I don't know about that, there was a high chance that the oncoming car would keep going on the same path and the cammer had no chance of avoiding a head on but because they went to the right side, they had a way higher chance of avoiding the head on. I thought it was a good move.

It was a lucky outcome, but absolutely the wrong way to handle the situation.

@@campbeld63 Exactly. They're either going to continue on their current course (asleep) or try to move back to the correct side of the road. Ever since i got my Ps i watch these regularly. My parents find them too anxiety inducing but for me it feels like some valuable insight
@patheddles40043 ай бұрын
Honestly I reckon you're more likely to overwhelm them and just leave them terrified of driving. I find these useful now for hazard perception, but 20+ years ago they wouldn't have made me a safer driver.

Had that occur twice to me, ironically exact same spot as well, though in both cases it was an oncoming Hiace whose wheel came off. Second one I saw that wheel, drum, backing plate and half shaft come between me and my trailer.....

What a coincidence that bus companies are struggling to keep employees then suddenly they start appearing on every single DCOA video. They must be hiring any idiot these days.
@user-ix4zy2rv1l3 ай бұрын
pretty much yes. But my take is it has always been bad just that they weren't getting caught on camera because there were less cameras and buses back then
@Nebs13 ай бұрын
@@user-ix4zy2rv1l I’ve been watching this channel ever since it started. I’ve always had an interest in heavy vehicles so I would take notice every time a bus featured on here. These videos have always been about 15 minutes long. The difference is years ago there used to be a bus featured every so often, but over the past year or two they now feature in every single video. So it’s not a case of more cameras and buses. It’s just a case of worst driving standards.
@andjelkojovanovic28523 ай бұрын
My brother is a bus driver and they are struggling with employees and amount of times he was called when supposed to have a day off because not enough drivers and then whoever applies more likely to get accepted just to ease the pressure on others
@user-ix4zy2rv1l3 ай бұрын
@@Nebs1 and I've caught plenty of buses back then and I've been driving since 1994. The quality is not that much better back then, same old bad driving, these guys cant even pull up to a bus stop parallel to the side of the road. You should see these school bus drivers drive, speeding, swearing, rules are optional - so really not much difference, now or then. Just that there're more of these incompetent or maniacal drivers around.
