This is the real successor of the F1, period. Other fancy cars with exaggerated spoilers, louvers just look too radical for the street. The T50 is elegant, powerful, practical and a race car at the same time. Love what Gordon Murray has accomplished. Hope to get a nice replica of the T50 in 1/18.

I realize this is an unpopular opinion...but I dunno...I love the engineering but the design is hard to love. The F1 had more style. The rest of the car has grown in me, even the oversized headlights (the front end is very reminiscent of the original Porsche Boxter). But I can't get over how the rear end looks like it was bolted on rather than part of the sculpture. The T33 on the other hand is ths perfect balance of understated elegance.

So far ahead of everything else out there it's almost embarrassing. Forget the Valkyrie and AMG One the GMA T.50 is a practical hypercar that sits in a category of its own - the Hyper GT. Congratulations to all at GMA for the formidable collective technical prowess they have distilled into this project. It all adds up to another serious leap forward in automotive technology. It's bloody gorgeous too.

Agreed, there is only one other automobile that I would rather have more than the T.50. It would be a Porsche by Singer.
@TheStallion234
@TheStallion234 Жыл бұрын
You can’t really compare T.50 to Valkyrie or AMG One. Just because they’re fast and expensive doesn’t mean they’re direct competitors. Valkyrie and AMG are track focused first and foremost, with on road drivability being an afterthought. This is meant to be driven on and off the track. T.50 also isn’t a hypercar in my opinion, it’s not about mind-bending horsepower or numbers like a hypercar, but it’s the ultimate example of the sum being greater than its (although individually great as well) parts. It’s for the driving experience, not a lap time. That being said, the Niki Lauda will be a different story, and I can’t wait.
@davidhunternyc1
@davidhunternyc1 Жыл бұрын
@@TheStallion234 I do believe you can compare the T.50 to the Valkyrie, like you can compare the Volkswagen Beetle to a Mini Cooper or Citroen. All are different cars with different purposes but made in the same era with similar mechanicals. The T.50 is all about the power to weight ratio. It's not flashy. Form follows function. The Valkyrie is its opposite. Hands down, I'd take the T.50 over the Valkyrie. With that said, the pursuit of speed and track times bores the sh*t out of me. I know longer care. Give me a Porsche by Singer.

@TheStallion234
@TheStallion234 Жыл бұрын
@@davidhunternyc1 You can believe whatever you want, but the fact remains that Valkyrie and AMG One were built for very different driving experiences than T.50. Form does NOT follow function in the T.50. Yes, Gordon Murray placed every part on this car under a microscope to ensure it performed exactly the way he intended, but this car is very much a combination of form and function. If it was purely form over function, it wouldn't be the car you see here. To be a true driver's car, which is what the T.50 is meant to be, you need the perfect balance of the two. The Valkyrie on the other hand was created to have function at the heart of everything. Downforce, power, driver position. It's a race car. That's what they are. It just so happens that it looks the way it does, but not because that was the prettiest way to design it.

@@borthwey Totally disagree on looks. The beauty of the F1, T50 and T33 (in my eyes) is in their understated, elegant looks in such a compact car; perfection in my eyes. I followed one around the bowl at Millbrook and it looked and sounded amazing. But it must have blown people's minds in Puglia. I did a cycling trip there in May and the most exotic car i saw in a week was an old Quattroporte being used as a wedding car. It's a fantastically poor area, no Cayennes, big BMWs or anything remotely smart. Not even old Boxsters. The most interesting car I saw was a 2CV clearly being used as a daily. Yes what’s the point of a hypercar if it can’t take luggage.

The T in T.50 must stand for “Tiny”! Amazing packaging! Meanwhile, Dario may be the next Henry Catchpole! Yes, Dario, take the car and drive home!

It's a bit wider but overall smaller than a Honda City. And that's not a large car. My old model is 4.4 m long and only 1695 mm wide, under 1.7 m. It's a breeze on even narrow roads.

And I just got done watching Mr. JWW's McLaren F1 videos. This car is just fricken amazing. And a road trip might actually be in order. Not only would it make Dario giddy, any problems with the car that can only be found from road use might get found. And we peeps on KZfaq would go mad with excitement. In any case, bravo with the car. It's one for the history books for sure.

Beautiful! Wish we could get an update every week, if not every couple of days. Still haven't seen the F1 in person, so it's this also as a digital poster on my laptop and phones.

Besides the sight of the nice bodywork curves and think of the amazing engine it contains, each time i see a new video of the T.50 i can not help thinking how promising it is. Very excited to see this story unfold! 👍👍👍

Had no idea who or what this company or car was until now but, OMG! does that thing sound and look great. Sounds even better with one of my all time favorite IndyCar drivers driving it too. Best wishes and good luck with the car. From a new fan from Minnesota, U.S.A.
