I played all the games

First 2 games were good, but the 3rd had no mini map at all. And the Genesis game was more like diablo

@@brianbumstead2682 The game had the top down like Diablo, but the gameplay itself was very much like Darksiders 1. My only issue with it was the fixed camera. I like to be able to control that sort of thing.

War is more dangerous mighty and destructive but Death is nigh unkillable. Not sure War is tank out of the two. There is a comic where War goes on a rampage and Death lets him impale him with his sword just so other horsemen can talk him down... So he just stands there with a sword trough him and just waits till it is over. War learned to control himself eventually, but I adore that all horsemen are ultimately united by their care for one another.

@@Matej_Sojka I agree with you with regards to Death's durability, my intent was just to differentiate them with regards to basic gameplay (or those who've just seen the cinematics). 😀👍

I find it interesting that each game in this series is essentially a different genre or sub-genre of action game.

@@Matej_Sojka not to mention that the reason War has that gauntlet on his hand is because Death quite literally cut off his hand.

Was hoping to see that trailer bundled into this well. Though it could be bit complicated for reactors considering the bits of copyrighted music at the end.

Ugh Strife NEEDS a game, always pictured him a bit wild, loved his appearance in 3

@@jimmyju76 THQ are working on a fresh entry for the Darksiders franchise, on november of 2021 promotional art was posted by Anton Lavrushkin and commissioned “for THQ Nordic on the Darksiders franchise." and I remember one of devs said that they want to make a new Darksiders to be an FPS game, guess who's the one with Guns. Someone said its a Lilith on that promo-art, probably going to be a prequel, coz Strife mention about his past in Genesis a lot, and we know that Genesis is way before D1, my guess is we're going to see new Doom-like game with Strife abilites))))

There is also a game where Strife is one of two playable characters... That guy is conflicted introspective and incredibly deep. Every time you think you have him figured out he effortlessly surpises you.

Death sounds like a lot of fun and would be cool to see his personality more 😀

Fantastic description here. The willingness of people to type this all out for newcomers shows how passionate and loving fans of this franchise can be. You're very right on how Darksiders 3 has the most obvious character development out of the games so far. I'd personally say that with Fury, a large thing of her is mainly about cowardice and propping herself up to be more than she is, hence the bombastic attitude. As Lust point out, Fury desires protection and safety even despite being a Blood Knight (really enjoying battle), and if i remember correctly Darksiders 3 implies this was the main reason she became one of the Horsemen. Not truly for a sense of balance, right and wrong, but for personal safety and self-aggrandizement. But she *still* dearly cares for her brothers. Despite taking a jab at Death at one point how he stinks like a corpse, which she had to endure after sharing a room for a long time, and wanting to take over his position as the leader of the Horsemen... the scene with Lust yet again illustrates this big aspect of her. Yes, she looks like a Dominatrix knight and has an attitude to match, caring little for people's input that doesn't take her as seriously or flatter as much as she wants to. I think this is in large part because she expects people to automatically respect a Horseman, but... nobody respects Fury. Wrath even explicitly says that out of the Four, he and his six siblings always considered her the dumb one. . But all that said... Fury absolutely does NOT want her own brothers to be bootlicks to her, or to be "below" her. In part she knows her brothers are stubborn. So that tipped her off even during the exhilarating thrill of Lust's illusions offering Fury what she, well, lusts after. But the larger part of who Fury is, strongly respects her brothers and she gets absolutely enraged at seeing her siblings get disrespected in such a manner. And perhaps Fury simply knows that she is not fit to lead the Horsemen, despite her expressing desire to do so. One could see it as her trying to fool herself into that being her purpose-- something to live for, an actual goal. Something more concrete to work towards and not just languish in safety, riding on the coattails of the reputation of your siblings. Even though Fury is *definitely* powerful, but the third game doesn't represent this super well. That's just my views on it. I know there's people out there that *vehemently* dislike Darksiders 3 and one person in particular i've seen going around has managed to explain his reasoning very well. And I understand it, don't always agree with it and yet Darksiders 3 is probably my least favourite in the series. There are things i don't like about it too, like for example how Wrath, in comparison to let's say Lust, is so... bog-standard (even though he has a cool design). Would it not have been more interesting if Wrath was a very calm, simple-clad and dignified looking creature, that spoke as if constantly trying to keep itself together... and then can absolutely explode? Wrath and feelings of being wronged can be more subtle, hidden and scary like that, and do serious damage to one's environment. For Fury's growth and story, this would have probably been a stronger way of teaching her to keep her, well, fury in check. Not hide it to let it fester and only take shape in damaging ways-- but using the anger as a motivator, to channel it into a direction you want to pursue on your own volition and build something of your own to be proud of. Instead of only trying to bring others down to make yourself look taller. Instead, it's more "Your anger fuels me! You can't defeat me like this!" and... that's true, but when you look at the likes of Lust or Pride, you see how strong the Sins exactly can be as presences of their own, and mirrors to Fury's own desires. But that's just my own ideas. I am hoping for perhaps a Darksiders 3 remake or something in the future, but MUCH more than that-- i hope for future games at all, like a Genesis for Fury and Death, Darksiders 4 with Strife, and a final Darksiders that brings all the Horsemen together in a worthy finale. THat is what i hope, wish, and fitting for the religious inspirations, even pray for. This was a big comment and i apologize if it got rambly or difficult to follow. But if you read through it all, thank you for taking time out of your day to do so, and I wish you a good rest of your week.

