Just imagine how Jonas must have felt in all of the versions where Claudia didn't arrived. He just suffered the most by far and had the most worst fate. He spent his entire life to fix all of this, is responsible for the tradegy and death of his father, death of his best friend who was killed by his own son, killed his mother and the love of his life three times and is one of the reasons why everybody suffered. After 33 years of living in the apocalypse he slowly turned into the very thing he sworn to destroy. The last 33 years he was so determined that everything will end for good. His suffering and the suffering of everybody else. Than after he killed Martha and the origin he just stands there alone, no one else around him just to realize in frustration and pain that everything he did fixed nothing at all and was always the reason why everything happened.

Jonas is such a tragic character. It's hard to imagine how he felt during his entire life. I feel so sorry for him. But I actually don't believe that there is an infinite amount of versions of him. For me it makes more sense that everything happens only once. Because all the events in the cycle lead to Claudia breaking it. This would be the case in every cycle. But she can break it only once. If everything is happening as always, then how can she even make a difference and find/use the solution in the first place, without ever having done it before? My theory is that after Tannhaus creates both worlds they run through the cycle once before destroying themselves. I know that this is still not a perfect explanation but it's fun to think about.

@@jakobkerman1247 Agreed! The infinite amounts of version of Jonas still doesn't make sense. Everything should have happened exactly before. How could've Claudia noticed that detail about Regina? It effected the hole outcome. In the whole series there was not one sign of the possibilty that something like that could have happened. Sure, we were given the information many times. But with the belief that the changes the most people tried were part of the knot. There was always someone who knowed or effected the changes of the cycle and used them. Claudia was the only person that noticed this little detail about Regina and she wasn't proven wrong. She just found it by no one but herself, you could say by accident. But how was it possible to let this accident happen in a repeating cycle?

@@addy2429 Exactly! If everything is repeating, Claudia must find a way to break the cycle as a result of all the unchangeble events. This means the fact that she finds the loophole is determined through the cycle itself. It's her fate that can't be changed. So there has never been another way for her than finding the loophole and destroying the cycle. I don't know why, but this "plothole" feels intentional. I love how this show always leaves room for interpretations.

@@jakobkerman1247 I would say that this plothole just want us to say that the story of Dark is just a "dream" or just a story. Not everything has to make sense even though Dark seems to be perfect. I'm just glad what a huge experience Dark was for me. It has a very special place in my heart. Also because I'm from germany and I'm very happy that Dark got so much international attention. The most of the german series are crap. Dark gave a huge different view on the german tv production. Sadly, I just know a few people who've seen Dark and it isn't that popular here. But I'm really looking forward for "1899"

Both worlds are referred to as cancers. In both alternate worlds, Regina gets cancer. But in the origin world, she doesn't. Holy moly.

@@eagleman5138 Maybe it has something to do with the night she was tied to the tree. Remember the sound from the cave? It may have been the night where the "accident" in the nuclear power plant happened. In the Origin world she was never tied to a tree because Ulrich doesn't exist. Also there is no nuclear power plant anyway so she was never exposed to the accident/radiation.

For those who thinks Eva was more smarter then Adam and she was winning, in my thought Eva was more foolish then any one else. Adam was just misinformed and misguided by Claudia. When Claudia told Adam everything he stopped the cycle like it was just peanuts for him. Evas greatest strength is that Claudia from Evas world was with her. Claudia is the best. 😍😍😍😍

Tannhaus and Claudia are the two most important people in the series. Yeah everyone plays their own part. Nothing impacted the story more than Tannhaus in Origin world, and Tannhaus even in the other world's was just as impactful. Claudia's realization is the most important thing in the entire series imo, besides Tannhaus literally creating 2 separate universes

@@ty814 Claudia literally had infinite amounts of loops to find out about the origin world. You have to keep that in mind. It's not like the one specific Claudia at the end of the series was solely responsible for finding out. It was a collective effort of all her former selves. When I mentioned HG Tannhaus bring the smartest, I'm mainly just talking about raw intellectual ability. He's literally the most intelligent person in the show. I'm talking about Origin world Tannhaus. He figured out time travel by himself. The other Tannhaus was I'm assuming just as intelligent due to him being a replica of the original.

To be fair, they were also smart. Alt-Martha seemed to be very motivated about learning, and Jonas was very depressed in the beginning of the first season, so we don't know what he studied and what he liked, but there were lots of books in his room, so I think he was also curious about learning. J&M also managed to stabilise the God particle in their worlds while not even havi ng finished high school. Claudia at least had a proper education. There are different types of intelligence, and genius is relative. But it's true that Claudia was gifted in the physics and maths area. She was, indeed, the only one who truly understood time-travel.

Adam was right all the time, that his and Evas world was just wrong, and if there is dark and light side, then Adam side is the Light one. Because Eva wanted to leave everything same, like in darkness. In same sorrow all the time, but he didn't. He did bad things, he knew that his world wasn't right/real, and yet he was right. And with Claudia (neutral Claudia) , they manage to make it to right one. epic show ever created

Thats the thing though isn't it? Old Tannhaus created the machine that split everything into two worlds to save his son. And in the end it worked, Jonas and Alt-Martha saved them and then simply disappeared. His son came back to the younger Tannhaus and lived. And the freakiest part is, younger tannhaus will never know about what he did cause he officially changed the timeline. And this all happened without anyone knowing.

@@Rickil96trollencio Of course he loves her. I just think that, by this point, it's not loss he's feeling. He knows loss. He knows regret. Better, arguably, than any other man to have ever lived. And he knows them so well that cannot *hurt* him anymore. His tears here I would say are not from pain. They're relief. Someone has finally, *finally* told him "your journey has reached its end", and there are no more beautiful words that could be spoken to him.

