One of the best immersive sims ever made. Absolutely fantastic level design and player freedom. The “Black eyed bastard” that Daud mentions in one trailer is a character called the Outsider, an eldritch god who empowers people with his mark based on his own whims. Daud is one of the antagonists in the base game, an infamous assassin and mercenary leader hired by the villain to kill the Empress. He was one of the Outsider’s interests before Corvo, the main character, and also carries his mark, which grants him access to a wide range of supernatural abilities. In the dlc you play as Daud and go through a parallel story where you can possibly redeem him and repair some of the damage he did. In a way the outsider is setting Corvo and Daud against each other for his own amusement, empowering Corvo to hunt him down and possibly kill him, depending on choices you make as both characters. Choice is a big deal in the games, both in gameplay style and narrative moments, and has large effects on story and character outcomes, as well as level layouts and objectives.

Dishonored is in my top 3 favorite games of all time (The other 2 being The Witcher 3 and Red Dead Redemption 2). I played the shit out of this game and find myself replaying it every other year or so. Great game I never get tired of playing. The sequel, while not as good as the first game, isn't half bad either. Regarding the gameplay, there are two ways to play. You can go non-lethal, knocking out hostile NPCs and only killing main targets (Or alternatively not killing them at all as there are ways to eliminate them where they keep their lives) Oooor... you can do as is shown in the trailers, and stab, slice, and butcher your way throughout Dunwall. The way you play leads to a different ending outcome, but the violent path results in the bleaker ending.

Dishonored is probably one of my favorite series. Combining steampunk with London and giving you superpowers and told to go have fun it’s great. You see a lot of killing in the trailers but you can actually play these games entirely “non-lethal” but the endings for these guys are sometimes worse than death like cutting off two brothers tongues and forcing them to work forever in their own slave mines or in 2 putting a genius inventor into his own electric chair and shocking him till he becomes braindead. Technically not dead but also pretty close. Like Batman. Also a 9:15 that’s actually Dan Bull singing in his Dishonored Rap and I had no idea they used his audio for it which is awesome since you wouldn’t expect a KZfaqr to be recognized by the devs like that

I love this game, some many ways to complete each mission. The city evolves with how high or low your chaos is when you complete missions. The world the first game builds, with the city of Dunwall, is amazing. Steampunk and magic intermixed is always intriguing. And yeah, in the base game you play as Corvo Attano, the Lord Protector (bodyguard of the Empress), framed for the Empress's assassination out to get the real people responsible. There's various plot twists I won't go into in case you guys play (and you really should, the game is amazing). In the story DLCs you play as Daud, the assassin who was hired to kill the Empress, and get more of his story and his side of things. Plus the last DLC sets up the events of the sequel.

Glad to see you react to this, the Dishonored games are really good. One of the neatest things about them is you can go through all of the games without killing anyone or even being seen. This includes the major targets; each of them can be eliminated non-lethally, and some of the solutions for doing so are pretty twisted. One target can be handed over to a creepy stalker, never to be seen again, another can be branded as a heretic and cast out of society, there's one from the second game who can be lobotomized with his own electric chair... There are lots of options for how to play and approach each mission, and as a result, lots of opportunities for player expression.

