Full build video of my new Chromag Stylus hardtail.

Drivetrain:
Full Shimano XT M8100 except the Wolf Tooth Components 32t elliptical chainring
Brakes:
Shimano XT M8120 with 180mm Swissstop Catalyst rotors
Wheels:
Custom built by me Chromag Phase30 rims on Industry Nine 1/1 hubs with DT Swiss Competition 2.0/1.8 spokes and Sapim doublesquare brass nipples
Tires/Tubeless:
Onza Porcupine White Edition 27.5x2.4 with full Effetto Mariposa Caffélatex Tubeless Kit (rimtape, valves, sealant)
Cockpit:
Chromag OSX bars, Chromag Ranger V2 31mm stem and Chromag Clutch grips
Saddle/Seatpost:
Chromag Juniper LTD 'metallica' on a Fox Performance Transfer 175mm post and a Wolf Tooth Components ReMote LA ISEV
Seatclamp:
Chromag QR

Hello, my name is Dan Sotelo, co-founder of onZa in 1987. I just love your video, and the love you put into your build of your beautiful Chromag with my beloved white onZa Porcupines. I feel you should know the history of how the white onZa Porcupine tires came to be. Back in 1987 my friend & I started onZa mainly making onZa Bar-Ends and onZa Stainless MTB granny. Chain Rings (the first in the world). In late 87 we received our first preproduction Porcupine tire samples from Taiwan. We immediately contacted John & Linda Parker (founders of YETI cycles in Simi Valley Calif), who were 20 miles from our onZa "Kitchen/Garage office" asking if they want to see our new Porcupine tires. John & Linda said yes and set up a mtg. FYI: Back then Yeti was really getting traction as John Tomack started to ride Yeti bikes and anyone wanting the best knew a Yeti was the MTB to have. Anyways, the mtg day came and John liked our new tire for being so different and could see that it would work very well. So John being a vintage motorcycle collector showed us a motorcycle with white tires and made my partner and I a strange proposition, that if we made our tires white he would run them on his Yeti race team bikes and offer them as an option on his Yeti hand-built bikes. Of course, we said "YES" and thus the white onZa Porcupines were born to become MTB history. Again, Beautiful video. Sincerely, Dan aka Mr. onZa

Been working in a shed basically for many years, since I owned a bike when I was 13. I am 28 now. No tools as a kid or very little, now I have most of what I need, some are self made, some are bought, some are improvised. Not that I am cheap or anything, but my made ones seem to work, the simple ones are bought of course, the more specific ones can be made yourself, like a chain whip. Hard to imagine myself 15 years ago that I'd be pressing plastic BB92 cups in my own carbon frame and shortening hydraulic brake lines. Love to watch such videos, where people share the same passion. After all, they probably do it for a living, I just have a very expensive hobby.

Dear Nick, apart from the aesthetic impressions (simply speaking - I was glad to watch Your video), for many amateur bike mechanics it was interesting to see the specific tools You were using to set the bike. I wasn't even aware of the fact that those smart tools exist. But necessity is the mother of invention. I wrote this remark simply to share positive feelings - I" have built" a few bikes, still I can see there is always something new to learn about. Damian, a teacher, Poland.

Chromag makes amazing frames and parts! They are truly some of the best hardtail’s in the industry and they know that wider is better. I love their Magna40 rims and can’t wait to get some of those loops laced up and on one of my hardtail’s

White wouldn't be my first choice but I'm not riding it so that doesn't matter. Fun fact though did you know most tires used to be white or gummy colored. It wasn't until they started adding carbon dye to tires, to increase strength, that they would become a greyish and then eventually black color we are used to today.

Yes they look great on this bike but having to clean them every time they have bin touched anything outside of your home is just terrible. With my skinwalls i it's not that bad but this? oh dear.

What a great video, seriously. Expertly filmed and good music choice. That was a joy to watch. When I do a bit of work on my bikes I tend to switch off and go into a different mental state, and this video gave me those same relaxing vibes lol. You can tell you're someone who takes pride in their work too. And the finished bike looked really unique, nice one!

We have I started mountain biking in the mid 90s white and natural coloured tyres were common.

Man what a sick build, love the white tires they go perfectly with the bike. Doesn't Marzocchi make a set of white forks? Unfortunately if it were mine I'd be a little unhappy with the reds not matching lol. I recently bought a new bike and have been adding a few things here and there to make it my own and I'm having a hard time to find a matching turquoise colored components and accessories. They're all way too dark in color. Definitely gonna check out your other videos.

Sweet build man!!! Looks beautiful I’m looking to do a Chromag build as well, what is the major difference between your bike and the “Rootdown” and do you ever ride on the pavement? And how does it ride? PS. I love that candy red paint.

Great build. If i could make on recommendation it would be to swap the QR seatpost clamp for an NQR clamp. I've seen a few dropper post failures in the shop due to a QR clamp being over torqued. I personally like the white tires.

Thanks! I decided to go with the QR to be able to quickly lower my seat even more for bikepark use. I might change it to a NQR down the road, as the 175mm dropper makes it kinda redundant. I always try to go as low as possible on the torque with these, as I know how easy it is to overdo it.
