to me this isnt evil. i dont consider dark things to be evil. they are very different. i like this music its like a peaceful sad lullaby in a way.

Amazing how the wolf howl actually feels like it’s part of the song and not just a creepy background noise.

I like simple use of notes like this, there's something sad and lonely about them. And I don't know, sad seems happy for deep people.

The sealed kingdom had been like this since as far as anyone could remember. No one could trespass its forsaken boundaries, nor in or out. Same dark clouds gathered above the ruined castle, same dead silence over its darkened forests and marshes, broken only by the sorrowed howling of wolves and wind. And not a soul lived there. For he, he had killed them all. One by one they all been murdered by the hand of their king. In his madness, his desperate rage caused by his daughter's dreadful end he decided that no one else will live, no one else would deserve to live. Meanwhile his queen, not being able anymore to endure the pain of their great loss, embraced the sea from the height of the castle's north tower. All there was now, all that remained... the king, a fading shadow torn apart by sorrow and pain, more than hell itself could ever bear. But it was not the king who sealed the kingdom. He was a great warrior but not a sorcerer or a wizard or anything of that kind. Few are those to know the truth. In fact there has left only one of them. It was the wicked witch Suranamdre, well known for her habit to charm young girls and drown them in the black thick mud of Greenfog Marshes. And by mistake she sealed herself inside, along with the kingdom. Or maybe it was no mistake. Maybe the rumors were true. Rumors that she loved the king. A jealous, sick, cruel kind of love... Poor Anabelle... she had only 16 and eyes as blue as clear summer sky.

☽ *_I'm waking up from a nightmare... I’m in the middle of the woods..._* ☾ ~ *It's night*... _The darkness is encroaching the forest, preventing me from finding my way back home. The only light that I can see is the full white moon... That I can't even see very clearly because it's hiding behind these dark tall trees and their dancing leaves._ ~ *It's noisy*... _But I don't know what's noisier... The waterfall that is running down furiously... The wind that is making every leaf tremble... The wolves that are howling at the moon that not even they can see... Or my weeping sorrow that is slowly consuming me._ ~ And at the same time... *it’s quiet*... _The sound of my beating heart and scared breathing is making me go deaf. It is so loud... But as loud as all this might be, my constant shouting is only making the silence even deeper. How did I even get here? Last time I remember I was happy... I must remember to listen to this as I write my story. It will definitely inspire me at the dark moments. 'As she drew her breath a shrill cry came from the east. She froze. "What was that?" She asked herself in a hushed tone. Her skin began to crawl as she heard someone... or something rushing towards her' Excerpt from my story; World of Two Moons. To me, this song sounds more emotional than dark. The story I get from it goes like this: A kingdom sealed away for centuries by those who did not understand its magic and so feared those who dwelled there. The wolves howl in mourning for the loss of the light this kingdom once knew; the radiance with which it would shine and the glory it stood for long ago. All of that buried beneath the sands of time, because of fools who could not bother to learn what wisdom this kingdom's people had to tell nor to share what they had with them. It fell to ruin because of ignorance and paranoia. The kingdom buckles beneath the weight of the world, crumbling to dust like the stars that fell around it, and weeps for what it lost. The Heavens weep for this kingdom as well; an eternal rainfall that drowned all plantlife and turned this once lush land barren. No more is joyous laughter heard in the villages. No longer do the birds sing in the trees. What has become of this kingdom's fate is nothing but ashes in the wake of the lightning storm. All that can be heard to even signify it was once there is the mournful howl of the wolves, entwined with the voice of the wind that carries the last sounds of life back to where they came from; the other side of the veil.

Dark, goth anthem like this reminds me that being sad is ok. Being depressed is ok. Feeling give up is okay. It makes companionship, with sense of peace and comfort to the misery. We embrace negativities in dealing with them, then only we could flow to heal. Forcing and faking positivity all the way make us more in denial, foolish, trying too hard and wound harder yet still not stepping ahead real by skipping the dark phase. Not everybody has similar speed and method of coping, some need more time and absorption to it. We need darkness to see the light. As how we should not fall deeper to the darkness, we shouldn't force it to leave either, but to flow with it, play with it and rise from it.

