The second Jason that entered the store is not Jason 2. It's a third Jason. If you look closely, the second Jason that went into the store, has the rubber band around his ring finger like Jason 1. Also, Jason 2 has a different style of dressing :)

I’m at the part of the video where Jules is asking if the box always stays there and I’ve wondered about that too, especially when it turns up in strange places, but then again, this is Chicago. We have a giant steel bean and it’s kind of one of those things that you just have to take a pic at The Bean if you are ever in Chicago. There’s also a bunch of art kind of scattered around Chicago so I can just picture the box being one of those things everyone getting excited to take their picture with “The Box”. lol

I have an early ending theory or prediction. I think Jason 3 helps Jason 1 get his life back. Then Jason 3 ends up with Amanda in the Utopia world

Great breakdown. I definitely caught the ending after a replay. I was confused as to why Jason 2 now had Jason 1's clothing and needed to go to a store to get a gun. But after replaying you can clearly tell it's a third Jason. I believe it's a Jason that was created when Jason 1 was in the futuristic Chicago. When he left Amanda and he hesitated outside of the building...he split into two versions. One kept going and one waited a few seconds wondering if he should go back. Then from there, both versions went to the box with the new alternate Jason 1 (we will call him Jason 1B) arriving to the box sooner. Now from there perhaps they each go to alternate versions of the Max alive universe and do the same thing. Just that Jason 1B is ahead by 30 seconds to a minute. Then they should ideally both go to their "homeworld" and spy on Jason 2. I assume Jason 1B did it first and he's the first Jason we see. Our main Jason is the 2nd one which was left confused. And from here he will try to track down that Jason. It opens the door for alot more ramifications as ideally both Jason 1 and Jason 1B share the same homeworld. Jason 1B isn't like Jason 2 from an entirely different reality. He merely branched off of Jason 1 during his travels. I think one Jason will have to decide to let his family go and go be with Amanda.

Great video!! Love it ! every week you guys do a great job covering this show. I do think that we’ll see Amanda again as there’s no way they’d show him dropping 2 ampules in her purse if we weren’t going to see her need or want to use them again. I don’t think we’ll see Leighton 1 (from bad Jason’s world) as I think he’s done but he did have a backpack full of the stuff they need so they could catch him towards the tail end of his supply but I do definitely feel that they’ll show us Leighton 2(from good Jason’s world) and of course Ryan is the key. Really Amanda having ampules and I do think her and Ryan are on the same world. This will be the set up for season 2 or perhaps the end episode of this season where she may need Ryan to get into the lab and make more ???? All in all there’s many ways they can go. There’s definitely directions with Charlie, Max and now Holly (who the hell is Holly ???) getting involved. Could be a good show to continue at least 3 seasons. Similar to Dark from Netflix just in a more present/future background with Jason 2 being the bad guy with an agenda that gets very dark after he’s exposed for what he is

So could the Amanda that's been missing for two years in the Utopian Chicago also have had something to do with the box but much earlier than the rest? Seems far-fetched but found it weird that Amanda explained that Jason was in insurance, but never explained what that missing Amanda's career was. She only said the missing Amanda has great credit

For all intents and purposes, I think it’s Jason1 and Jason3 in the gun shop. Where people are getting the Jason6 reference is from the audio description for E7. Jason6 could refer to the total number of Jason’s we’ve seen so far: Jason1 => OG Jason Jason2 => Kidnapped Jason1 Jason3 => the Jason who was with Amanda when she got shot Jason4 => Jason who died in the pandemic Jason5 => Jason in jail Jason6 => Jason who is in bed with Daniela when another Jason is standing over them I think the 2nd Jason in the gun shop is the one who was with the Amanda that got shot in the head. Evil Jason is supposed to be smart. But i really dont think bringing a new drunk Ryan to this world is a very smart choice. Like how is that gonna work? Is everyone just gonna be like okay Ryan has gone crazy?

