Found this new nifty thing while browsing. Decided it was worth a try for the price. It has some ups and downs so consider it all before buying!
BEST TIPS:
Bagel: option only cooks via one side of using front quartz element. Just avoid that button to get more heat. If you need it to use both quartz elements for moire heat avoid using this button!
Reheat: will cook an already partially toasted item longer if you feel it is not brown enough or forgot about it in the toaster and it is cold. Shortest cycle time.
Defrost: makes the cycle time lonnnnnger (anticipates need to defrost) which will also help it cook longer. Best option if you are having the issue shown in the video. Defrost cycle will allow elements to heat fully before timed regular cycle.
I use all these known options to get closer to what I like, a bit of a hassle at first, but I have it second nature now. You can get it the darkest on high and defrost, or you can cover the top with tinfoil while cooking which retains heat better.

The bagel setting is specifically designed to only toast the front half of the bagel so the crust side doesn't get too hard. That will make it also less hot because you have half of the heating elements. Either try using the normal toast settings without the bagel button, or if you want only half of the bagel toasted use the defrost setting which makes it toast longer.

I don't use the bagel setting for bagels, as it turns out as described. But by just putting the bagel, set it at the 5 setting, and push the side handle down the bagel comes out great, toasted on both sides. I think the Bagel setting may only toast one side, as traditional "bagel eaters" prefer a bagel to be somewhat "chewy." Don't know for sure, just surmising. I prefer mine, like you do, toasted on both sides

I just bought mine yesterday from Marshall’s, they have a bunch of them right now (July 2021 for 29.99) I tried mine this morning and I’m surprised and sad to see yours barely toast :( and you’re able to touch the toaster to pull out the elements right after use, but mine gets so hot I can’t move it back onto counter until it cools. The toast came out much darker than what I’m seeing in the video and I only had it on the setting five. Granted it is New Orleans in the summer! Or maybe yours is getting old. Or it was really cold when you were toasting in this video. Anyhow, from all the reviews I’m seeing, I don’t expect this toaster to last very long. Bummer. Most people say the handle breaks after a month or the heating element stop working. I got the vintage teal color and it’s adorable in my kitchen, hopefully I have better luck. If you decide to get a new one, call your local Marshalls see if they have them in stock. They had mostly black where I live and a couple teal.

I had this same toaster but in England it is under the "Tower" brand. I don't know if it was faulty but it toasted so unevenly it was ridiculous. you would be watching it to toast and it would start smoking where the other side was burning in places.

Fold a piece of foil, just lay it over the top, the heat will stay in, and toast a nice golden bagel.

Good review. I saw this model on ATK. I know this sounds weird, but your hands look great - so many people have the ugliest long, ragged, dirty fingernails, I can’t watch their review. But yours look clean and nice, like a pianist.

On the bagel setting does it toast on one side or both?

if you use the bagel setting it only toasts on one side, otherwise it will toast on both.

Is there a button for just bread toast.

No button, but the default is just the "toast setting" with nothing else selected. You can adjust the length of time like you would for most toasters.

i have the same problem. I hit defrost and the cycle is longer.

1-7 "7" being the highest setting... Really? And when you tilt it, it will probably turn off. No mention of whether is uses hard to find quartz elements?

it does use quartz element, which is why he's crazy when he says it's overpriced..Quartz toasters usually run for hundreds of dollars.
