ramp better than the green deck. When I play it I have 3 disenchants during my first end step, followed by an armageddon.

Catapult Master has by far some of my favorite flavor text, and I run a copy in every Soldier tribal EDH that I have... "There is no I in Team, but there is a We in Weapon."

My main deck is Darien, been piloting it for almost 10 years now. Some cards that I run that work great (not considering budget): Ancient Tomb, Tarnished Citadel, Ranger Captain of Eos, Angelheart Vial, Dingus Staff, Well of Lost Dreams, Dawn of Hope. And the best card (besides Anointed Procession); Divine Visitation. Al damage to me now generates 4/4 Angels instead of puny Soldiers. For Budget decks: Murder Investigation, Court Street Denizen, Icatian Moneychanger (yes, it works in this deck) and Conclave Phalanx are good picks, depending if you need life or more soldier tokens. Also dont forget Akroan Horse for the giggles and Daru Encampment for fluffy flavour.

So a year ago on 02/16/19 (Sliver Hivelord Deck Tech) Wayfarer's Bauble was $0.16 cents today on 02/19/20 it is $1.92. That is a 1,100% increase in that time frame. Today I'm going to purchase 10 copies of Wayfarer's Bauble and I will wait a year, year and a half when the market is ripe, then I will sell all 10 and buy a 1963 Aston Martin DB5 in Silver just like James Bond has. I just wanted to thank you in advance. Keep up the amazing work.

Darien was my first real commander deck. I loved it. Tokens are such a simple way to play, and it really helped me keep up with the other people. I really appreciate this video.

Darian is one of my favorite Commanders i use, he is the masochist as i call him; love playing it, its just fun, here's some other cards Hit Me Cards: - Tarnished Citadel - Nomad Stadium - Ancient Tomb - Armageddon Clock - Tortured Chamber - Time Bomb - Karma (play Urborg) Anthem Cards: - Akroma's Memorial (great against burn wipes) - Eldrazi's Memorial (great against nukes) - Elesh Norm (just because) - Cathars Crusade (make'em big) Draw/Ramp (other players be like wtf) - Martyr's Cry (do it when you have tokens out) - Settle the Wreckage (just imagine, you swing with 5 tokens, then Settle and ramp 5 lands) other great cards - Linden, the Steadfast Queen (regain life quick) - Elspeth, Sun's Champion - Slate of Ancestry (draw) - Twilight Drover hope that helps

@@drakeconsumerofsoulsandche4303 I feel like commander is the place for overkill. I also play panharmonicon. These both improve all of the etb triggers, so you only need 1 soul sister to net gain life, mill 2-4 with Altar of the Brood, extra +1/+1 from Valor etc.

Also, you can put Urborg in Darien deck, and with Karma enchantment you can build astounding amount of soldiers out of thin air while at the same time burning through opponents.

So I run a Darien deck and a tip for anybody that likes adding an infinite combo there is one that would only require two additional cards. The first is anointed procession, which runs around $20.00. Whenever you would make one or more creature tokens create twice that amount. The second card is blasting station, which is about $10.00. This card allows you to tap and sacrifice a creature, and then deal one damage to any target. Blasting Station will untap when a creature comes into play. With those two cards, Darien, and some of the life gain mentioned throughout the video, you could gain infinite life, and an infinite amount of soldiers. I know this is the $50 budget video, but I think having the option for a infinite combo may entice more people to use the deck.

I've been running Darien for years, and he's still one of my favorites. You definitely have room to go nuts with lands that damage you when they're tapped with this deck too. Tarnished Citadel is fantastic, Ancient Tomb gets even better than it already is, and you can run City of Brass as well as Grand Coliseum to maximize how much your lands hit you, and then throw Deserted Temple into the mix to double up the effect

As a person who has played Darien for quite a while, it’s worthy to note that he is very prone to removal since he’s a low toughness six mana creature where the deck is often built exclusively around him. Also heliods intervention is really good (and cheap) since it can either be a white “By Force” or gain a good life buffer if people swing face if darien or a life-gainer was removed...

Urborg is also good because I run alot of lands like Ancient Tomb. I cant always afford to lose life and so having my pain lands double as swamps is great for shutting off the damage.

A card that is great for this kind of strategy, as a replacement upgrade, is Luminarch Ascension. It baits your opponents into attacking you to make soldiers and if they don't then you eventually get to make 4/4 angels with any extra mana you have at your opponents end step. It also allows you to recover quickly from board wipes by flooding the board with angels after there are no more blockers, winning you the game.

