The best thing about this fight (besides the epic music) is that if you've played the first game, you'll recognize War's moveset,

The first time I fought this fight, I was just blown away by the sheer epicity. The music is absolutely amazing in this game!

I've read multiple "best video game soundtracks" articles and unfortunately not one of them has this incredible soundtrack on it. Are they crazy?

Keep in mind, that Death is kanonically the strongest Rider and his mission in Darksiders 2 was not sanctioned by The Council, so he did has had an access most of his abilities, including his signature weapon.

I'm seeing all these comments about how Kratos from GoW would own these riders, but what y'all need to remember; Kratos is still only a man, yes a demigod but he's also human. These riders have taken down worse things than demigods, so no, Kratos would not win if he fought these people. Death would crush him

i wish THQ added a bonus stage int he Game where you could fight war over and over as many times as you wanted, and war would always be as strong as you were so the battle would always be a challeneg and not one sided, also am I th eonly one who hopes Darksiders would be a TV series? on toonami or adult swim or something...

damn bro it’s been 8 years and I am 8 years later playing Darksiders genosis in my switch. While I was going through journel I found about the four horseman and then there was death. The first line was- “Death is the mightiest of all four horsemen. He is feared throughout all of creation” I got amazed cause I thought War was the biggest and baddest of them all. But after reading the history I realised he is the youngest!! And only other game I played of the series is Darksiders 2! So I also liked the idea that I played with the strongest one and now I am on a new journey with war and strife. Darksiders are amazing games

My favorite part was definitely that completely unnecessary and absolutely brutal finisher. The first time I played this, I was not expecting something like that.

I like to think that each horseman has a unique stat they specialize in. 1st game has War with a f*ck ton of HP and massive area of effect attacks. 2nd game has Death with insane evasive abilities and huge damage output within a short time. 3rd game has Fury who is considered the weakest of the horsemen who unfortunately doesn’t have much going for her except being balanced in elemental weapons, but low stats overall. And lastly we are waiting on Strife whom we got a glimpse of in his shared game with war so I can’t comment much there.

I loved this fight, mostly because I love War xD I thought the music was godly, and fit perfectly.

I really wish we could attach both scythes into the bigger version as an alternate method of combat . I think it would bring more variety to the combat and the way death moves

I wish war fought like this in his game. The slower but more powerful combo with chaoseater and the swords bursting from the ground every hit. That would've made the first game like 10x better in my opinion.

When, not if, they make Darksiders 3, I hope you play as either Strife or Fury and in Darksiders 4 you play as the other one, that way you have four games for the Four Horsemen

i just bought this game, and i gotta say, it's amazing.. o_o the way you can mix your armor, your weapons, and the enemies... AND THE MUSIC AND THE GRAPHICS *o*

Kinda makes u wonder who'd win in a fight out of War and Kratos, everytime the player dodged backwards to evade a straight line attack i couldn't help but think "Idiot xD"

Sadly unlike the first game where they gave you the soundtrack with the game this one didn't otherwise I would upload it, other people have found the soundtrack and uploaded it you can find some of them on the right side of this video although I don't know if their the one your looking for, I'll be sure to put a link in the description for the soundtrack if I find it.

i've seen this fight many times and i still can't belive that the developers of the game forced us to kill war (i played the first game so i love war is what of the baddest characters in games)

Pestilence isn't a biblicle Horseman. He was a replacement for Conquest. I think Strife was based on Conquest since Conquest rode a white horse, A crown (Look at the top of strifes mask) and his weapon was a bow and arrow (equivalent to common day guns). Famine rode a black horse and had a scale. Which I guess could be how Fury got her whip. They wanted to have their own characters and if they follwed the already known legend of the horseman you'd have people bitching that it wasn't done right.

Darksiders 1 was great.. bosses were kinda easy. DS2 was greeeeeeat!!!!!! Complex bosses. DS3... Fantastic.. great environment and great bosses . DS genesis. Background music is glorious + all fighters are so damn difficult

I have a huge problem with the first game. I really liked the story but not the gameplay at all. It just was constantly pressing square for the same combo (didn't appear to me that the secondary weapons were better) and repetitive gameplay: go to the arenas to free me... etc. Also level design was really bad. It was basically a discount God of War. So when I got to Tiamat I stopped playing and watched the story on YT, all cutscenes and fastforwarded the gameplay parts to know a bit of the environments. The story was really nice and the end one of the best of any game. So now I'm on Darksiders 2 and for now it really is a step up from the first.