Great Episode. I feel like the two ampules Amanda has, will somehow tie into Ryan trapped in the happy go lucky, free food, Northern Lights world. Apart from that i dont think theyll include a scene in which Jason 1 talks to his actual wife about what he experienced during his travel, but the scene where he sees his son Max was so heavy, and made me think about how emotional a moment it would be if Jason was to say everything he has seen in the different worlds hes been to

I have a good theory, original Jason did not visit his family because he knew Jaye had taken over his life and was with Amanda. The scene where Jason watches his family is the 3rd Jason, whose Amanda died. He didn't suspect Jaye had taken over his life, which is why he went straight to his family, explaining the gap before the gun shop visit.

I distinctly remember Jason & Amanda going to a water world and right as they opened the door, the box started sinking. So, I think the box only appears when they open the door to that world for the first time and it probably stays forever. That would mean traffic now has to drive around that new black box on the freeway since Jason & Leighton tried to visit that one world and said NVM. I think it would be too much of a coincidence that Ryan 1 was dumped in that same world. I also believe that second Jason to walk into the store was a new one. He had the same cut on his nose as Jason1, but a finger brace, that's a different Jason altogether, a spin-off / split of Jason 1.

Basic question. If Jason left Amanda in empathy world and and she and ryan decide to leave, there is no box for her/him to go into or does a box appear when you take the drug?

As for someone getting into the box accidentally, remember there is a coded panel you need to get past to get inside the box. But it is puzzling that no one seems to be bothered by a box suddenly appearing in the middle of an expressway.

How are they paying for things like hotel stays, fancy clothes, expensive dinners…?? It’s not free in the utopia Chicago because Amanda talks about how her new identity (missing Amanda) has good credit.

There are 335 comments right now, so forgive me if this has already been stated....but here's my take on the deal with Ryan 2 -- the scenario was this: Jason 2 right now is under SERIOUS investigation for the suspected kidnapping, and possibly murder of Ryan. So Jason 2 simply gets the VERY FIRST available Ryan variant he can literally gets his hands on. It does NOT matter if that Ryan wants to come with him, or wants to assume Ryan 1's identity. ALL he needs is a living body that has Ryan's exact DNA. Getting WHATEVER Ryan to get drunk quickly - that’s all Jason 2 was after, since time was of the essence (every hour Ryan was gone made Jason 2 a suspect…. And risking his storage locker and box getting exposed). And even with all that crazy talk that was coming from Ryan 2, it would seem VERY UNLIKELY to police than Jason 2 could have brainwashed Ryan into saying all that crazy stuff -- and Jason 2 would have lots of alibis to disprove even that wild theory. It would FORCE the police to get off Jason 2’s trail (and off of the first dead body). There would be no evidence that Jason 2 did any kidnapping or anything bad. But as you guys said… his great plans got derailed, thought in his mind, it seemed pretty darn logical. Also, as a Chicago resident - while they had a lot of Chicago references (like the address of 57th and University is on U of Chicago, though Charlie would probably only get a ticket and not a look inside the car or anything. )… the pizza thing was heavy-handed. NORMAL Chicagoans only eat Deep Dish on special occasion (like Thanksgiving dinner), or normally dine in rather than take out. And Peqoud’s might have the most positive Yelp reviews - but that is also from upper income yuppies …and deep dish takes 45 min to an hour….but if from Peaqoud’s, more like 2 or more hours (due to the popularity)…. Would’ve been nice to give a “normal” spot a shout-out. The Bean is also super-touristy….but in this context, actually makes sense.

I have read the book and won’t spoil anything… BUT I was a little disappointed at some of the changes from the book. Until the very end of the episode and then it hit me that Blake Crouch is a genius. He set himself up really well with this book, perfect for adaptation.

I have a theory on what might happen in the next episode: obviously, this is going to have it out face-to-face probably at the same time Jason2 is going to have to deal with the consequence of bringing the wrong Ryan to his apartment. The Ryan that was brought back to his apartment is going to blow up both with Detective Mason and with Mindy. Also, I see both Jasons having a showdown in front of Daniela. Jason1 will obviously win that because Danielle will ask the Jasons questions Jason2 will have no idea of the answers.

