I totally forgot about the Y2K scare. But now that you mention it, the fear was real. All the adults (I was maybe 12) was pretty terrified. Grocery stores were emptied out and everything. I was just laughing at the stupid adults the whole time... Good times. 👍

Hey guys just wanted to make a correction. I've worked in film and tv for over ten years and just wanted to let you know script rewrites are not as common as you think when a rewrite happens it throws the production schedule completely out of wack because it's not just actors that need to learn new lines it's could also call for new locations new costumes, background actors etc. When a rewrite happens days on a production almost immediately go to shit. Kinberg was most likely the production coordinators worst nightmare

I don’t get it. Bruce spent years fighting and then got trained by LITERAL ninjas. Blake is just a police officer and the League of Shadows are essentially wiped out. He’s going to get killed out there!

I was thinking about the X-Men movies and I think if the end of the franchise was First Class, Days of Future Past, Logan, or even Apocalypse the series would have more satisfying closure than ending on Dark Phoenix. All of those feel like a more intentional ending that looks back on the series as a whole than this which basically ignores everything in the series to just focus on Jean.

Having not seen it, roughly how does it end? Is there still a feeling of finality or is there an empty cliffhanger, like a the-game-is-on type thing?

@@FilmScoreandMore It tries to have a feeling of finality but it's self contained to the movie's events and doesn't wrap up the series or do any big overall thing beyond it ends with Charles and Erik playing chess. There's no mention of old mutants who were alive but not in the movie like Toad, Jubilee, or Psylocke (not even a Wolverine cameo) and they don't have any moments between Quicksilver and Magneto or Nightcrawler and Mystique with some happy parenting moment (I'm pretty sure Quicksilver and Magneto are never even within a mile of each other). Half of the characters don't even have an epilogue moment beyond "hey look Storm is in the background of this scene teaching a class". I guess it's cause most of the characters with goals and character growth and ambition have been killed off. It's not like Nightcrawler or Storm were ever given an arc. But it's not like there's any indication that there would be something explicit to build off here. There's not even an end credits scene.

I knew this would happen. All the x-films since FC have ended in a teaser about a new status quo that will lead into an actual X-Men story next film and then the next film just ignores it all. FC ended with Magneto forming the Brotherhood, then DoFP started with Brotherhood having been mostly killed between movies. Then DoFP teased Wolverine, Cyclops, Jean, Beast and others in the future which ended up being the last time we saw the actual X-Men in these films. Then Apocalypse had the costumes and now those costumes have been abandoned by the time DP happens.

@@TommyNorth I've been giving up on the xmen storyline loong time ago, it will be mediocre at best, it has this 2000 movies formula (that I just found the name by watching this video) that doesn't work anymore. But at least the costume... Man... The only redeeming factor ob apocalypse, yet they scrap that up. I think fox and WB has competition, about who can screw up their superhero franchise better...

They were just the costumes from Grant Morrison's run on the X-Men in the early 00s which were inspired by the ones from the movies at that time but with a splash of yellow.

Swamp thing’s first and second episodes were both well driven with great acting, overall so far it seems like a solid show to follow doom patrol which started and ended marvelously. I’m hopeful that swamp thing continues towards a satisfying conclusion because the new DC shows are awesome for the comic fan, and honestly deserve more love

I also did what Mason did with XMO: Wolverine, except I watched the leak all the way to the halfway point, which when I saw it in theaters I found was almost the exact moment it fell apart and got bad.

They didn’t get rid of Swamp thing cuz of creative differences at all. It’s cuz of the tax infringement. -Titans was bad and the renewed that before it was realised -Doom Patrol was fantastic they still haven’t announced season 2 yet -Swamp thing has been good but they shortened it and have cancelled it before episode 2 GET A FUCKING GRIP WB 😂...