So dark.. Mystic, evil and dangerous. The silence that surrounds, invades and watches.. This is truly a masterpiece. Luring evil, dark beings shadowing you.. The calling music of enchanted darkness that awaits you to accept it...

Wow... I love this piece so much...Adrian is really a remarkable musician who connects "soul" with his music. A great silence settled over the land after the battle came to an end. The screams of the Celestial’s two lost comrades echoed in her head, as she watched The Protector’s world, his finest creation, close itself off to protect its people. The distressed calls from inside, as they pleaded for their creator, were lost as the door shut. Kiromah knew, that even as horrid and powerful as the witch was, her brothers could not be killed. She could not however, figure out what the witch had done to them to make them disappear as they did. She had lost her sight for a minute after being struck down, and had not seen her brother’s fate, so she had no idea where or how to look for them. To her surprise the witch was nowhere in sight, which was strange. Maybe they were able to defeat her, she thought, but dismissed the hope, as she looked with despair at the once grass covered mountainside she stood next to. It had been stripped of all living things, and left with a black stain where the battle between her two beloved brothers, and that horrid witch, Morgana, had taken place. The only life to be heard or seen elsewhere, was a mother and her two twin sons, on the other side of the mountain. They had taken to the forest in the valley, hoping for shelter from the battle, but had been met by more danger, judging by their calls for help. Kiramoh changed into her human form and went to aid them. Upon nearing their place of refuge, she saw one of her brothers, Anikeyri’s, creations, slinking away on the forest floor. A green, medium sized dragon with no wings, and enough poison in its sharp claws to kill ten men. She wondered what it was doing awake during the day, it being a nocturnal serpent, then looked to where the mother and sons were hiding, immediately understanding their cries of distress she’d heard. She went to them and quickly led them away from the dragon’s den in the ground, taking one of the children from the mother’s shaking arms as they ran. The child whimpered and held his face as blood seeped through his small fingers. The came to a clearing in the valley, and stopped. Kiromah sat down with the child in her arms, tearing up as she realized what had happened. The mother held the boy’s twin in fear and bewilderment, stuttering as she tried to form words with what little breath she had. “Deep breaths,” Kiromah told her, “now what happened?” The woman held her son and closed her eyes, calming herself down. "We were on the other side of the mountain, and there was thunder and screaming in the sky, but no storm. Then a great light like lightning shot down at us, so we ran to the forest." She pointed to the boy in Kiromah's arms. "My son, Deur, ran ahead of us, and hid in a small hole in the ground, which was apparentl-" "The den of a Slihteri." Kiromah finished her sentence for her. She gently took the boys trembling hands from his face. Three long claw marks covered his right side, and she could even see the dragon's poison, turning the boys leaking blood green. His skin was a sickly white, and felt cold to the touch. Kiromah felt sick. She knew that only her brother Anikeyri, who had made the Slihteri dragons, could save the child, but he was lost, along with their brother Emeiraytay. She shed a tear, running her fingers through the boys brown curls. "Is he going to be alright?" His mother asked anxiously. Kiromah couldn’t find the words to answer, she just sat there cradling the child, tears running down her cheeks. The boy’s twin struggled out of his mother’s arms and ran to his dying brother, muttering gibberish. “Takar no.” His mother called, only to be ignored. He put his hand on his brother Deur’s shoulder and looked up at Kiromah. “Lightning,” he said the best he could. “Someone in trouble.” Kiromah looked confused. Their mother picked Takar up and apologized. “He’s been going on about someone else in trouble when Deur got hurt, but there was no one there when I found them.” Takar kept insisting he saw something, but did not make much sense. Kiromah dismissed it and looked back at his brother in her arms. He looked as if he were trying to open his eyes, which were stuck shut with dried blood and tears, so she decided to help him. She ripped a strip of fabric from her dress, and dipped it into a small stream close by, cleaning his face gently. He cried out when she touched his wound, so she stopped. It had stopped bleeding so there wasn’t much point in cleaning it she thought, he didn’t have long as it was. To her surprise however, he started to feel warm, the color returning to his cheeks and hands. She watched as his eyes fluttered open, immediately showing her something was not right. “Ma’am,” Kiromah asked Deur’s mother. “What color were your son's eyes before?” "Grey, why do you ask?" The boy looked up at Kiromah, his eyes glowing white. She felt a strange gnawing feeling as she met his blank stare. Aside from the wounds on his face, there was nothing wrong with him. "Something's not right," Kiromah said under her breath. She turned to Takar and quickly read the boy's thoughts, immediately finding an answer. Deur's brother had run to catch up to him in the forest, and had seen the dragon strike him down, but had also seen something far worse. Deur lay on the ground, pale and cold, his grey eyes staring blankly at the trees above him as blood leaked from his wounds. The dragon quickly crept away, as a tall figure, shrouded in a black mist appeared at the seen. They pulled back their dark hood to reveal the pale face of the witch. With her black hair array, she took out a long, black rope, tied to a small glowing stone. She muttered something under her breath, and the stone quickly disappeared, two glowing white figures appearing in its place. Kiromah gasped, as she watched Morgana kneel down to examine Deur's lifeless body. Her brothers saw Takar as he hid behind a rock and watched them cry for help, trying to break out of the witch's spell. Morgana turned to them and struck with another spell. There was a bright flash of light as they disappeared again, their screams fading away to nothing. Morgana smiled and vanished as well, leaving silence behind her. Quickly Takar ran to his brother and shook him as tears welled up in his fear stricken eyes. Deur sprung awake and screamed, his eyes wild and glowing different colors. The twins clung to each other until their mother arrived, then the image faded. Kiromah tried to read Deur's mind as he slowly came back to normal in her arms, but no image came to her head. Instead, she heard familiar screaming, then silence once more. The boy reached out to touch her tear stained face, his eyes fading to a deep blue color. He whimpered slightly and hugged her, burying his face into her chest. His mother sighed with relief and hugged the older twin, assuring him all would be well. Kiromah stared blankly at the ground, taking in all she'd seen, and regretting it.