If OG Ryan (Ryan 1, I guess?) is in this Chicago, he may be living unhoused. There may be a Ryan there already and R1 isn’t the type (probably) to kill and replace that one. Amanda could run into him on the street and quickly determine by his demeanor that he doesn’t belong here. He would *not*, I believe recognize her because Jason 1 doesn’t know her in their universe. R1 has already shown that he can quiet his mind enough for J2 to get him to the new Chicago. I think we’ll see R1 and Amanda in the next episode, but I am certain we’ll see them in the finale (which needs to be 3 hours long, haha).

In this episode according to the audio description there’s three Jason’s, in episode 7, who are Jason 1, Jason 2 and Jason 6.

Also, what if Amanda been there b4? It always seems as she knows more than she lets on. And it’s 2 convenient yet weird that heavenly Chicago Amanda disappeared 2 years ago. Like she knows she won’t reappear. #2. Amanda is disappeared in 2 worlds, she died in 1.

Jason3: This is the version of Jason who appears with Amanda2 (who gets killed) in Velocity Labs while Jason1 and Amanda are exploring different worlds. Jason4: This Jason is seen dancing with Daniela while Jason1 watches from outside. Jason5: This version is found sleeping with Daniela in the world where Max is still alive. Jason6: This Jason has a brace on his hand and is trying to buy a gun.

I’m seeing all the comments about Jason 6 and I totally did not see that one coming! I’m even more excited for next weeks episode! I don’t even understand what went thru Jason 2’s mind with bringing that version of Ryan into Jason 1’s world. It’s a totally different life so it’s not even like he could somewhat blend in! So with all of these “missing characters”, it has to mean something right? Like we can’t just root for only one character to have his life back. It just doesn’t seem like enough episodes to fix those other character’s worlds tho. I’m hoping maybe those are set ups for more seasons?! lol.

Jason 3 is the Jason from the reality where Amanda got shot.. think about it.. that Jason also was trying to go home, and that Jason is also Jason 1 that got kidnapped by Jason 2. So like… now we have 3 Jasons… Jason 1 (the Jason that was with Amanda the whole time), Jason 2 (Evil Jason) and now Jason 3 (Jason 1 from the world where Amanda got killed). What’s gonna happen now?? Jason 1 and 3 will fight for that world? How many other possible worlds could have been created while Jason 1 was trying to go back to his? Meaning.. we could have many points where a new reality was created during Jason’s journey to go home.. meaning, we could have an infinite number of Jasons trying to go back to the same world.. causing and infinite paradox that will destroy all realities or something catastrophic like that 🤷🏻‍♂️. Just theories and more theories!

Amandas friend told her she would go crazy if she stayed in the box. So it was logical to think she would stay in a world. I also kept thinking what would she do in prime world since it already had an Amanda.

My Minor Theory: Detective Mason is the Romantic Partner of the Shrink Amanda in Jason1's world, who Jason2 has been discussing his problems with. It's Det. Mason in the picture on the desk in Shrink Amanda's office. That's why Det. Mason showed up at Jason's house--immediately after he bullied Shrink Amanda--and spoke with Jason2: Shrink Amanda had called her Partner saying a new patient may be stalking her. When Det. Mason learned the patient name was Jason, she decided he's a suspicious character, and the threat to Shrink Amanda maybe Jason's attempt to intimidate Det. Mason. It's a little complex--but so is this entire show!

As some have noted, the AD refers to one Jason as “Jason 5” and another as “Jason 6”. I wondered if they mean “this is the Jason from Earth-5” or simply “this is the 5th Jason we’ve seen.” For example, the figures in bed in the last episode were referred to as “Jason 5 and Daniela 7.” Was that the Jason of this world and the number mismatch just means we have seen 7 Daniela’s and 5 Jasons? I do not know. Any opinions on this?