I still don’t understand that this is the first time that Claudia tells Adam how to break the knot. After this scene, Adam asks Claudia how many times this conversation happened. Claudia said that him breaking the knot (that obviously resulted in nothing) happened endless amounts of times and that this conversation never happened before. Can somebody explain this to me?

Maybe Adam finally lost faith in his own work, then went to kill Eva. Maybe Martha killed Adam when she found Eva’s corpse. And maybe Claudia is only here now because during the endless times before she had not learned yet

The series follows the "present" of the story. So, from the very first chapter in S1 we are witnessing the start of the ending. That's it. That is why everything ended right there.

I guess that the story of the series works in this was, that the whole story is stucked in a loop. But through every loop the older versions influence their younger versions, so there is a very minor change. Claudia takes advantage of that, collecting more and more information through the loops, giving them to her younger selfs, who also gain more information to pass on their younger selfs. Until Claudia finally figures out, what is actually going on.

Proof of this is a scene where its not sure if its a continuity error, or a very little hint: The scene where old and young Claudia meet for the first time in Claudias office. This is shown in episode 2x2 and 3x7. But their is a difference how this both scenes start.

Claudia used the fraction of a second during which time stands still to be able to reach him there. Cause and effect isn't in play during that fraction of a second, so she was able to send herself a different way, as Eva apparently does. In all other iterations, after his plan fails, Adam travels to Eva's world and kills her, which is part of what drives Martha into becoming Eva. It's only in this one that he first speaks with Claudia and then goes to send Jonas after Alt-Martha. Hope that helps.

The eva that lives was the Martha that is with eva. ( I know this sounds confusing) but there were 2 Martha's living in parallel realities, the one that brings Jonas to other world (killed by Adam in this scene) and other that bartosz stops from going in to bring Jonas.

Claudia replaced her alt self and was able to spy on Eva, and From there, I think she learned about the quantum thing, where the Loop stop (aka when the Apocalypse happens) and creates two different points (One where Jonas accidentally leads Martha 2 into becoming Eva and one where Jonas becomes Adam).

!!!! SPOİLER !!!! Claudia solved everything with Regina's death. Regina was never be a part of the knot. So she must not die. But in two worlds both Adam's and Eva's she is dead. At the end of the season 3 those who must not be dead (because they are not a part of the knot ) are all gonna die in Adam's and Eva's world.

@@maxim196 Katharina, Hannah, Regina, Peter, Torben and Bernadette are died in these two worlds. Their parents are out of the knot so they must be alive. But Adam's and Eva's worlds are a mistake. They shouldn't exist. Everything is go wrong in these worlds.

@@maxim196 the most probable reason of Regina's cancer is the nuclear power plant. If there's no knot, there's no Martha's son, so no one extorted the Winden's 1954 Mayor to approve the nuclear power plant.

(I know this is late, but hear me out )All their origins are connected to Egon and Hannah. They were part of the knot which has no observable origin cuz of the bootstrap paradox. The continuous loop causes them to have no explainable origin as their older selves are the reason their younger selves are born in the first place. Technically, they are born becuz of their older selves' influence.

I felt the 3rd season switched the rug under me, there was no time to develop the second time line and much of the character development was so incredibly rushed by the last season limitation, plus I liked it before way more because Adam was the antagonist since part of the fun was the mystery of how Jonas came to be this person. Like I get it, but I don't plan on re-watching.

That's fine, however a lot of the things that happen in the second world happen in the first, some are different sure, like Ulrich dying instead of being imprisoned. Jonas also doesn't exist in that world and Mikkel never gets lost, that's a LOT of time shaved. I did like the mystery of how Jonas became Adam but this season slowly showed us how Jonas/The Stranger became him in the end. Just lines of dialogue show his demeaner switch...

@@andres.alegre LOL! @Gabriel Orville I liked season 3, and the more I think about it, the more it grows on me. But I see where you are coming from. To me, seasons 1 and 2 are the pinnacle of Dark, with season 2 being a solid 10/10. I'd actually even say s1 is a 10/10 with s3 being a respectable 8.75/10.

Yes, this is her before she gets shot by Adam, you literally see her prepare to get killed for the last time after this, whoch she has to, because the loop needs to happen or Adam would not be here in the room to hear about the original world and the loophole he needs to sent Jonas to break the loop at the moment of the apocalypse..

Yamato Kosanyaku thanks this makes sense but the only problem is that with jonas we see a very detailed joureny meaning we see all the events that lead to his death and in turning adam in second scenario while with claudia we never get to see a clear or chronological path of her journey. Like okay she grows up has regina survives does all the time travel etc but I really couldnt fully explain her traveling as I did to jonas. I checked the dark netflix io and it still wasnt very clear

@@pradyumn2453 Theoretically they still exist because everything repets itself by an infinite number of times. But they have to destroy the worlds in order to stop the circle and time to be linear. They are a "glitch in the matrix", as Jonas said. But their love still exists somewhere in universe. They also existed in the origin world, by meeting Marek and his wife. I know that it sounds strange what I am saying to you, but this is what happened. The ending is in the same time sad and happy. Sad = they disappear; Happy = Tannhaus saves his family, Claudia saves Regina and Jonas and Martha had a beautiful love story.

@@pradyumn2453 It's not possible in the origin world because if time travel was not invented, they also weren't born in this world. Both Jonas and Martha are born by persons who time travelled. But as I said, they still exist because everything repeats itself. Jonas becomes Adam and Martha becomes Eva (older version of themselves). So they have lived. Everything has an end, but also a beginning. I know that you expected better, but this is life and love.