This song is a total representation of my D&D character in song form. It's equally as terrifying as it is sad--reflecting his backstory and nature, but with an overall brighter tune compared to other songs of this nature; reflecting of his will to change and right the wrongs he had done. But in the end, he will always go down in history as a villain for his actions--or will just be forgotten as just another lost soul

Dark is the night, the path is veiled in a thick mist casting everything in mystery. Trees even darker then the night throw their skeletal limbs into the moonless sky like the dead frozen into agony for all eternity on this endless, lonely path. I walk the path, lost and confused, looking for something to show me the way, something to let me know I am not the only living creature wandering these lands. SOon in the distance a castle appears, looming on a hight cliff at the end of the path. As if it was waiting for me, waiting for... A howl breaks the silence, haunting, so close, so close to me. I turn around. It is too late. It is already there. I start running towards the castle, hoping, wishing... I die. A lone wolfe howls in the night as my life drains away. The sealed kingdome is again cast in eerie, eternal silence.

So soothing in these hard times in my life.

My DM once used this for a session where our party was trapped in an abandoned haunted mining village with fog that turned you back into the village if you tried to leave, bathed in perpetual darkness. It was one of the best parts of our adventure as far as ambience went. And so, years later in real time when a capital city of an empire we were supposed to siege was somehow overrun by Zombies and made impossible to leave if wandered into its foggy interior, I'm pretty sure our DM started playing this music again, and we were suddenly nervous that the old mining village had come back to haunt us (and sure enough, the reason for it was connected).