Oh hells yeah, been waiting for this one, freaking love this series. Allow me to break down some of the setting and story ideas: First and foremost, yes, the last two trailers were for 2 DLC chapters where you play as Daud, the assassin who actually killed the Empress. Dishonored takes place in world divided between a relatively small archipelago collectively known as the Empire of the Isles, and a vast supercontinent known as Pandyssia. Pandyssia is very sparsely explored and settled, with most of the inland regions being largely unmapped and unknown. Pandyssia is also home to a ton of super deadly monsters, creatures and diseases. An expedition to Pandyssia that ends with only 4 5ths of the crew losing their lives or sanity is considered a success. The Empire of the Isles, meanwhile, is settled and "civilized". Culturally, they're somewhere between the Renaissance and Industrial Revolution, but technology took a huge leap forward into steam punk territory once certain properties of refined whale oil were discovered. Dishonored whales barely resemble ours. For one thing, they have tentacles around their mouths. For another, they have glowing runic markings on their bodies. Finally, they have a connection to the Void. The Void is a mystical and mysterious dimension said to be what the world was formed from, and where it is being slowly sucked back into. In other words, the Void is both the beginning and the end. Only one being calls the Void home(or maybe is the Void personified. That being is the Outsider. The Outsider is not the Devil, he doesn't make deals per se, he doesn't collect souls. People directly worshipping him (it?) bores him. Rather, he keeps an eye on what is happening in the world, and "gifts" people he finds interesting with his mark, which grants magical abilities such as teleportation, telekinesis, slowing or outright stopping time, the ability to possess people and animals, etc. There is only one organized religion(besides worshipping the Outsider, which, again, he dislikes), the Abbey of the Everyman, whose priests are called Overseers. The Abbey doesn't worship a god of any kind, as there doesn't seem to be one. Rather, their whole purpose is about suppressing magic and fighting against the Outsider. He's unimpressed by the Abbey and considers them a cult. At the start of the 1st game, Dunwall, capital of both the island of Gristol and the Empire as a whole, is suffering from a plauge spread by rats originating from Pandyssia. Said rats are vicious little buggers who move in large swarms and attack even living people on sight. They can strip corpses down to nothing in a matter of seconds. The plauge has several phases, the last and worst before death is causing people to become "weepers", basically living zombies with no logic or reason, blood dripping from their eyes, and swarms of flies around them. Main character Corvo Attano is the Royal Protector, the personal bodyguard to the Empress Jessamine and her daughter Emily, who is roughly 10 or so. Corvo is returning from a tour of the other islands trying to get help for the Rat Plauge. Not long after arrival, Daud and his men appear, kill Jessamine and kidnap Emily. Corvo is framed for the act and is thrown in prison. The real master mind of the assassination, spymaster Hiram Burrows, steps in as Lord Regent and starts cracking down on the populace with increasingly strict and brutal curfew and quarantine laws. The story really starts 6 months later with Corvo escaping prison and joining the Resistance movement against the Lord Regent. Anyways, really happy you did this. Cheers!

One of my favorite games of all time, it's hard to get all the story when they're moving so fast but the jist of it is the second guy is dlc and he's the one the killed the empress in the original story and your character was planned to take the fall. That man that appears talking to Corvo and Daud is called the outsider and he gives power to people he finds interesting, Daud was given these powers first, Wich he used to become the leader of an assassin group in the city, Corvo was given powers by the outsider after he was framed and arrested for the murder of empress.

Welcome to Dunwall! In Dishonored, you are Corvo Attano, the bodyguard of Empress Jessamine Caldwin. The entity you see, the black-eyed man? He is called The Outsider, and nobody serves him, though there are cults worshipping him (this is illegal by the way and considered heresy, punishable by death). He gifts his Mark to those he find interesting and the choices they make is what he enjoys observing. Every person bearing the Outsiders mark has their own unique powers, shaped by their wants, desires and needs of the moment. You might have noticed the trailers features two people with powers. Corvo, the bodyguard-turned-assassin out for revenge, and Daud, the Knife of Dunwall, who killed the Empress. Corvo is the central figure of the main story, while Daud got his own 2-parter DLC story set in the intervening 6 months between when Corvo was arrested for the Empress' death and when he breaks out of prison to begin his quest for vengeance. Delilah the witch which Daud mentions being in a duel with is another bearer of the Mark of the Outsider. This Mark allows them to use magic, and is the only real way to use magic in the world of Dishonored. What's awesome about Dishonored is the freedom of choice. Sure the game has a storyline that's practically set in stone. You go through objectives A, B, C, D etc, in that order, BUT! You can choose what you want to do to achieve said objectives. As an example, you can choose to go on a murder spree and kill everyone that crosses you. OR you can be more stealthy about it, sneak past most threats and eliminate only key targets. You can even go full pacifist and not kill a single person, even the main targets aka bosses. Whichever path you go, this changes the future of the game. If you kill a lot of people, the city's chaos rating rises up and you'll find more rat swarms and infected people throughout the city, while if you're more pacifist, there will be more city guards patrolling the streets. Both methods bring their own risks and benefits and the ending changes depending on how much chaos you sow during your quest for revenge. There's so many ways and options. The time stop you see is just one of many things you can do, but its an expensive mid-game power you have to save up for if you want it. To begin with you only have the primary ability "blink", a short-range teleport which can be upgraded for longer range. For comparison and explanation of differences; Daud's version of Blink is a time-stop teleport that has shorter reach that Corvos Blink, but it slows down time and when upgraded stops it while you can turn around mid-air and aim it, while the main character of Dishonored 2 has "Far Reach" which is basically a tendril of shadow that grips a location and pulls you to it really fast. It's not a teleport, so you CAN get spotted, but it has much longer range than the Blink abilities.

