the way it works is, you kill Abraxis and get his souls. Give this soul the the lord of hollows and in return he gives a "Mysterious Stone Sigil". this shows up in your inventory as a 4th relic along with the others. When you finish the game with that relic in your inventory, you get the alternate ending.

people may be confused with the post credit scene with Lilith 11:49 i think this scene only shows if you play on apocalyptic difficulty.

blackjaguar324 if you choose to kill him I think that gets grouped in with and is the same as sparing the lord of hollows. Sparing abraxis is killing the lord of hallows.

Killed Abraxis and thought I was done afterwards without visiting the Lord of Hollows again - got the "Kill Lord of Hollows"-Ending...

@@HannesHenkelmann I chose to kill the Lord of Hollows but I did not know I had to go there myself since every other time he just abducted me. Then I beat the game without ever fighting either. Got the killed Hollow ending still tho.

No, the timeline goes 3/2 (hard to say exactly which happens first, probably 3?) and then 1. When they do Darksiders 4, presumably which will be Strifes entry, it also will take place before 1 since the end of 1 is when Darksiders 5 is supposed to start. It should be noted that Darksiders 1 intro takes place before 2 and 3 but then there's a 100 year time skip between the intro and War going on his mission to clear his name.

I know i'm a year late but the Story starts with 1, since war was "called" to earth and fought against the demons and angels. This destroys mankind and war is punished for that. There is the timeskip. In this timeskip before war can fight against these who led him on his path, Death and Fury do what they did in 2 and 3. Fury ends her quest before war, so she has no idea what he is after. That's why u can see Ulthane in 3 and 1. And the dragon in the scene at the end is Abaddon, before he was killed by War. Meanwhile Death looks for a way to restore mankind and War is going on his path of revenge. They finished it mostly at the same time, so mankind is restored, most likely will be send to Fury. As Death is about to trade himself for Mankind in, War breaks the seventh seal and calls upon the Horsemen, which is why he was resurrected in the first and Death in the second game. This roughly sums up the Timelines in those three games. I haven't played Genesis yet, so i cannot tell how this game fit into this. But i guess we have to wait for the last Darksiders with Strife, to see where this ends. Imo this has to be tha last one to end the series.

if you kill the lord of hollows you won't receive his sigil which is powerful enough to fight back the charred council. If you didn;t well then fury just escapes but isn't powerful enough to take on the council. But with the sigil she can be free of the council and can come back in the future to take them on. Basically they just gave fury the power of the horsemen and the council now

More importantly, the post credits confirm that Fury does receive the Sigil and War is sent to earth to break the final seal (as shown in Darksiders 1) Thus the secret ending is the true ending and DS4/5 will feature this sigil heavily.

Spoilers (because better safe then sorry): Like Tarrabah said, it's Envy. She took the form of a shadow at the start of the game, followed you until you defeated all 7 of the Sins, and betrayed you when you were most vulnerable to claim power. You nearly die, but are sent back to fight her as the true final boss.

I hated him so much tho, he is an hypocrite. He feels on debt with war not because he cares for him, but for a thing happened in the books where war dies to buy him time to complete a mission (he gets resurrected) so he wants to settle the scores. But what about all the brothers and sisters he killed on eden? Come on, strife is a psychopath killers and even he shows more remorse about it! Death does question his choice sometime, sure, but not that much since then he just sacrifices them. It's not like resurrecting all humanity does anything to absolve war of his non existent crimes, since you didn't prove who the real traitor was. I hate him as a character.

Well I didnt like too many RPG aspects in DS2. The 1st was the best I only missed some climbing and the horse in DS3.

@@pingupongo5275 What? I mean they don't beat you over the head with it, but it's pretty clear that Death is torn by having betrayed the Nephilim. He goes through all of the game basically hoping there will be a way to bring them back. That's why the sacrifice of their souls is a big deal.