This reminds me of Angmar in Tolkien's legendarium.

Imagine having a disease which burns the skin when it is exposed to the light. So for eternity it stays in the dark, gloomy, cold, and faraway land. No one wants to come to that place because they fear whatever lies inside the castle. But the one in the castle fears that from the moment it was born to the second it dies, its existence is only in imagination of the wildest dreams. People fear what they do not know, and assume they know too much. Sadness. Just sadness...

there's something about this music and artwork. it brings visions to my mind that the sealed kingdom is exactly that: sealed. and if you were to find your way in, you would find things that, while dark, were not exactly evil. spectors and spirits, werewolves and vampires. and once you came out again, you would be unsure how you felt, and wonder whether it was all a dream. like a dark version of narnia.

As this begins to play I envision a warrior of the night walking slowly up to this castle.He stops,only to yearn at it from the same point of view as us. He stands there,his once silver armour is now covered in the dirt of the land,telling us of his long journey and the obstacles he has overcome just to reach this moment in time to avenge the wrong that the king has done to him so many moons ago. Initially a knight of the castle,serving it with all his heart,having proceeded to do everything in his power to protect it and it's people,this has now become the driving force behind his quest for vengeance. Long ago,while the sun shined and the people were happy,a new king had been crowned.This King was a man of great influence and loved by all.Over the years,he had formed an unbreakable bond with one of his faithful Knights'.This being fairly uncommon for a king and a knight,allowed their friendship to be envied. One night,when the dark clouds came to engulf the castle in darkness,an evil force came with it.This evil force took control of the king and persuaded him to wrongly rule over the people of the land and allow the darkness to take hold.The king,having tried to fight it off, was too weak and the darkness took control.It now not only controlled the king,but proceeded to cover the rest of the land in darkness. The once faithful knight was now shocked by the kings new evil behaviour.He tried his best to go against the king,but this attempt at treason did not go unnoticed by the newly formed dark Knights. The DarkKing ordered for his new dark Knights to kill his once best friend.They took him far out into the woods,where they brutally beat him for hours and left him for dead. On the cold,wet dirt amongst the thick of the woods he lied.Now feeling his spirit begin to break,he turns over to face the sky.He lays there,waiting for death to take him. All he sees are dark clouds,not a single star in the sky,until a peek of the moon becomes visible.There it was,light in this darkness. The Silver knight now having realised this hope,abruptly dragged himself along the ground to the point of exhaustion.He passed out. He awakens in the room of a land's persons cottage.His wounds already wrapped and a fireplace spewing warmth.Eventually many months go by and he has lived in this village,worked in this village,and trained in this village. In all this time,the DarkKing has summoned monsters of the night to roam the woods. Silver Knight now begins his journey back to the castle to save the land and his friend,but most importantly the king,from this darkness. Along the way,now armed with his new skills and drive to defeat the darkness, he fights the various monsters that now populate the woods.It is only after all the battles in the woods are won that he finally reaches the castle. He sees it as we see it. Tired after the battles with the monsters of the woods,he knows that he will have to fight his way up to the DarkKing's room,each level of the castle posing a new distinct monster boss to defeat. A sudden flashback of the events that took place the night that he was to be killed over power him,and he is left with the determination that he needs to end this darkness once and for all.

This is the perfect music for the introduction to Barovia in the Curse of Strahd. Even the title of this piece is apt.

This Castle is barren, dark, and cold. Not a soul now resides here. Only the bones remain, sealed forever in this utopia of death, for no one dared enter this kingdom. The creatures of night resided here, their cravings for mortal kind were inevitably dooming them. Once the people had enough of death and fear they fought the beasts inside this kingdom until they were safe from darkness and death. When they had won this castle dimmed its dark lights and sealed its walls for no mortal was worthy of entry. Some have tried to crack its unholy seal, but non have returned. This kingdom is a reminder that Death will always be there, and those who go against its rules, it will consume, with Fear of it to follow.

