I knew Darren’s brother Ben when I lived in my home town of Southampton,who was an absolutely cracking lad, He introduced me to him once,and when I met him he shook my hand and introduced himself as Darren in his playing days. As a football fan i obviously knew, but that just shows that he has and had zero ego or arrogance and was really humble and polite…. All the best boys 🍻👊

As a big spurs fan who used to go week in week out through the 90s have to say Darren was up there with the best players I saw live. Up there with Teddy, Ginola and Modric as the best we had.

As a young Spurs fan I was 9 years old watching Euro 96, and Anderton quickly became my favourite player. Great to have it confirmed that he’s such a nice bloke as well! You have to do gimmes in match play though, it’s literally a fundamental part of the game. Not having them is daft.

Another great video, Tubes! Being Canadian, I'm not familiar with too many of the footballers you have on as guests. In fact, I'd never heard of Jimmy Bullard until watching your channel. However, I am very familiar with Darren. He has done commentary here in Canada on TSN. I always enjoyed his work. He helped explain the game's finer points to a hockey-mad country. After watching Golf Life regularly now for some time, I can say without reservation that football players are just as classy as hockey players. In North America hockey players are absolutely known to be the most humble and approachable professional athletes. I can say, from watching your videos, football players are cut from the same cloth. Very classy and down to earth.

To give perspective to how good Darren was you almost hoped he was injured when playing your team, he was a rolls royce down that wing his long languid stride was deceptively quick and such a great crosser of the ball, very underrated player and it's such a shame he got those injuries and the sick note nickname, you don't realise the effect it has on players when the media put these things out there. Top player and super nice guy, I cracked up when he said "Some people are on the pitch" 😂

I do get the no gimmies but when you play Matchplay gimmies is apart of the tactics give a few early short putts and then later on make them make a short putt different kind of pressure
