*sigh* Correction: the game's dev Radical did not make Infamous, they made Prototype... that game that was a lot like Infamous and came out around the same time.

Game manuals were often used a form of anti-piracy. Sometimes, they’d have some key piece information required for progressing, for example: Metal Gear Solid literally asking you to look at the back of the disc case to get a codec number needed to progress the story, Maniac Mansion giving you a password to a door or, while technically not the manual itself, Star Tropics asking you read the letter that came with the physical game. Them not giving you the entire move list in-game, can also be seen as a way to make life harder for pirates. Oh, and yeah, it also screwed rentals and used game sales. That was also, probably, done on purpose considering EA would go above and beyond the next generation to combat the used games market.

Hulk 2003 was at one point going to have a sequel with both The Leader and Abomination as the villains taking on Hulk which would’ve been interesting but some of the plot details themselves do sound odd and it’s understandable why they rebooted the idea with The Incredible Hulk and became part of something bigger

I will defend Ang Lee's HULK film to an extent since it's currently the only movie featuring the Hulk that actually tried to explore his traumatic childhood that led to the Hulk identity being created. Plus Danny Elfman's score is legitimately great and criminally overlooked. Not to mention that Radical Entertainment would make up for it with The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction and the [PROTOTYPE] games.

I still enjoy Ang Lee's Hulk movie even though it's not the best. If nothing else, Danny Elfman's soundtrack is pretty good and his main theme for this movie is my personal definitive theme music for the Hulk.

Whenever people bring up the psychological elements of Ang Lee's Hulk, I think it's a case of people mistaking a cool concept for good execution. To be fair to the movie, it's really nice to see a Hulk film that delves into the psyche of Banner. It's something that for as much as I love the MCU is kind of a shame to see absent from the Hulk due to rights fuckery preventing them from making more solo films... but there's not much to defend in terms of the execution which is incredibly dull. The game itself? Funnily enough this was one of the first games I remember playing on the PS2 as a very young boy. I had I believe it was a PS2 demo disc which had the first level on it and played that repeatedly. Then later I'd get the game and be able to get through the Hulk sections early on... but I would need someone to help me with the Bruce Banner bits. It wouldn't be until I unapologetically used cheat codes that I played through the whole game. It's... not good but it has its charms. I actually quite like the cel-shaded look they went for in the cutscenes and the actual visuals are decent (Though Hulk's proportions are questionable.), I always like these movie games that set themselves either after or before the movie since it allows for more freedom with the story and for a little kid, it's fun to just smash things and throw soldiers off the edge of buildings. Honestly if they just focused on the Hulk stuff it would actually be really solid... but it doesn't and wow, FUCK the Banner sections. I remember getting so frustrated with these as a kid but as an adult? They suck because they're either way too easy or they're hard by way of poor design and honestly, while I get the Hulk is all about the duality of man and beast? Who is asking to play as Bruce Banner in a game about the Hulk?

Fitting how you literally smashed a game about the hulk. Also, I got a recommendation: Golden axe beast rider for the 360. I almost liked it; the combat for the most part is satisfying- you dismember and behead enemies when you kill them. However it has an awful dodge/parry system that breaks the game for me. I could only get past level 1. There is a weapon I can grind for, but the grind is absolutely ridiculous and the game doesn't even tell me how good the freaking thing is.

I like Ultimate Destruction, but I don't love it the way so many other people do. It definitely succeeds in making you feel like the hulk and giving you a big open world to play in, but I found a lot of the missions frustrating, my fingers hurt from holding down shoulder buttons so much to run and there's not enough for you to do other than the story missions. I wish it had been more like Spider-man 2 where random crimes take place for you to solve.

Yeah, this game was kinda weird for me. On one hand I liked it as a kid, but seeing it now it's kinda bad. I'd still probably play it again for nostalgia. I'm kinda sad you didn't use the grey hulk cheat code, It honestly made the game funny. If you do review ultimate destruction try out the Joe-fix-it costume it's hilarious.

I heard you talk about The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, and you said you never played it. Boy are you missing out! The Incredible Hulk Ultimate Destruction is insanely better then this junk. Developed by Radical Entertainment, which also made the cult classic Simpsons: Hit and Run, this was the greatest superhero game since Spider-Man 2 on the consoles. The game includes an upgrade system, dangerous enemies including many types of mechs, a system in which adds more insane enemies the more destruction you cause, an incredible story, and two open worlds. And when I said two open worlds, I mean the freedom to move absolutely anywhere. Yeah, it basically stomps over every other Hulk game, and most other open world games today. If you don't believe me check out the trailer of the game.

That's one thing that people that whine about not reading the instructions never seem to get about used game purchases, particularly for games 10+ years old. At the best, it's a dice roll whether or not you get the manual. Worst case scenario: forget about the manual, you might not even get the case. God forbid you're reviewing an obscure old game, where there's a good chance that you won't be able to find a digital copy of the manual on top of the chance of not getting the physical one. Game development has long since passed the point where you can just put the control layout in the game itself, so there's no more excuses for not having the controls listed in the game somewhere.

Ang Lee mostly did slow emotional beautifully filmed dramas and thats what he did with the Hulk. Westerners thought he was an action director because of Crouching tiger hidden Dragon, but that was actually the first Action movie he ever did. That said, I like the movie. The ending was a complete mess in too much darkness to see whats going on,, but I still watch it from time to time, and the last hour is really really great action. Plus the special effects are really really good.

It gets old when the whole video is whining about it. I remember having fun playing this game and the graphics and cutscenes were pretty good. I remember I even liked the movie. I’m seeing a lot of youtube “reviews” where its just hating on a game for 15 minutes or comparing a 20 year old game with today’s standards.

Jadow can feel free to dislike Hulk 2003 but over time as the MCU that used to stand strong started to decline makes me appreciate the movie even more during a second viewing. And I couldn't think of an appropriate moment to call it quits when She-Hulk premiered and it would have made my stomach turn and enraged as a former MCU fan