Doom patrol got cancelled reported not long ago which is sad because it's the best thing dc has made in a long time both that and shazam are the best dc produced things since the dark knight and it's sad to see it go. I haven't fished doom patrol so can somebody answer this question without spoiling anything does the show end on a cliff hanger or does it all time up lose ends because if it's a cliff hanger that would piss me of

Don Birkinshaw EDIT: after I wrote this comment o researched the cancellation and although it hasn’t been renewed yet it hasn’t been cancelled at all. Idk where u heard it but Doom Patrol hasn’t been cancelled I just read several articles one of which is literally form today which states it’s not cancelled and there’s no official source to say it’s cancelled either. no it’s not a proper cliff hanger it raps up all the established characters but there is something left over. Just watch it I ain’t spoiling it it can work as one season but a season 2 would be better and tbh no matter what I think we’ll get one down the road as when it’s realised internationally I’m sure it’ll be widely popular.

@@NightmareproductionsOFFICIAL I 100% agree which is why I put " too slow" in quate because I don't agree at all because this isn't an action series it's a drama series about a bunch of broken cricus freaks finding a family and learning to except who they are and the people that thinks it's too slow more then likely just has short attention spans that just want to see shit explode and things fight more often and I think that's quite stupid but hey what can you do everyone's entitled to feel the way they do its just that those guys was wrong and I agree about the weirdness to its quite creative and unpredictable going in to the series I never expected to see a sentient street that protects gay an trans people but their you go

My guess was that there was just some particular executive that didn't realize the tax rebate would be less than the initial report maybe said it was and while everyone else had approved the new figure this person just wouldn't stand for that and gave it the ax.

Dark Phoenix is no where near the worst X-Men movie, unfortunately it came out in the era where we can only think in extremes, and with the baggage of this unofficially being the last Fox-Men universe, Disney buying Fox and the MCU running like a well oiled machine, this movie was perfect fodder to tear apart. It’s a like a wounded fish, bleeding out in a pool of sharks. At worst Dark Pheonix is a “meh”, but people enjoy tearing movies apart too much for anything to be “Meh”. This movie didn’t stand a chance, unless it came out and was the greatest film in history in the cinema, people and critics would have torn it apart.

Honestly it’s meh at best. The movie has a lot of issues that makes sense why people see it as bad (maybe horrendous is overboard but definitely not good).Not to mention most things that are critical to these types of movies ie: Plot/story, Villians, continuity, believable character motivations, and natural dialogue all range from meh/lackluster to just downright bad. I agree that we live in a great or horrible society, but this movie is definitely understandable for the hate it receives because nothing about it really great/good and the bad aren’t hard to find or see in the slightest

I want Swamp Thing’s full series to be realised and for the next season to come out. Atm the first 2 episodes have been very good and I’m dreading it to go down hill. Doom patrol was fucking fantastic and although Titans wasn’t good Swamp Thing and Doom Patrol seem to have learned. So glad we finally hAve some good Dc shows and they r getting taken away from us.

So basically at the end of Dark Phoenix Charles Xavier is the mutant equivalent of Harvey Weinstein? Does it really make sense to rename the school after Jean Grey? She did kill Raven after all (even if under influence of the Phoenix force). If they needed to rename the school maybe use Raven's name.

Simon Kinaberg did a great job to me.. It seemed way more grounded.... I suggest listening to his blu ray commentary.. They brought in the creator of the Phoenix Saga to help make it too. I love the quicksilver bit..when he told the x kids back at the mansion he did all the work.. And jean helped a little bit towards the end 😂 CAP

So this doesn't link to the original X-Men films... how many different timelines are there? X-Men 1 - 3. X-Men First Class - this. Original Days of Future Past 2023. End of Days of Future Past 2023/Logan (maybe?). Days of Future Past with Rogue (does that count?). X-Men Origins: Wolverine (fully retconed by Apocalypse and Deadpool 2). Deadpool 1 and 2. ATTENTION: The X in X-Men comes from the X-factor in their genes that causes their mutations. The "men" is the ending to men or woMEN. Individually, they are each an X-Man, the "man" being from the ending of "human". The term X-Men/Man is also a play on "ex-human" as they were human before their X-factor was expressed. This is clever and NOT mysoginistic at all. You'd have to be ignorant about comics and how language works in order to think this is anti-woman... or perhaps you have a motive for coming to this conclusion, whether it be financial (it's your job) or social gain. Either way. They should absolutely keep this, it's recognizable branding and the X-Men comics have always embraced female characters. The term "mankind" refers to all of humanity...are we supposed to change that too? Despite it's complete inclusion? Get real. Quit your bullshit. Choose logic over emotion in this case.