I like this it makes me think of a creepy Mario or Zelda level or when there's something ominous in the Sims Medieval.

You could feel the shadows surrounding you, as your walk near the shores of the lake you can feel a dark presence but I'm not afraid is like its talking through the mist trying to tell me what happened here. I remembered this land with life and color and now is like the whole land is just sleeping waiting for this darkness to move or just stay into the end of time...

I love this. If only I had a cold dark stone castle, a raven a slew of books to read by candlelight and a tall mysterious but handsome man whom I'm not sure is of the living or not as the grounds keeper roaming the castle and every now and then when our paths cross his grey eyes pierce my soul on a stormy thundering night and as the wind blows the candles out, I feel his cold hands around my neck and I.....dont scream.

That picture gets to me for some reason. Combined with the music, it creates something exceptional....very well done indeed.

Legend of the Sealed Kingdom The sealed Kingdom in a horrifying place where the Werewolves howl chills the blood and sends ripples of fear down your spine a place that never sees the light but always the dead of night a place were the screams of the damned echo through the spectral wind, a wind that never feels warm but always an unnatural cold like death itself is imbued within it, and as the darkest part of the eternal night approaches, the moon rises over the Fortress of the condemned, and gleams its dreary light upon the kingdom making the land glow a ghastly silver, just light enough to see were you are going... But faint enough to not see what's hidden in the darkness... the Birthplace of evil Land of eternal darkness, this is the sealed Kingdom forever drenched in shadow, hidden within the trenches of eternity, lost in the currents of dream beneath the tides of time, lying broken in the cold, lifeless abyss in the place of wolves, that roam betwixt mortality and mortality's dream in a place of hidden demons that dance upon the winds of mystery atop a lone mountain, assaulted through eternity by the howl of treachery so lies the Sealed Kingdom, forever drenched in shadow, and so lies the darkness that once dwelt upon the land. The darkness that once breathed. That once walked. That once thought. That now lies in slumber, awaiting the day, when the eternal companion of darkness shall awaken anew a companion by the name of Fate... The sealed kingdom, in slumber the blood night keeps the morning dew away The lost tale, of this damned place will be sealed away, until its legend fades, then all... will be true... Beneath melancholy black clouds and above mystic black waters lies the Cursed Castle of Ages Old; the castle long abandoned by the living and captured by haunted souls of those not yet fully dead lies in a plane of forgotten time evermore. The sun has forgotten what that place looks like, and the darkness has erased the glory that once shone out radiantly from the splendid nation. Now it is little more than the sporting grounds of ghouls and monsters worse than can the dark woods hold. The dark stone road greets no travelers and the mountainous landscape conceals the skeleton of a castle from any would be adventurous soul who may by chance find the relic of a nation and wish to exploit it. Such places should never be found by such people, for certain agony is the only outcome. Shadows fade into darkness and mist vanishes into black rock. Such things should never be seen by men... By a border of fear, was a kingdom of cold, sealed far away, yet so very near... Enter who may leave, And leave all ye who enter, for in the shadows lies the spider's weave... Across a barren land Of death and sorrow Fight or defend... The darkness yearns It lies in wait To kill all that returns, You fall to your knees in despair, For your love lies behind the walls, Never to be seen again, Inside the Sealed Kingdom... When the night is in peril, Monsters come out. The wolves howl, And blood drips. Always seeing the dead of darkness, Never to see the moon. The Darkness rules here forever more, the lorde who owned it died. The castle still mourns it's owners death, and lets none but him in. Perhaps the Darkness isn't evil. Perhaps it needs a friend. Join the Darkness, one by one, line up in your graves. Let the Darkness come to you, let it be your slave. Let no-one tell you that you cannot be. Let them tell you not. Instead just bring them to the shadows. The Darkness will take their life.