Dishonored 1 and 2 are essentially lightning in a bottle; many of the art and concept designers of Half Life 2 worked on this game for very long time, and it's an amazing sandbox of mini stories and mechanics just like HL2. So they do not tell you in the trailers but your character is the Empress's Protector and the one pñerson she can trust. One of the nice part about the game is that you can be an out right killer or find justice in other ways and you can be stealth or have a great big fight with lots of dealths. So Stay Safe and have a great day

Amazing game, would say one of my all time favourites. Dishonored 2 was also great. Very steampunk vibe, love the story, the DLCs, all the "powers" you get as a character, you can also play it as full on killing spree, or attempt to finish the game without killing anyone (I have done both). Using stealth, your choice of powers and weapons, making choices to kill or get rid off in other ways those who wronged you, makes it such an amazing story and a great game to play! You also get tons of other things to do while playing each level, such as looking out for "treasures" etc. Honestly, you could play it for ages, especially if you wanted to experience different outcomes.

I absolutely love Dishonored! Definitely my favourite stealth game because the story is so good and I love just how important Emily is to Corvo and you genuinely feel anger and the emotion anybody would feel if someone killed the woman you love and kidnapped your daughter. I’ve done this game full stealth, without being spotted, without killing anybody and even high chaos where you kill loads it’s an amazing game. I would absolutely love a third game soon!

Dishonored, my favorite game ever!! So glad for this reaction! I highly suggest you watch The Tales From Dunwall videos next as they cover a bit of lore 💜 And yes, Daud is the assassin who killed the empress and Corvo was framed for it. Which only happened because Corvo came back sooner from a trip. Originally, Daud was supposed to kill the empress and that was all, end of the story. Bad timing on Corvo's part, I guess 😅 Also, the "blade" on Daud's wrist is actually a crossbow!

I love this The Outsider guy. He's not good, not bad. Not even neutral. He's just bored. So he gives his mark to interesting people and watch outcome. As for the gameplay itself, I love the freedom this game offers. Not only freedom in the way of mu'rder. On yt there are whole compilations of how amazing it is to have fun there. It's like a mur'der-sandbox. But ... there are several targets to kill in the game. But if you k'ill them ... people will know you as a bloo'd avenger. With each successive target kil'led, the country will fall into disrepair. Until you finally unlock the bad ending. However, the alternative ... is not saving targets. But to make them a much worse hell. A simple example. You are to elim'inate the two brothers who sponsored the coup. But instead of just ki'lling them (or in a very fancy way) ... you can get along with a certain mafia. Their leader will shave the brothers bald, cut their tongues out. And he will send them to work in THEIR mines. This blade thing on arm is a crosbow.