I just found out the 2nd Jason was actually Jason 6 that went into the gun store after Jason 1 left 20 secs time before. The narcissist Jason 2 didn't have the finger brace that Jason 6 had. Apparently, if you have the audio description turned on, it would tell you which Jason # it is and that's how Jason 6 was referred to during the gun store clip.

I believe the boxes pop up when they get there, but stay there. When they got to that flooded world, box was above the water then sank.

So this is my prediction: 1. I believe that Jason 3 is from the world where Leighton killed Amanda… saw same theory in another channel 2. Amanda2 now has two ampoules. If she and Ryan1 have landed up in the same world, somehow they will cross paths and Amanda will bring back Ryan1 to the primary world and eventually be part of the final showdown 3. Jason1 may end up with Amanda (why else would they show the photo scene and beautifully build their relationship) 4. Jason 3 will stay back in the primary world with Daniela 5. Hello everyone, If it’s not J2 buying the gun (as he has one in his storage box) I just would like to understand what Jason was in the scene at min 38, supposedly J2 returning home after bringing the long hair Ryan (R3) to fill in the missing R1. He arrives at his home door and doesn’t enter after hearing conversation in the house. Why? Who was chatting with Daniela? Another Jason? I’m baffled 🤨

Like others said it didn't seem to be Jason 2 in the gun-shop, but a "Jason 1b". Maybe he splitted between the decision of trying (or not) to replace "Jason-Alive-Max"''s life or something that really made him think twice right before (Amanda?). But anyway, seems like a not very far branch from the original Jason 1.

I think Jason 6 is similar to Jason Prime. The only difference in Jason 6's world is that Max lived, and Charlie died.

I think Ryan was stranded in the utopian reality Amanda's in so she has two ampukes that he can replicate so they can potentially show up in the end to save Jason 1 OR be shown at the very end to leave a second season open

I re-watched the ending of episode seven and there are two Jason1 100% positive. Both have the same motivation to get back the family they lost. How is Daniella going to deal with two Jason‘s knocking at the door? This is crazy. I can see bad Jason2 getting arrested for what he did to Ryan but how is Daniella going to cope with two returning Jason‘s probably both identical with the same motivation?

If all these Jasons (6) are in one world then why didnt the store clerk acknowledge this? Another youtuber said something to this extent on his channel, but i dont think this is true to the show. Maybe in the book it happened this way, but i dont this is the case with the show. Also i think Jason 1 is going to go looking for Ryan in this world and find his imposter. He's going to have to explain to him what his evil twin did and then have Ryan call his wife over so they both can break it down and alert her to how dangerous evil Jason is. Amanda will be back because i believe the first Ryan is definitely in her world, they will collide and realize the truth of who each other truly are and realize evil Jadon must be stopped. . Plus she still has those two ampoules, so her story hasnt ended. I also think 1st Leighton will eventually end up in that world where he wll meet his other self. Remember Leightons whole vision of the box was to find a better world and bring that science, medicine, tech etc, back to his world to make it better. Just my two cents.

Had to jump in for a second comment as yeah the Jason who came in second for a gun is NOT Jason 2, this is Jason 3 go we really don’t know anything about but but this is Not Jason 2 or 1(obviously). The thing I think is about to happen is that Jason 2(for the 2nd or maybe 3rd or 4th time) is about to bolt and leave the original Jason(who he replaced) with all the problems and crimes he’s committed.

How did Dan not know that Max and Charlie were twins? The dick Jason was looking at their birth certificates with their baby footprints and their social security cards. That was a big reveal in an earlier episode. I was like, "Awwwww...Charlie was a twin?" That was so sad. Also in a later episode, good Jason was talking about when he and Daniela were in the hospital getting an ultrasound and there were two heartbeats. Daniela was recalling that memory with Charlie too when they were at Max's little memorial tree. On another note, I'm also baffled at how they're able to afford everything. This show is so damn good.
