I like it. You can tell they wanted to do something different, and for the most part they got it right. Had it been able to export data, it could have scored even higher.

Yes! Throw in a BT chip with data exporting and lookout! Might seriously impact that awesome battery life though..

Just bought one. Wish the NCV was as sensitive as your meter. Most of the time it barely detects All the other features work great. Well worth the money.

Hey Darren, what should I be looking for in a DMM for electronics and ham radio type work, specs and features? So much out there, I'm just starting out and don't want to get something I'll just replace right away. Thanks for all the videos you make, I love the tear downs.

Hey my friend...Thx for the kudos! Bench electronics/ham radio reccommend.....well a multimeter with good resolution and precision is important. I'm currently the midst of updating our TopTen CHEAP-O Multimeter list [should be completed by end of March] I will say the DMT-99 is a multimeter I could easily reccommend and it has a very user friendly interface with really good precision. Also the KAIWEETS HT118E is another greeat all around dmm.

Not bad. Looks clean, modern and quite capable. I really hope LiPO and Li-ion batteries become standard in multimeters. Some of my tools still use 9v Krona batteries. Not only are they expensive, but they're like 200 mAh for Ni-Mh.

Definitely a 2024 looking dmm for sure! Those rechargeable LiPO cells are not only long lasting but cheap to replace. Quite a progressive multimeter at a very reasonable price. 👍

FNIRSI blindsided the CHEAP-O Multimeter Realm I 2024. This is going to be a great year for test gear! 🙌 Resistance 9.999MΩ/999.9KΩ/99.99KΩ/9.999KΩ/999.9Ω/99.99MΩ It doesn't do millohms unfortunately 😅 no 4W here...

The onboard trend display is interesting. Too bad it doesn't have the log export feature too. How do you like your G-003a source compared to the LB02A? Yours is only $70Cdn, Tony tested a few of them. -4 and snow expected in Nanaimo!

Hey Barry, G-003 is very nice. I'm not entirely thrilled with the GUI command/interface but overall it's alot of technology for very little. It's got incredibly good battery life as well. I'll be reviewing it at some point 👉 -4 in Nanaimo eh.. Well +14C in Ottawa tomorrow and I do believe I see a palm 🌴 tree growing in my backyard 😅👍

Fnirsi do deliver a lot if functionality for the price of their instruments. I have their SG-004A, which considering its price has exceptional functionality and pretty decent accuracy. They were quite good with technical support response as well when I asked questions. Just wish they would sort its measurement stability out, which doesn't seem to be an issue with this DMT-99.

You can get pretty much the same battery on a lot of Chinese sites. Or get a larger one if so desired even...

Simply buy a replacement 803450 battery from Banggood or any other online vendor - 12$-15$. 👍

People have differing opinions about the beeping in diode mode. A beep indicates a short, so in theory you would only want to hear a beep if your diode is shorted. Is that how this unit responds in the diode mode? That is, no beep unless diode is shorted?

Correct. As far as the DMT-99 is concerned, no audible diode beep on this meter, period. Hence, no audible alert if the component is shorted. Too bad .. 🙁
