I'll add one more game to that list - an MMO set after dealing with the Council, with humanity establishing itself under the guidance of the Horsemen. Players pick a particular Horseman's techniques they are learning and go from there.

I want 1 game were you get to see what death and fury were doing during genesis,death can play out the same but for fury I hope they fix her play style and personally I wish I had a version of 3 that doesn't copy dark souls and kills rampage wich was stupid.

@@Lodrelhai I actually would really like to see a human level story. That could be a spin off game franchise. Survival horror, or 3 person action. I think the lore is so big they could continuity the franchise indefinitely. Heck I would even mind playing as Ulthane. I could see a pretty fun action brawler starring his character.

Look for Darksiders Land of Myth and Legends. That's the blog I'm using currently. The first one is more of an archive spot with a version of the fic that I decided not to finish. Just be aware I'm not the most active poster as stuff gets busy for me and too much at once gets overwhelming after a time. Not to mention that motivation is hard when you don't get noticed much.

Strife is going to get his own game

I e heard that the plan that the original devs at vigil had was to make the first four games about 1 horseman each, and then make the 5th one pick up after the cliffhanger of Darksiders 1 and it would feature all 4 horsemen in 4 player co-op. I've got no idea if the current devs are sticking to that plan. (Genesis was kind of an outlier because it was made by a separate group than Darksiders 3, which Is presumably the same group that will make Darksiders 4, which would be Strife's solo adventure)

@@beavers1978 in the opening cutscenes of Darksiders 1 Angels and demons are falling from the sky engulfed in re-entry flames of the Esrth’s orbit. The fact they survive impact as well as the extreme heat with little to no effects makes me think the nuclear option won’t do anything other hurt humanity. Samael simply knows how to play with the system. His enemies tried to fuck with the balance, and he refused to take part knowing that it would make the Council rain down the horsemen's wrath on them. And the results were exactly what he wanted, the horsemen came, he helped them destroy his opponents, now he gets the Council to gift him for being a allied to the Balance

@@nathanielclaw2841 OK but I've noticed that for some odd reason his interest and the Council seems to line up very well. In my opinion its suspicious how they've sent the Horseman to free Samael from Prison and of course in Genesis under the guise of suspicious activity War and Strife are sent to question Samael who conveniently knew the full details of the plan despite supposedly taking no part even though he clearly does so by pointing them in the right direction and also his knowledge of their true power and unleashing it several times. This is way to many circumstances. The Council was ultimately cool with what Lucifer had done and imo clearly assisted him. They've deceived the Horseman before and have sent them on missions under false pretenses. Its not that far a stretch to consider Samael at least to be bigger than his status

The reason why his interests line up very well, is because Samael is a master manipulator with even more patience than Death. He listens, he watches and he schemes accordingly. In Genesis, he knew that Lilith was trying to recruit allies in her war against humanity after the fall of the Nephilim (an event he witnessed happening, as mentioned by Death. Samael went and observed the battle). He probably expected a visit from the Mother of Monsters ever since he saw Death drive his blades in Absalom's chest, so he was prepared for her coming. So when she came to visit him, he was ready and as she tried to win him over, he likely forced her to put all her cards on the table and from this, he most likely reckoned that the creation of an Animus was the easiest way to fullfil her plans. However, he also realized that it wouldn't be in his own best interest, so he rebuffed her, now privy all that was to know of her plan. So when Lucifer came to him with his proposal, Samael immediately recognized Lilith's hand in the matter and refused against, both annoyed and intrigued that they still would try to recruit him. What he didn't count on, was Lucifer going to Moloch, who clearly had a score to settle with Samael and give him enough power and means to actually be threat to Samael. However Samael isn't an idiot, he knew that his refusal would have consequences, even if he didn't know how severe, so he most likely spread the rumor that he was working with Lucifer himself, though through someone who couldn't directly linked back to him. At this point he shows why he is one of the greatest strategist minds in Creation as well as the one of the most skilled manipulators. By spreading the rumor, he was almost certain that the Council would try to have an audience with him first. As second of Hell, rumored to conspire with Lucifer, he might know the most or possess the biggest threat. But this allowed him to plead his case with Horsemen before someone could turn them on him. By acting innocent and having no direct connection to Lucifer as by his refusal, he was safe from their wrath. By helping them, he would temporary curry favor with the Council and the Horsemen but most importantly with Lucifer. Without risking his own life and limbs, he helped the Dark Prince's plan to succeed without the Council being able to act against him. He aided the Horsemen with the task the Council demanded of them. So his hands were clean, even if he was playing them. During the Apocalypse, he probably knew that Lucifer would start to see him as a real threat, so he must have prepared for the moment that they would betray him, he made a plan with Vulgrim. He counted on the fact that Lucifer would be able to kill him and only imprison him, and perhaps strip him of his powers. When this happened, it was up to Vulgrim to go to the Council. Samael was well aware that the Council would want to eliminate the Destroyer and everyone involved in his plot and seeing how he had no part in that scheme either, he once again can take advantage of their plans. Also the Council didn't send War to free Samael, he was send to hear what Vulgrim had to say, who long sought an audience with them. In short, Samael know how to take advantage of others plans to further his own machinations and most prominently, all of his plans are always within bounds to never attract the attention of others more powerful than him. He is brilliant and powerful but not arrogant and the few times that he went against more powerful beings, he had a back-up plan to get back on top. This is the big difference between the likes of Samael and Lucifer and the Masters used by Lucifer in his scheme. The latter thought themselves untouchable while Samael and Lucifer know there isn't such a thing as untouchable.

I believe it's implied that Samuel has omniscients (the ability to know everything) but I don't think it's true omniscients since he has to talk with people to find everything out (or at at least it seems that way to me from what what I've seen in game)

Gareth Cowie yea also it’s possible he has guys watching the council too since it’s possible for guys to do that and see their plans. Honestly both sides is possible from the information we know so far.

Somewhere it's mentioned he has "borderline Omniciance" but honestly it's very possible he still has spies everywhere. DS4 (if they continue to follow the announced plan which we hope they do) will be Strife's solo story followed by DS5 a 4 player Co-Op game taking place after the events of DS1

True Masters and Morons thanks for the reply guys so my other thoughts are that when/if strife gets his own game he is played a bit during the time when fury is on earth till after where he finally meets and/or fights Lucifer and potentially dies where the makers takes his guns later. Also you said that the super forms are confirmed to be the power given to them by the council? So how does war get his back in 1? Finally what are your hopes for the future games? Thanks again

Honestly we assume it will either be his story leading up to the events of DS3 and then he dies there. Or we get to play a pre apocalypse him on some adventure. :P Because the council had sealed it not removed it, and in the same way that Samael unlocked it for the two of them in Genisis he re unlocked it for War in DS1

Abomination Vault is the only book. There are however, 2 comics, one which has largely been rendered non-canon thinks to retcons called Darksiders: The Graphic Adventure, and the other which focuses on Death called: Darksiders: Death's Door. Hope that helps :)
