UPDATE: This video had pretty unfortunate timing, I made this about 8 hours before they announced some changes coming to Vader later next week, I'll list the changes below: - His 80% Damage Reduction while using Force Choke is being removed completely (for now, I feel they may change that again at some point as they've received a lot of backlash). - He can now swing 10 times instead of 8 before his Stamina drains completely. - Changed the description of the “Fueling the Rage” Star Card to “FOCUSED RAGE has an active duration extended by 6 seconds but its bonus damage is reduced.” - When I mentioned the "Punishing Grip" card that extends his Choke duration, DO NOT use that card any more as it will leave you far too vulnerable when you're choking an enemy. I'm going to have to update this guide eventually (again) if he sees too many more changes, but for now, the majority of the video is still relevant/helpful! These videos take around 12 hours of work, so I wasn't really too keen on deleting it once the changes happened, hopefully he doesn't see too many more changes anytime soon! I would like to add an ability combo that Vader has which can half hit almost any hero in the game. When choking an enemy, as on as the choke expires, run forward and jump as low as possible and attack mid-air. Then you will land on the ground before the enemy does and you can use your lightsaber throw instantly which other lightsaber heroes can't block if they are still falling in the air. You can also jump behind the enemy and do a basic attack in the back.

I think that it would be cool if Vader got a damage increase during his choke if people shoot him, so say he was choking luke, it would do 150 instead of 125 if lots of people were shooting him. Also adds to the feeling of dealing damage as he takes it.

I used to be able to outplay 1 or 2 heros at once when the choke actually worked. For some reason most characters can slip out of the animation super early, so they can run away forever. Han Solo and Boba are the biggest offenders. Now I play him like in the movies and just focus on DPS, seems to work wayyyy better now.

Instead of using "There is no escape" star card. I use "Intensified lightsaber throw". It really helps going against special units, heroes, or enemies with added health boost. But, I always wanted to use "There is no escape" star card for the fact that you get to snipe people, but, for the reason I don't, is because throwing the lightsaber does leave vulnerable, as you stated. And since you're throwing further, that is just more time leaving you vulnerable. Also, keep the videos coming. They're always fun to watch!

I'm completely sure they will undo the damage reduction removal if not cancelling it from coming in the patch

8:35 when you were talking about Darth Maul’s agility. I know you said “he has a backup plan built in his arsenal already”. It sounded like you said “He has a backup plan built in his a**hole already”. XD

HVV, Vader can swing 10x before running out of stamina(w/o his middle ability). However, there is a brief pause after every four swings. It may be a bug, or an animation. Try it out ant let me know if I'm the only one.( best to test it right at the beginning of a match).

Thanks for the explanation of Focused Rage timing. I'm a new player and I've been activating the ability after taking damage, during an engagement. Now I know to pop the ability before engaging to get the most out of it.

Great video man hero guides get better and better each time even tho dice hoed you by announcing this change right after the video I honestly think they will change the choke nerf back because of the insane backlash it will get Vader will get melted in seconds in galactic assault with that nerf if he uses force choke hope these guides keep coming there crazy helpful and a lot of characters like yoda and Luke need them with how much they’ve changed

I love the saver throw I can’t tell you how many times I have predicted where they will go or dodged so the lightsaber will hit when it comes back but it’s so satisfying

I have a theory about this. I think dice is trying to water the game down a little bit so it’s new player friendly and they’re hoping the momentum this game has gained through the improvements over the past year (adding much more content and overall improvement of play) will generate sales and new players will be able to keep up with players who’ve been around longer and hope this leads to an expansion of the players base and drive up sales. 🤷‍♂️

You can still get 25% damage reduction with furious resilience during his choke.

What's really bad about this is not only They take away his 90 reduction during choke but they made it where You can dodge it.

I'm not a pro gamer, but let me just correct you a little bit. Punishing Grip is still a great card, even after the future patch. Great, but very situational. It really depends of how successful your choke will be. If you are playing 1v1 or 1v2 - definitely should pick it up. If it comes to 1v3 or more or if you play in some kind of battle mess - then yeah, should choose another card. Last Gasp - I'm actually wonder why didn't you mention it. It's a great card that significantly boosts your damage from choke. It's great to use aside from Hero Showdown. Probably could be a replace for Punishing Grip. Fueling the Rage - useless after a patch. Intensified Saber Throw - useless, because bonus damage relates only to the second (back) hit. In GA it already one-shots the enemy except Heavy. And it will one shot almost every infantry if it successfuly comes back. Deflection Stamina - useless. Only 20% - it will drain almost not any longer. Surrounded by Fear - this card restores only 40% on max level of upgrade. After playing with it for a while - quickly came the understanding that this is practically useless. This card signs to "hey, you lack of stamina in battles, improve your killstreak with that". But again - in HvV it is very situational. If you don't have stamina to finish someone off after you finished someone before - you'll lose health in a battle, so I would rather go back and wait till the both things do restore. In Galactic Assault - it comes more about the abilities rather than single attacks. Besides - in GA there is a lot of real battles, when in which you participate - you lose your health after being in it for a long time. There's practically no problems with stamina in GA. Furious Resilience - pretty situational, again. In HvV - situational, because the ability wastes too fast. Probably should be used while some serious 4v4 is going on or something alike. In GA - yes. There's actually no other good cards. It should be Bonus Health, Furious Resilience, and Last Gasp/There's no Escape (again, third one is situational) So: Galactic Assault: Bonus Health, Furious Resilience, Last Gasp (close quarters map)/There's No Escape (far quarters map). Situational about the third one, really. Heroes vs Villains: Bonus Health, Last Gasp, Furious Resilience SITUATIONAL: Punishing Grip, Surrounded by Fear. Hero Showdown: Bonus Health, Last Gasp, Punishing Grip/Furious Resilience Hope I said everything right. Thanks ✌️

Ahh! You didn't mention how you can spam the attack button/key for extra damage during the duration of "Force Choke"! It really syncs well with the "Punishing Grip" card since it allows for even more damage, but that card may not be the best option anymore anyway because of the "Force Choke" coming that you mentioned. I think one weakness to the choke would be that it can be a bit buggy sometimes. If you try to cancel it, it sometimes doesn't work which can be a boomer sometimes. The choke is getting a tweak soon, so that's good.

Watch out for Luke when he has his intensify card activated. Or he can beat you in a spam off if its fully upgraded with max damage

Am idea for a thing it would be really cool to add to Vader: When he throws his lightsaber, when blocking he will block blaster fire, like he did when he captured Han Solo, by putting up his hand an dB locking it with the force. But ti make this more balanced, he will take let's say a 30% more damage by lightsaber attacks

My darthvader loadout is the star cards that gain 20% stamina back on every kill, 25% less blocking stamina, and extra health. This loadout makes darthvader able to aproach huge groups, typically they'll fire on you to drain your stamina but with this combo if you can continue to get kills by deflecting blaster fire then it feels like you have unlimited stamina

Do maul next. He’s one of the most agile heros

another star card i use for galactic assault is the one that uses less stamina when blocking blaster bolts

A Little Tip With Darth Vader's Saber Throw. (BTW, This Can Work In GA And HvV.) Also This Only Works If You Have The Increased Saber Throw Star Card. So After Using Saber Throw, Move Up With Your Dodge So That You Can Get Your Saber Right Back, And Then Go Back On The Attack.

Honestly I like battlefront's Vader voice probably more than most