I just bought the upgraded model of this deck with a couple things I added myself like Endless horizon I felt being able to pull all my plains out of my deck and never missing a land drop plus decreasing my deck size by 30 was AWESOME for this deck I'm always drawing what I want and I'm never missing a land drop and dishing out tons of damage

Brave the Sands is also a great alt or addition to Intangible Virtue. gives ALL of your creatures vigilance, and each creature can block one more creature. so you can just use one token to face one creature.

I was talking to my friend about making a Darien deck a while back. We found some fun ways to make yourself lose life, including life swapping with Reverse the Sands and Soul Conduit. (According to rulings on Tree of Perdition, life swapping counts as a loss or gain) With a good swap, you could create a flood of soldiers. We also found Chalice of Life/Death could be useful, Norn's Annex, Righteous Aura, Trading Post, Mana Confluence if you already have one on hand...

I also recommend Captain of the Watch, comes in with 3 soldiers and gives all soldiers vigilance. +Crusader of Odric to get x/x for each creature. and Odric, Master Tactician. If you attack with him and 3 or more creatures you can choose blockers. With a TON of tokens, this can be a game ending card. And with all the life, you could have Rune-Tail Kitsune Ascendant / Essence to make your creatures immune to combat damage. Elspeth, Sun's Champion as a Planeswalker choice is pretty cheap, gives tokens every turn and eventually ALL of your creatures +2/+2 and flying. you also get a board wipe for creatures 4 or greater power.

Darien is one of my favourite decks. I run a lot of the cards you mentioned. Goldnight Commander is Valor in Akros on a creature (I run both). Blasting Station is an upgrade that adds an infinite combo generator with Darien, whether that's infinite life with Daxos or infinite damage with Dingus Staff (as per my comment on your previous vid). Grand Coliseum is another pain land for a couple extra $.

Oh, and I would recommend something like Lightning Greaves or Mirror Shield, because of how important Darien is to the plan. At 6 mana you don't want him dying too often.

Other more expensive cards: Platinum Empyrion (does not prevent damage). Eldrazi Monument. Marshal's Anthem is an anthem with optional resurrection. Smothering Tithe and Ashnod's altar, with Finale of Glory to get value from the extra mana. Harmonious Archon for giggles.

Won a game with him last night against Atraxa, Chulane and New Heliod. Pummeled the Heliod player with 10 12/12 angels courtesy of Goldnight Commander, then milled the Chulane player. Then I had 51 life, and the Atraxa player went to hit me for 50. I pointed out that it would net me 50 life, 100 angels and mill him for 100. He conceded.

I actually have 36 decks but Darien has to be one of my favorites. I have to say... no one will attack you if you have Darien out. The deck you listed looks ok. The biggest thing though has to be that you absolutely positively need more ways to protect Darien. He is a lightning rod for all removal your opponents may have.

Taking out the plains, which you should be able to get for free somewhere, this deck is 39 dollars as of 9/28/2023. Throw in some extra cards to get it up to 50 for free shipping and it's pretty good.

Hey, so I purchased the upgraded decklist verson of Darien, King of Kjeldor and I love it. I am curious though, if I had 25 - 30$ what would you throw in there for more upgrades? Im only asking because even though I shuffle well I seem to have mana troubles. Some things are worth their high mana cost in the deck which I understand that part of it. Admittedly I don't know what the current price is (I think it's only a couple of dollars) , but I've found that Oath of Lieges is a good fit for this commander to filter out lands and keep up with the land drops.

I really like it' but this is gonna sound kinda weird but I think I'm going to make phelddagriph the commander and put Darien in the 99 along with anointed (the white token doubler) so its going to be kind of a hybrid deck to make my hippo more aggressive, I could just put swords in but I think this is a way people won't expect and it would be kinda neat

He likes to make crappy decks so he can sell cheaper cards. Never mentions that proxies are a thing and...players of casual and cEDH dgaf if you use them, unless they're salty and didn't proxy. Why they wouldn't, I have no fn clue. If I owned the expensive cards, I'd proxy to protect their value. If I don't own a card, I'd proxy instead of sticking with a crap pile of cards to play at the table. So basically...sales. Edit: changed "sh** pile of cards" to "crap pile of cards."

No Launch the Fleet? That card was made for a list like this. Also, since this is mono colored, we could benefit from Ravnica at War. I'd also include something that can turn off hexproof and indestructible like Shadowspear or Detection Tower.