One thing I love is how they change their gimmick each game. Darksiders 1 was pure hack and slash. 2 looked like an Action RPG, 3 feels like a watered down souls game (which means I can play it and hope to beat it). All they need to do is to make an FPS with Strife and they are golden :)

@@viktorvondoom5950 Given Strife uses two guns... that is not a bad suggestion. But if they do not do a Darksiders game with all 4 Horsemen after Strife´s game and not make his game be the 4 reunited I will be disappointed. I want all 4 to have the solo spotlight before they come together.

3 is slightly during 1 during the apocalypse since War is already imprisoned

@@jimmyju76 Well that is technically correct you're right. However the bulk of 3 is before the bulk of 1. I imagine reacting to these kind of things without actually playing the games it can get confusing for them.

At the moment Death jumps in the Well of Souls sacrificing himself and bringing back humanity,War is killed by Uriel who also shatters the 7th seal bringing back the Horseman and having them ride into battle at full power to punish all be they the sons of man,the dregs of hell or the angels of heavens.

That’s a fun in game ability?, mechanic? Can’t think of right word to use, but it’s cool all the same 🤗😎🤟

Thanks so much for giving brief synopsis of each game and how it all ties in. Seems like some fun world building and interesting that they kinda change up the gameplay a little bit from game to game to fit each horseman 🤔🙂

@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames If you do the timeline of the series is a bit... peculiar. The first entry, Chronologically, is Darksiders Genesis. Second Entry is technically Darksiders 1 but only the beginning of it, next is Darksiders 3, halfway through 3 Darksiders 2 starts, and Darksiders 3 ends halfway through Darksiders 2, this is also when Darksiders 1 starts for the rest of 2. It's confusing but once you see the story you'll understand why.

@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Sorry if it's a spoiler I wanted to clarify it a bit in a general way: "Darksiders Genesis" would tell an adventure between War and Fight (the rider with the guns xD) that would happen before everything that happened in the other games (from what I understood since I didn't play it), then "Darksiders 3" would happen telling us Fury's journey hunting the deadly sins while War is judged by what would happen at the beginning of "Darksiders 1" and then in "Darksiders 1" he would tell us War's journey looking for the real culprit, while Death parallelly seeks to eliminate the charges against his brother in a trip between worlds in "Darksiders 2" (where the first ends, the second also ends chronologically and that is why the fourth would start from that point, if it ever comes out)

The Battle of Eden (explained in every game but "Darksiders") 2. War losing his arm ("Darksiders - Graphic Novel" (comic, semi-canon)) 3. "Darksiders: Genesis" (taking place just after the Battle of Eden) 4. "Darksiders: The Abomination Vault" (novel, taking place 500 years after the Battle of Eden) 5. "Darksiders: Death's Door" (comic, taking place between 200 and 300 years before the start of "Darksiders") 6. The Prologue mission in "Darksiders" (there is a timeskip after the prologue) 7. This was a huge event in the game industry because the developer collapse of one studio, IPs purchased by another and new studio creation that people don't normally see.
