Reflecting back on this trailer, I think we had no idea of what we were watching. We couldn't even imagine what this would turn out to be. Just some studio called FromSoftware making a dark fantasy game. Miyazaki's name wasn't even in the trailer. And here we are, celebrating the newly released trailer for Elden Ring, after an entire trilogy of Dark Souls games, after two amazing new IPs sharing the same DNA, after a Remake of Demon's Souls, after 10 years of Souls games. Yes, we had no idea.

That scene with the chosen undead and iron tarkus is so badass, it simply shows that tarkus himself was supposed to have a major role in the game

Damn near 2020, still putting hours into this masterpiece. Miyazaki truly redefined the gaming genre and gave the world an incredible adventure. And an even more incredible story. I only wish you guys had more time to put into the latter half of this outstanding game.

this is the only game that I truly regard as a piece of art. there is nothing like it, and instead of just straight up throwing its more than brilliant lore at your face, they leave you to put the puzzle together yourself. for me, dark souls is without a doubt the best game ever created as of now.

After playing and finishing Dark Souls II, watching this again makes me want to go back to the first one. I think the first Dark Souls will always be the best.

Watching this a week before Elden Ring and man, it's so cool. Back when Demon's Souls was the only frame of reference for this game, back when Hidetaka Miyazaki wasn't a video game superstar, back when From Software was just a teeny little studio making games that mostly flew under the radar. Being a fan of Demon's Souls and seeing this must have been the most incredible thing ever.

The darkness of its scenarios, in Dark Souls, I think is the greatest achievement between all the others Souls' games. It feels so lonely and creepy, but at the same time so relaxing at moments where you finally find that bondfire and it allows you to rest for a little bit before going back to the dark path of Lordran

Sinceramente, yo como joven jugador jamás he podido jugar algo igual a esto, ni creo poder hacerlo, este juego marcó mi vida y formó un antes y después en mi mentalidad, en mí propia forma de ver las cosas, siempre fuí fan del género RPG y de otros juegos donde pudiera controlar a pj a tercera persona, pero cuando conocí este juego, todo cambió, esto no solo fué diferente a todo lo que había jugado, fué y se sigue manteniendo como una obra única que solo ella te puede dar una inmersión totalmente excepcional. Más que un juego... Esta obra se ve que se hizo con amor a excepción de su segunda mitad donde se notó que no tuvieron otra opción que la de apresurarse, pero a pesar de eso no dejó de ser el juego tan perfecto para mí, ideal en todos los sentidos, aquel juego que me transmitía una sensación apenas lo iniciaba y me quedaba con el misterioso silencio de la pantalla de inicio hasta que iniciaba al personaje, luego el oír solo los lentos pasos y pisadas metálicas de mi pesado caballero entre el silencio y solo los ruidos del aire recorrer por cada corredor, sabía que algo me esperaba, sabía que comenzaría un viaje en inmersión totalmente diferente a todo lo que había vivido... Dónde ví que... Dark souls 1 es y será más que un juego... Es un mensaje.

I like how there's no talk or vision of gwyn. There's really not much vision of gwyn in game either, just talk of him. So when you finally get to his fight, it's like a total surprise. That's really cool

The first of the dark souls trilogy and for me, this is a masterpiece for so many reasons. I’ll never forget the anticipation, the fear around every corner as I went through this beautiful game for the first time. I wish I could play it for the first time all over again.. nothing beats this for me..

damn, i wish i wasn't a scary child when this came out. I always thought that playing a game known for being hard was a bas idea and yet here i am 8 years later enjoying to the last bit of my souls spend in upgrading bonfires my first playthrough of this timeless masterpiece

i got this game through gamefly when it came out, and sent it back when I realized I couldn't actually pause the game and it pissed me off. but my friend had bought it and said it was worth not being able to pause, and oh boy has it been. ever since 2011 this has been in my top 2 most played games. crazy its almost a whole decade old.
