You forgot that Vader had another flashback of C-3PO that made him remember his mother, therefore sparing C-3PO and returning to Chewbacca

He never seemed particularly attached to C-3PO, even in the Clone Wars cartoon it was R2 he was closer to.

I at least expected Vader to feel remorse for what happened to his beloved droid, but… demanding to destroy him and forgetting about him like that? That has to be one of the coldest things I’ve seen. Even for Vader. Anakin was one of the most affected by the Dark side, and this is just one instance

You didn't complete the story. His head then reminded Vader of his mother and he ordered the troopers to return C3PO to Chewy

I also feel as you do. I wouldn’t ever hurt my beloved C3PO. To me, he is a very sweet, kindhearted, loyal, caring friend. When my buddies and I saw him dismantled in the movie, we all cried so hard

It's funny to me that everyone treats Vader and Anakin as separate people. They aren't. Anakin is Vader. Vader is a mask Anakin wears.

They're described as separate personalities in the books. Vader thinks of Anakin as a separate person in his head.

@@RetneysHolocron and other crazy people think they are more than one person. The fact is that they are crazy. Crazy means irrational, which means not logically consistent. Vader is Anakin, Anakin is Vader. Vader is just Anakin in a manic state.

@@oddoutdoors It's more about who he was in the past is dead. When he was turned to Lord Vader he had to throw his Jedi self away which was Anakin. He wouldn't be able to embrace the dark side if he didn't treat his personalities as separate people.
