Death Angel, Sadus, Kreator, Nuclear Assault etc. There are just so many good thrash bands from the 80s, the big 4 represent the most extreme at the time, partially from being the first on the scene, such that they carried the torch. Why not explore a new sound? Plug a fukin distortion pedal in that bitch, they have bass EFX pedals, have a unique sound rather then that same ol bland sound that every fukin bass playr use basically I would want my bass to sound like Cliff's on Anesthesia, but at all times, that would be "my sound" and it would be bad ass too, now that's cool!!!
