Possibly was my fault for aggravating him but i dont think people like him should be on the roads.
@dgphi5 жыл бұрын
I think that a beep on the horn is appropriate. People sometimes make mistakes or errors of judgement, and it's good to let them know. Normal people will feel embarrassed and learn from it. But yes, erratic drivers can be erratic in other ways too, so it's not good to aggravate them.

All they need to do is add crushed glass to the mix to add grip as thats what we use in NZ south island mainly. It helps so much in wet weather it's not funny as your wet grip is boosted. Sure the down size is a little higher tyre wear but what worth more to you your life or a few hundred dollars every 2 years .

The DC yelling handbrake deserves a shout out. My best mate was in that situation when we were 19. I was riding shotgun. She didn't know what to do because the foot brake did nothing and it was on a hill. The guy who shouted out handbrake at us, saved multiple people. I've got an accent and I'm from L.A., (Lower Alabama). I lived in California, (2 years) and totally lost my accent. Everyone thought I was from the midwest. I believe accents are caused by atmospheric pressure. I live in an area with a lot of military retirees and the ones from the north never lose their accent. The people that go back north we call "yankees". and the ones that stay "damn yankees". I like their attitude , good people.

1:14 This happened a lot when I lived in Perth. Not necessarily getting in front and then slowing down out of road rage (although road rage was more common than it should have been), but contesting the merge point. This is why Perth drivers have earned the reputation of not knowing how to merge. I personally think infrastructure has a lot to answer for when it comes to driver behaviour. The merge points in Perth are all the form 1 lane type, whereas in Adelaide the merge points are mostly terminating lanes. Adelaide drivers usually behave ourselves at the terminating lane merge points, but where there are form 1 lane merge points, Adelaide drivers will sometimes behave the same way Perth drivers do and contest the merge point.

qvaken hard to know everything from the clip, but from what was shown cammer was in the wrong and should have given way to the van.
@qvaken81425 жыл бұрын
@@Mechail I just watched it a couple more times. It's really odd behaviour from the van. I don't understand why they drove fast enough to get beside the cammer but a little ahead at the merge point, then slowed down in that position. If they had continued at their speed then the two would have merged and the van would have ended up in front. I wonder if there was an incident prior to what we see in the footage where the van driver was angry at something the cammer did and wanted to retaliate? But you're right that based on the fact that the van driver was a little ahead at the merge point the cammer needed to concede and get in behind, and that it's hard to know everything from the clip.
@Mechail5 жыл бұрын
@@qvaken8142 The van was ahead of the cammer just before it could be considered risky and the law states that in a merge you must yield (give way) to the car that is more ahead. The van was probably pissed off that the cammer didn't yield, but I don't need to comment on their behaviour.
@qvaken81425 жыл бұрын
@@Mechail Yes, I agree with you that you must yield to the car that is more ahead. But you usually don't have to slow down significantly to yield at a merge point because the other driver suddenly braked while alongside you for no good reason.
@Mechail5 жыл бұрын
@@qvaken8142 Yeah, that's where the whole thing basically breaks down. You could argue the van shouldn't have slowed down the same as you could argue the cammer shouldn't have maintained speed. Personally I think the van driver was a dick, but the cammer could have done more by slowing down (even though it is frustrating, you gotta let people go).
