What a team effort!
It was the first West Wood Crew Bike Build at Fahrradzentrale Augsburg.
I'm already very excited how hard and fast I can ride on a hardtail.
The main goal was to build a bike that can do it all, take more than any bike I owned before and still be quite cheap. Time will tell whether I managed to do so with this Mullet Enduro Bike or not ;)

Cool bike I love long travel slack hardtails. They are extremely capable and seriously underrated. They put a smile on your face when on a gbarly downhill you chase down someone on their hidiously expensive full sus enduro rig. They get a surprise when they see it is a hartail that's been on their tail!!

Thanks a lot, I couldn`t have done it without my great team. You are at a great point with your videos, just keep doing it and you will get there. My two secrets I make Bike Builds only in the dark with light setup, so I can control the light. And I watch more Content about filmmaking than about mountainbiking when I´m on KZfaq (Peter McKinnon for example is a big inspiration) Ride Safe and keep doing what you do :D

@@luca.morell It looks like you have a great team and they are all in sync with your vision! Wow! Thanks for that man!! I worked so hard on that one build video. I want to get another bike build going again. Thanks for checking out and replying! I do want to get better at some of the more intricate videography, but I don’t have a team or person to film me yet! Love the video though! The dartmoors seem like they are getting harder to obtain in the USA.
@luca.morell
@luca.morell 3 жыл бұрын
@@motofresh1993 You did an amazing job with your video and anyone who takes a close look can tell that you worked very hard! About the team just ask around if some people you know are into photography and there you go ;) If you don`t find anyone to do that, I`m sure some of your MTB buddies can build a bike too, let them do the building and film them. For my videos I always had a mechanic and never built it myself, because I was needed behind the cam. For more cinematic shots I´d recommend to shoot in the dark with a cheap Light Setup (I have a 4 light setup about 100bucks). And maybe cut out more clips instead of cranking up the speed. If you want to document these timelapse clips are perfect but if you want to make something like Gee Milner they don´t work. Right now it is pretty hard to get anything for your bike here in Germany... Oh and by the way I´m working on a new Bikebuild Video right now, we filmed it a week ago and I only had a friend build the bike, due to the lockdown so I´m stuggling to edit it to be as good as the dartmoor build. Honestly I´m afraid I can´t match the standart of my last one, but that´s the struggle as a creator. The most important thing is to keep moving ;) Ride safe and have fun!

@@luca.morell Thank you 🙏 very much man! You got me as a subscriber for sure! I think I’m mostly on myself for my own stuff but would be sick to get some footy for another bike build or even just riding! I’ll definitely have to upgrade my setup sometime this year!! I agree with the time lapse part, I want to move more to the geeMilner side with is more dark and short full clips. As far as your next video, it will always be a different vibe but I feel like you have some spice to put in or a theme! I think it will be a solid video! I hope to get a blackbird when it’s more available!! Safe wheelies to you Luca!!

@@leonardomalmeida9709 Thank you, the whole video was a team effort with Tim building the bike, Flo and me filming and Raphi assisting. The products are great but in the end it is about having fun on the bike, products are just tools to make that possible. So I think we should treat them like that. Besides that I want my audience to be well entertained, to me there is nothing worse an advertising video that is sold as entertainment. Yes creators have to make money, but you can also integrate product placements in a subtle way. And the decision whether to act on the ads or not should be in the hands of the viewer. Products that are perfect for me might not be right for you ;) You see I'm thinking a lot about these things, this is only what came to mind straight ahead, but this is avery important and complex topic. In my opinion one every creator should think about a lot, otherwise it is easy to loose authenticity and maybe even integrity and there also goes the value of your work...

Great video. Gave me some ideas, like the Deore GS 6000, and the Rockshox 35. I am more leaning towards the Bomber Z2 at the moment but its hard to tell what is in stock, hence good to have alternatives. Are you happy with the 35? What is your wheelset? Any lessons learned from your build? I will get my Banshee Paradox V3 frame in a month or two and currently making plans for my own build.
@luca.morell
@luca.morell 3 жыл бұрын
I'd lean to the Bomber z2 too. The 35 is a good fork but you can't finetune it like those high end forks. But the 35 is hands down the best fork regarding value for money. I got DtSwiss E1900 wheels but the M1900 are maybe better because they are lighter. What I've learned was it is cheaper to go for a Stock Bike and you have to know your stuff, otherwise the parts won't fit together, so so your Research! ;)

Dartmoor has specific 29er frames, I´d stick to their recommendation. Otherwise you could get problems with the tire clearance and mess up the geometry. I used a 27,5/27,5+ frame with a 27,5 backwheel and didn´t go for the 160mm 27,5 fork, I used a 140mm 29er fork. So my bike is a Mullet (29er front and 27,5 back) And it is fun to ride :D

@@luca.morell And Im also stuck with fork. Maybe you could know the answer. If I you want 27,5+ in front, is there any specific fork for it or is just for example 15x110 boost enough? Because I cant find any fork that is specificaly for 27,5+. Sorry for bothering you but I just cant figure this one out... :)

@luca.morell
@luca.morell 3 жыл бұрын
@@ralphlester1207 it is definetly a good combination, I personally would recommend getting a dissector for the back, because the assegai is extremely gippy and doesn`t drift easiely whereas the minion is quite the opposite. Minions drift easiely but predictable. In my opinion the characteristics are too diffrent. I personally will be riding Wolfpack tires, their engineer also designed the Addix (Schwalbe) and Black Chilli (Continental) Compound. Please decide for your self and feel free to ignore my advice ;)

how is it in terms of climbing? I have a hornet 27.5 170mm and struggling to pedal when it comes to steep section. planning to go mullet 150mm travel. do you think it will climb better without the front wheel lifting?
@luca.morell
@luca.morell 3 жыл бұрын
can you maybe lower the stem, if so slam it down as far as possible and try again. It might also help to work on your technique, make sure to sit on the nose of your saddle and lower your chest towards your bar on steep climbs. I think the geometry won´t change a lot if you go mullet with 150mm so I would try everything else first. Otherwise you might spend a lot of money and it won´t change your problem

Can i ask a question sir? What if I buy a hornet frame now and I will stock it for 3 or more years. Does the original color get fade? Or it will still look new after many years of getting stocked? Please sir i want your answer sinnce i am not expert on bike😊
@luca.morell
@luca.morell 3 жыл бұрын
If you store it right the colour will still look the same after 3 years, you have to keep it in the box. The paint will only fade if the frame is put into direct sunlight and hot places, so avoid that. But the standarts in the bike industry change so quick and most likely your taste too, so I'd recommend not to get the frame unless you actually ride it

I'm starting to be more convinced with videos like these but are Dartmoore frames of legitimate quality? It might just be branding but I can't help but wonder as they seem to be a lot cheaper than the competition.
@luca.morell
@luca.morell 3 жыл бұрын
They are pretty solid, I think the two reasons why they are cheaper than the competition: -they are from Poland, so it is way cheaper than in other european contries -other brands invest a lot in very small details, which makes bikes more expensive to engineer and to produce. nontheless in my opinion the dartmoor is well designed and every detail is thought through. If you are looking for value for money it is the perfect option (why I bought it) But if you want something fancy or an exclusive brand you have to look somewhere else * I haven´t been easy on the bike the last 6 months and it takes it very well, I even threw it away and crashed a couple of times
