This is actually the song that turned me on to Darren. I never was a big Savage Garden fan but a lot of Darren's solo stuff is absolutely amazing.

Darren is so charismatic! I remember when this came out in 2004, loved it from the first listen! That electronic sound was a big departure from his first solo record. Anton, you should listen to Darren’s new solo material. “Poison blood” is great, as is ¨Let’s try being in love”. His vocals are still insane!

Such an underrated song. And it was hilarious video. His story about making the music video was so funny.

Good track this one. I remember thinking how different it was for him. I was a nightclub DJ when this came out and it had some good remixes.

This song is from Darren's The Tension And The Spark album from 2004. The album is brilliant and one of my favorite Darren album. The album has a more electronic and darker style and has some of his best songs ever like "Unlovable", "Darkness", "Hero", "Void" and "Love And Attraction".

It’s all in jest obviously- he definitely isn’t a sleep my way to the top type person. Great fun song though - still like it years on, not my favourite Darren song but still love all he does ❤

You missed the irony. This whole thing is a sarcastic commentary on the whole "famous" world. Basically, Darren was depressed and disillusioned, and out of the anger, resentment and hopelessness came the masterpiece that is this album. This song was kind of his way of saying "F*** this". "I just sold my soul" kinda gives that away. He recently was in a podcast discussing his entire discography and he, himself theorized that people maybe didn't get the irony when it first came out. Oh, and he didn't have permission to film any of this. So what you see are all natural generic reactions. Darkness is from the same album. Just to put some perspective into the headspace he was in. I think it helps with liking this song in particular when you know the context of it. Not one of my favorites of his anymore. From this album came my favorite though. "Darkness". You already reacted to that. It got knocked off its 1st place when his newest album came out. I'll leave a request for that in the Discord!

Out of curiosity how are you going to get famous?

Interesting. A real unusual song for him. Maybe he wanted to try to something different? Personally I think this song doesn't fit him at all and his vocal ability can't shine here.