Dishonored, another awesome (must play) series! Nice stealth gameplay, nice story, awesome atmosphere. Do you play honorable or dishonorable is the question though ;) Also, not that long games either. About 10-12 hours for the main story in the first and 30-40 hrs for completionists. The second is also about 12 hours main story, 40-50 hrs for completionists, but you can spend 100 hrs in this one xD

The Dishonored franchise is so gd brilliant. While I like the second game more, the first game has one of the best end credit songs in any video game I've ever seen and just such an amazing story. The gameplay is excellent (the second game is better in that regard, and Emily is an amazing character even more than Corvo) but the MYTHOLOGY and worldbuilding is just inspired and amazing, and is what really drew me in. The TT RPG by Modiphius is also solid. Just a quick (attempting little to no spoiler) summary: --the world is definitely Steampunk, with a lot of dark aspects. The Outsider is a weird, Loki-ish god who is more interested in interesting people than being worshipped, and seeing what they do with the Mark/Magic (and all Magic comes from him). You learn more about him as the games go on, and the main religion is devoted to rooting out people with knowledge of him or access to his magic (as well as controlling the populace). The tech is powered by 'whale oil' but as you see those whales in the Outsider's realm, its basically Magi-tech, and that's really cool as games go on. --Because the concept is "the Outsider curious what kind of person you are and what you will do with power" the game evolves based on your actions. If you go full stealth and don't kill folks, you get a brighter, happier, more positive world and ending. But if you do things that cause chaos (killing, being seen, certain plot points, etc) you get darker and darker endings. You can generally avoid the darkest ending and get a middle one by doing some good stuff along the way even if you do murder folk. --In the first game you're playing a 'grew up from nothing" soldier-turned-Royal-Bodyguard names Corvo. The Empress (your charge and maybe more) is killed and her daughter kidnapped. The Outsider (as you saw) gives you magic, and waits to see what happens. --As you guessed, the DLC for the first game is you playing the assassin of the Empress, whose name is Daud. He's a fascinating character, and it basically all takes place before your encounter with him as Corvo. --In the second game you choose to play Corvo again or Emily (the daughter-now-Empress), who has a different suite of powers. Multiple playthroughs lets you pick and mix their power sets, but the story is directly related to the antagonist of the Daud DLC (the Brigmore witches) --In the third game, which should have been a DLC of the second in my opinion), you play a new character (that you meet earlier) as she explores the history of the Outsider. The TT RPG, which adds some details to the world, assumes its before the first game on the whole, but you can play it at any point really. It's not as robust a game system from that company as say Star Trek Adventures or the new Dune Imperium game, but is still really neat.

Dishonored 1 seem to be a combination of Assassin’s Creed meet Arcane with you playing as Corvo Attano, a royal guard to the Empress and her daughter. Soon during time of protecting her, she and him get jumped by “Assassins” but they kept the daughter alive. Only Corvo saw what happen and got accused for the death. This game is very key on Stealth or you can on blood lust. When I play it, I went both ways in the game. Also in the main game, if you keep killing with witnesses, there is a special “Art” at the end, but you can be pacified with no killing and witness. Each way you go, have 3 or more endings. The DLC in the game take you in journey life as Daud, his story take place after killing empress and before Corvo coming to take care of him. It’s a fun experience game our there and you two can try out with the Remastered version for PS5 with all content from the game. Till playing Dishonored 2, is a sequel and worth checking out 😌 Also a little history of your time, if you get Dishonored Game of The Year edition from GameStop for the old version for Xbox or PS3, you get Corvo’s Ski Mask with your purchase.

The way it works is that if you kill more than 20% of the humans per mission (animals don't count), you'll end up on the Middle Chaos path. Kill more than 50% per mission and you are on the path to High Chaos. However, these percentages aren't written in stone; there are other actions you can take that will increase or decrease chaos. For example, in one mission, there is a woman in an abandoned factory surrounded by rats. If you save her, it decreases chaos. There are obvious changes in the mission depending on the level of chaos. In general, the higher the chaos is, you will have more guards, more rats, more weepers (plague victims), etc., and minor differences in the environment (for example, in the final mission on Kingsparrow Island, if you are in High Chaos, there will be a large storm on the island.) It is entirely possible to play the entire game without being detected once and without killing anyone.
